I just bought the ultimate version of this game and I'm so impressed by it. Some of my favorite youtubers were talking about how amazing it is so I decided to give it a try. Thanks for the tips! I'm actually gonna start over and use these tips to have a better play through
Great story, no? I like how the main character is not just an average Joe and you get zombie bit right from the start. I like how there is a suppressant and most of the survivors are infected, so there's hope, but time is running out for them. I also like that the zombies don't seem to be the main villains. Seems like the bad people during a zombie apocalypse are the real threat. Rais, and even the GRE turned out to be bigger "monsters" than the zombies.
You can farm medikits from the tower. just go to sleep and wake up in mornng, go to quatermaster and collect medikit. he also gives crafting supplies too so you can craft 2 or medikit free easily. you might have to farm for like 5 minutes and you'll get like 20 medikits
Just started playing this again because, the 2nd dying light impressed me so much. What great tips. Cant wait to get the grappling hook to feel like I'm in attack on titan lol.
For those playing Nightmare Mode, Night is twice as long and zombies are about 3 times as hard so what I recommend is going for perks that are an instakill or try to avoid fights entirely with the vault perk
I agree with this and the Korek machete can't be used either on nightmare mode so you can't cheese it. Also there's the problem with vaulting, sliding in any other ability now uses stamina including the stomp ability, and any takedown ability, so you can't use that stuff as much. Plus the last perk on the power level skill is changed so you don't have infinite fight stamina.
Here's a little pro-tip regarding camouflage and visibility that I discovered recently: You probably already know this, but you can actually almost always camouflage yourself completely AND simultaneously prevent Kyle from smearing guts on his stupid face and obstructing his/your vision lol. Here's how: Press and hold the button to camouflage like you normally would, but watch the little circle gauge closely and release the button as soon as the gauge is full instead of holding it through the entire "smearing" animation. That's all there is to it. It works because of a confluence of three facts. 1. The "smearing" animation Kyle does with his hands actually lasts longer than it takes to completely fill the camouflage action gauge. 2. The "face smearing" portion of the animation doesn't start until after thr gauge is actually full. 3. When you release the camouflage button the animation cancels immediately. So if you ignore the animation and only go by the circle gauge, and release the camouflage button as soon as the gauge is full, the _vast_ majority of the time you can cancel the "face smearing" part of the animation and stop Kyle from smearing any guts on his face. This preserves your full vision aside from the orange tint, which is fine. It sounds like the kind of trick that isn't all that useful, but it actually is extremely useful, especially for nighttime or dark places where visibility is already poor without camouflage guts in your eyes. This trick works for me probably 95% of the time. Give it a shot next time you think of it.
Either that or just don't use the camouflage and instead go after the cloak potion that the witch gives you even though it's a little more difficult to craft it's a lot better than using the camouflage.
I saw another video where this trick was explained differently, so having more things to time the release is good. In that video, it showed the moment you bring your arms up into the screen, and start to run your hands together, is when you release. Even if you don’t get it perfectly, you spread far less guts on your screen.
Lmfao, you HAVE to complete the animation to make yourself feel better? Thats some crippling OCD bud, i hope you get some help with that good lord@Tentin.Quarantino
Just found out an easy way to level up power. When I was going for the blueprint on the bridge there was so many zombies and what I did was gather them around the oil on the ground then thrown a fire cracker. If you throw the fire cracker on the oil it will light it up and then I was just allowing the zombies to walk through it. There was so many 50exps showing up and I leveled up super fast. I would do that or I would just gather up a huge group then hit them all with a molotov.
I did something similar with this. There is a power station where the zombies just respawn everyday and its next to a safe house. So I just camp there at night and throw molotovs at the zombies, go to sleep, camp, rinse and repeat
I like to farm power and money/small loot on that bridge too. My favorite way is to stand on the hood of a van (not the rood, but the windshield area,) and kick zombies in the head using the "finish" stomp. After you kill most of the zombies in the area you can get on top of the van and jump up and down and it'll draw more of the zombies who haven't come over yet. Once you kill them all, just run to the other end of the bridge and there'll always be more. By the time you kill all those zombies, the zombies on the opposite end will have respawned.
I just started playing this morning so if anyone has any amazing, must-do things to do first, let me know! 🤓 This game is so fun! Not sure why I waited six years to play this!!
I recommend trying to get combat and agility as fast as you can, because they make you untirable from combat and parkour, also, there's a few duplicate glitches, not saying it's needed, but if medkit looting is too annoying,it's easier to just do a dupe.
