- Find a semi-automatic shotgun in Dying Light right at the start of the story?
I'm talking even before completing the first assignment? Well based on a little experiment I tried on a previous video in this series I figured that it should be possible, so I decided to give it a go!
To be able to try this yourself you must have a version of Dying Light that has the following DLC included, if you only have the standard version then you would need to download the Following in order to be able to replicate this challenge.

When I said this proves you can carry items over from the Following I wasn't trying to state the obvious, I just meant that it proves you can do it at the start of the story 👍🏻
Great video I just started to pact with Rai mission and got attacked by some virals right before I want to repair the lights and ran into the two bandits at the airdrop. They made light work of me and I had it paused looking for a video how to find a gun. I did this trick and went back and for payback and capped them up like a western flick. Confirm does work thanks I appreciate you you just made my day funner 👍
I remember finding a purple Engraved shotgun when I was first playing DL. It was when I was leaving the slums to go to the old town. When you're almost at the end of the sewers there are a few zombies and a toxic goon, found it in a white locked container. With a power of 2550 I was blasting my way through the story mode. It was pretty cool tbh.
wtf, I spent like 4 days in game and haven’t found a shotgun with more than 1500 damage.

Never even found a shotgun outside of the ones that are pre spawned with a power level over the 911 that they've got.

Way to spoil the game
I think you can carry over a machete (Tarkov). The water line quest from the following (the one where you turn on the water) kill the head honcho of that area and he'll drop a machete that does some 1019 damage I believe. Quick work of him especially with the shotgun. Unfortunately the machete cannot be repaired or modified but still a nice starter weapon
Korek machete is more than enough..you get it in base game
It's not that much dmg, probably depends on luck and what your survivor level is, i ve got lvl 23 and even a scythe with 1.4k dmg barely kills regular enemies.

There's also a certain waterfall near the highest mountain in The Following DLC where you can jump down in the river and there will be 3 loot boxes that contain weapons iirc smg and rifle with quite a number of bullet boxes.

@@sunnylife1591 I also stumbled upon this accidentally during the quest for finding the mask for Atilla. At some point after finding the mask i found a waterfall and jumped right in and there was a few crates containing those items.

semi automatic shotgun is really nice to have but in the begining double barrel also helps alot when u wanna kill goons and demolitions

@@80skidgrownup00 you can do stuffed turtle to max out your survival rank at the beginning of the main campaign then do your guide.

There is a secret way to do this and much easier.😂 Have a Lvl 250 drop in and give you a unlimited ammo 42k damage shotgun 😂

i found your "max survival rank at the start of the game" video a few days ago and i´m bingewatching videos about dying light since then because...i live in germany, so i can´t play it myself, but thanks to you i would have survival rank 25, 1 op sword and a blueprint, 1 op machete, and 3 guns, i hope dying light 2 doesn´t get banned and i can follow your guides when it comes out.

that is pretty good to know, maybe ill try it to murder first night volatiles to see if they are unlimited because when there is a volatile chase during main quest they never stop and i learned that after i killed 200 volatiles in the tunnel and i got bored so i just left the zone

Thank you so so so much I was trying to do a bounty where it gave me an exploding revolver, ammo and now I’m going to get it because now we have a shotgun because you need to do two head shots at once with one bullet, but it never said which gun but I knew it had to be a shotgun so thank you so much

I just restarted the game from scratch, my original PS account was lost so all my 2014 game play was lost. I never got to play The Following and it's the only dlc from any game that I really wanted to play. The grind is real when starting again.

My thing about dying light has to be weapon durability it is beyond unrealistic. Not to mention a weapon such as a machete can be re sharpened countless times

One thing this game needs is a workshop for custom maps for console
Guys if you get into an animation (jump, climb, dodge, kick etc) mid crane running out of stamina the game will reset stamina. Just do it when you hear the apex of crane breathing. ❤
Does sliding count? I've been doing it every time i hear crane start gasping for air.

That's what we know them as in the main campaign, but as it happens during the day in the Following and they essentially behave like virals after they've changed then that's what I call them 👍🏻

@@theartillery9724just do all the side quests and farm the turtle mart or whatever is it called. 5 req packs for barely any work, decent amount of xp and it’s repeatable.
You should make a tips/tricks video for people who may have just started playing for the first time on the switch, with the platinum edition. I’d make the video myself but don’t have a way to record footage on my switch. But tips such as using the goons rebar weapons to craft golf clubs or guitars from the left 4 dead dlc bundle. Since it can use any melee weapon. Or crafting a dlc bow to easily kill demolishers or goons, etc. I think it would get a lot of views given the switch’s popularity, and the recent release of dying light for it. And since the game is ONLY platinum edition, making a video that contains info for all the dlc packs will make it more unique than most videos you’ve already done for dying light. Just an idea though. I don’t think anyone’s done a platinum edition based beginners tips/tricks guide.
The using of rebar for golf clubs tip is what really helped me get going. My best weapons at the start were doing like 40 damage usually, so taking a 210 damage rebar and getting it into a viable weapon like a golf club was super helpful. It’s almost like I’m playing the game for the first time again lol
Also, once they get a hook blade, they can craft a leaping tiger dao. And I believe it’s the aesir. Those two weapons can be crafted into eachother! So once they run out of repairs for the leaping tiger dao, they can use it to craft the aesir. And vice versa. So it’s an unlimited durability katana-like weapon essentially!
I recently for the first time ever had someone drop in on my game and it was actually productive. This homie gave me a bunch of awesome weapons. Now my stress is, what do I do when the weapons break? How do I get them good things?
I did it all followed your exact tips and it works I was a little more prepared then him rushing trough..is fine to relax and collect gas and plan your travel. I got into it with some of the once that chase you but I never dare left the buggy. Made it but didn't have any lock picks .. lol so now switching back to story to make lock picks and get my shotty.

