My 1st rifle - I received mine (a left handed model) for Christmas in 1971 - still have it (needs re-finishing). Thank you for this story ❤️

My Dad got his T-Bolt out of a sears catelog as a birthday/christmas gift when he was a teenager. I LOVED that gun as a kid, and after my father passed away its one of the few tangible things that I have that I enjoyed with him through my entire life. Im surprised the damn things still has rifling! Im sure that little 22 has fired more rounds than some militaries have!

I have one that my dad gave me around 1967. I still have the peep sight, but now it sports a 3/4” 4X scope for my much older eyes. The new T-Bolt has a tang safety. On my old one it’s on the left of the action and is not particularly convenient to use with a scope, though it was just fine with the old peep sight. They are wonderful 22s, even almost 60 years later.

I've picked up one last year at a NCGCA (North Carolina Gun Collector Association) show, GREAT SHOWS cause you NEVER KNOW WHAT you may find at their shows (mostly older gentleman) so LOTS of OLDER and UNIQUE STUFF. I've heard that some of them had PROBLEMS with RUSTING under the stock because of the way the stocks were CURED? I'm HOPING that isn't a problem with mine.😲😉😁👍

Still kick myself for not buying one that I had in my hands in 1969. Wanted more power and bought a Mossberg .22 magnum. Big mistake. Managed to pick up a salt free T1 at a gun show a few years ago. Bluing is still great, shoots nice. Have a Burris Timberline 4.5 to 14 on it as no peep sight was to be had at a reasonable price.

I have an early one hiding in my closet. It responsible for potting quite a few squirrels and still is my favorite rifle.