As soon as you get in old town get the quest from the gunsmith. In the end you will get the angel sword 🗡 blueprint. The angel sword is awesome. You can also get the blueprints for the excalibur in the slums. It has only seven hits but what for a hit. The Koreck sword is on top of a roof. On the map the building looks like a C but one side is longer then the other. On the roof in between sand bags you will see a tool box. You have to kick it over and over and overand over eventually it will open, over 70 kicks I think, and you can get the blueprint. The Koreck can not be repairedbut it is very strong.
I had dying light on my old xbox and decided to get it on pc now and im still loving it. One thing you can do to get easy Survivor points (Especially early game) is doing the stuffed turtle quarantine zone in the slums. You can get some decent weapons and its about 20 zombies, a bomber and a viral spawn which are easy to deal with if you have firecrackers and molotovs and best thing is you dont even have to get all 5 crates, you can get the 1st three then leave and go back in and repeat as the 1st 3 crates have no zombies in them, just an electrified floor which you can turn off by jumping on shelves to avoid the floor then turning the power off and then collecting the crates. Its an easy way to get survivor points and I recommend it to new players or players in the early game.
WE APPREXIATE YOU! even though this has little views, know that the small amount of us that bought this game during the sale really appreciate videos like these an will always support them. THANK YOU!!
I used to be so concerned about losing my lockpicks while lockpicking so avoided them, but once I started cracking them they got so fun and now the very hard locks looks easy to me.
Also you realize you can get such good stuff out of the harder locks. I've gotten orange tier weapons and weapon mods through the very hard locks. Definitely worth it if you can get to the locks without getting attacked.
*Beginners tip:* at the start of the game before you have the drop kick ability and you want to disable your opponents, DEFINITELY get the slide feature, because you can sprint and slide into your opponents which almost always trips them for a good five seconds and during this time you can go Ham on them with any weapon- maybe even chop their head off 😬
Thanks! Quite new to the game myself, but maybe another tip for getting some exp in early game, if you stand on the hood of a truck, you are low enough to hit zombies in the head but they do not seem to be able to reach you (at least thats my experience) :) If you are at Rais' place, there is a blue truck at the front where you can do this at night for even more exp. Once you attract volatiles you just hop back over the fence, ending the pursuit, and you can repeat this til night is done.
Once I got a few guns, the game became considerably easier. I even stopped using melee weapons, ammo is cheap enough I can keep my stock up easily. I even stopped being afraid of the night. Pro tip: kill enough volitiles, and they stop spawning.
Cool content for dying light, I played it back when it came out and never got to complete it so brought it again on the Xbox series s yesterday so I’m smashing it out 😊 🧟♂️
Absolutely! First time I played it I wasn't into games much, so I didn't think much of it, but I just bought it for PC & haven't slept the same since lmao. Top 3 games of all times imo
Comeback to making videos ain’t been on in 2 years the guide made me wanna play more I’m really a sports game player think I might also get the new dead rising remastered
I can give you guys an advice, to quickly get survivor levels you can do the quarrantine zone in the supermarket. the quests name is turtle smth, if you only get 3 packages and not continue and just leave, you can repeat this. From 30 packages (10 runs) i got 108k survivor xp. All you have to do is enter, get 1st package, turn off the electricity and get 2 more packages. then you just leave and repeat until you have a lot of these crates. then return to the quartermaster (i go to the tower's quartermaster the most) to turn them in and you get survivor xp. this also gives the legend xp but you dont have that unlocked early in the game like me
I’ve just purchased this game today, somehow RUclips said I’m gonna need help and your video pops up. Very detailed and easy to follow, thank you brother.
i literally Wasted All of them on that first mission, they just Didn't even work, LOL........I was better off jumping on a Very short roof to distract the zombies, Lol.
A handy thing to know is how much experience you get for each action. You can tell when you killed an enemy after getting 200+exp from a swing/attack, it’s very useful on higher difficulty
after reading many positive reviews about this game, i finally bought it on a big discount on steam. thank you for this very informative video my man! looking forward to another beginner guide once dying light 2 finally drops
thank you for your help! very useful! I've had dying light on my back burner, but i've started to play it recently and still in permanent day cycle, I watched your video for tips and found it incredibly useful, also thanks for the blueprint locations, I think this game should have had an actual quest to run around check on locations/get blueprints because this really helps to get used to game parkour mechanics
I got 2 tips which involves killing many volatiles and some sort of glitch. The best spot to kill volatiles is in the second map: Old Town. There's a safe house with a garden on the roof north of the city. You must stand on the west roof (the opposite direction of the weapons dealer) There are 2 roofs and 1 is a little bit lower than the second roof and there's a huge stairs down the edge of the roof. The best method is to have full ammo and some medkits. Shoot a volatile walking nearby and just get up the lower part of the roof. The volatiles cant get to you and will jump to a balcony on the higher part of the roof and fall off. You can do this all night with 4 stars and the staircase will be filled with about 150 packages of volatiles and infected and you can level up very quickly. In some cases the volatiles will spit their toxins at you but when you back off the roof to the safe zone then they will stop spitting and chase you. On nightmare difficulty you will level up the legendary very fast. The second tip is in Hassan which involves the survivors with the protection symbol. Just start any protection mission and make sure the survivor dies... and Hassan will be pretty much empty of zombies. Zombies on the streets will get deleted during the protection mission. You can walk around and loot everything with few troubles. However there are some spots that still have zombies like the bridge or the rais building. There will only be more infected runners in Hassan and shooting will trigger more of them to show up. Someties you can get up to 8 or 10 infected chasing after you:)
Great video. Ive made good use of the perma daytime at the start of the game. Im a wuss so i dont think i wouldve been able to collect all these things in regular game play. I had some issues climbing down from the bridge and died but since it was the start if the game i didnt lose much.