I a tally seen some free bundles with weapons like guns and such would those work as well in the campaign ?
I got an idea ...steal the car , break the gate, park out side make a lot of noise bring all the zombies run back in with them following you then sit on the roof and watch the fight happen ... I do that a lot when i can make them follow me and then let them fight the bad guys lol

i dont know if you know this there is a spot on the map where you can get a german hand gun at the vary start by one of those dock towns and some times it has a little bit of ammo in it
With the locks which this works in both dying light games i just flick the thing if it makes the sound showing its not the sweet spot i keep going if i find it i flick it till it opens
Hello sorry for my silly question, but I would like to ask about stuffed turtle quarantine zone, after I finish the first quest of stuffed turtle, the item didn't respawn like your video. Please i need some insight for this problem, thanks
That's a question that I've been asked several times now so it's not a silly one. If after loading out to the slums and then back in again the loot hasn't reset then something has gone wrong as this is a repeatable quest. You could try quitting to the main menu and then press continue, as long as Stuffed Turtle is the tracked quest you'll respawn there again. If that hasn't fixed it then all I can suggest is that you contact support@techland.pl 👍🏻

Wouldnt it also be possible to get your hands on one by grinding up to max survival level and then buying one of a merchant.
Bro this came in handy luckily I came in following as a level 9 but I ain't have no strong weapons and on the mission for the buggy the guy fell of the tower so I got a military rifle and killed everyone there so I got they ammo and I searched police vans so I get 15 pistol ammo and the shotgun then the pistol with some more ammo, all this to complete the steal from a thief mission

i have the following dlc but when i try and go in it,it sets me to “the first assignment” anyone know why?
Gotcha so, so far the list follow as this: Go get the machete blueprint for the developer wepon, followed by getting at least 140 relief packs at the turtle market thing (to get the hook), get the vaccine, talk to spike, go to the following get the OP weapons, get back to campaign and fly through lol

I have always just relied on the following DLC for weapons to use in the campaign main story which is what im doing again before i start a new campaign on my ps5 since it lied and didnt actually allow me to continue from my ps4 saved thingamabober 😂
you can get it just when you get out from the tower you go to the stuffed turtle than get 16 disaster relief packs than do the pc dup glitch than dup to 6500 than go to nightmare a than go to nightmare difficulty than hand it in your level 250 legend than go to the shop there will be a shotgun for sale btw you can farm money to buy it

Mine says 1000+ damage. I think it levels with you. I was level 7 or 8 when I did it and died as my buggy got stuck several times.
Running was almost easier but would take forever...
I haven't played the following dlc yet. Does this mean that your inventory and levels on the main story is the same when you play the following?
Yep, I would finish the main campaign before playing it though tbh. This video was just an experiment to see what was possible at the start

I live the following dlc! The main game topped it for me as a better game than dead island and the dlc I've seen people sayi g is good but not the best... Imo if you don't care for random events the dlc makes this game as good as its ever been Prov8ding you have previous saves and experience
Is it effective against volatiles? I wanna go on a hunt at night but with my weapns even if they do 1000 damage Im still easy prey
It's effective against them but the first shot would bring all of them running at you as it's so loud
2 shots from it will down a volatile, but if you have it the volkan combat AR is better for them

It's because of the Halloween event that currently live. It will go back to normal afterwards, but this is a semi auto. The Quartermaster is only giving normal Shotguns 👍🏻

What about a rifle? Now that I have to restart the game on the switch version, after being spoiled by all my OP weapons on Xbox/ps4, I need something a bit better than a wrench lol. And a rifle I can use a dlc blueprint to craft a silenced rifle.
I'm pretty sure that a couple of the bandits where the buggy is have rifles, if not then you could complete the Kaan and Able quest and then the next one is turning on the water. That place definitely has guys with military rifles, although you may want to get the shotgun and the pistol first to stand a chance against them 👍🏻

There is a lot of weapons in The Following to find right in the beginning: pistols, rifles, smg, double barrel shotguns.

@@80skidgrownup00 As far as I know crossbow has been removed. You can earn it reaching level 3 of trust. There was basic bow too on some hunting tower, also removed.

I think most people just assume that you had to finish the story, I did too on my first play through but it turns out that you can go any time after the prologue 👍🏻

Yes, this was just an experiment to see how early it was possible. Anything you find in the Following can be used in the main campaign 👍🏻