As someone that has put in almost 300 hours of dying light I would have to say that I disagree with only two things on this list and that is avoiding the ground and turning off community events. One big thing a lot of community events have is extra XP sometimes it's only 2X and sometimes it's 3X XP and those are extremely useful for leveling your character up quicker yes some of them might be more difficult but I would look them up and see what they are and if they have two or three times XP you absolutely want to take advantage of that because it'll take forever to max legend level without it, and I would not avoid the ground as much because in order to level up your power level you need to fight zombies, one big tip I have is fight zombies close to spiked traps and use kicking to kick them into the spike traps, just starting in the game I've been able to kill a whole giant hordes just from kicking them into spiked traps or unlocking the grapple early and grappling them into the traps. It helps tremendously with XP and you can loot their bodies at the end to get a ton of useful stuff right at the start, that's just what I learned, and if you go after the expcaliber and korek machete right at the start you'll have an absolute Giant advantage right at the beginning (except for nightmare mode, you can't craft the korek and I'm not sure about the EXPcaliber) and it really helps, there's also a location down at the bottom right of the map where you can pick up a free handgun which would be very useful as well. Another amazing hint you can use as well to level yourself up very fast is to grind out the stuffed turtle quarantine zone, that's how I power level, and when you get to legend points switch over to nightmare mode and you'll level that up very fast too. Hopefully this helps people as well.
The gameplay in this game is freaking awesome. The only downside is the extremely eyerollingly (yes that's a word) mind numming story that is like rubbing my brain on protective foam ..... """""'''story"""""" Downloaded it a few years ago, played it untill my laptop broke. Rest in piece acer predator 15💔
fun fact, the day night cycle actually does kick in during the airdrop mission, but the time progression is just slowed down but then sped back up to nighttime when you get to that par in the story.
Great video though I disagree with the tip about staying above the ground, early game it can be incredibly easy to kill zombies, especially if you use electric traps, spilled gasoline and the spikes to kill them. Skipping on this will cause you to lose out on a bunch of xp
Excellent video, I just started the game and went for all the blue prints as recommended; before advancing into the story. I got them all except 'Surprise MFs' at the top of the first bridge tower @ 24:24 However, it was kind of a let down; because after bypassing the army of undead, and getting to the door, it was locked 😕 I tried climbing the support riser; but that was a failure. We probably need a grappling hook; he kinda glosses over that whole section, without giving any advice on how to get up there; but it was still fun falling into the water lol
Great video. Though you missed to praise the power of ever kicking Crane's leg. It can easily kick some asses. In fact, it's one of most powerful "weapons" in the game.
Wow I finally got all of the blueprints Holy, its currently 2:15 in the morning and I'm going to bed,❤ THANK YOU SO MUCH❤ for all the hard work and effort you put into making this video, it has been a somewhat difficult but also really fun journey and for thank you have thanks. Goodnight✌

Hey anybody play dying light on ps4? If so pls give your username so I can friend you and we can play on dying light cuz pretty much all my friends don’t play it.
Your video is definitely underrated man.. amazing content and well put together. I just recently got a new PC setup and went on a steam game haul due to Black Friday and I really wanted to experience this game on PC rather than PS4 and I wanted a more strategic play through this go around and your video is filled with very useful information. Thanks so much!
Hint: If you hold the Button for Camouflage too long you smear your vision. Release the Button when the Indicator is full and instantly release. Full Time Camo plus no impaired Vision. Get a Bow aka craft one early so you can take out Zombies that are a hassle in close combat. Also use the crafting to get much better Weapons. What is the "best" changes depending on what you get and how high your Level is. First, the ones which grants damage are the best. Later, you focus more on Upgrades and Durability as well as range - like the Shu-Bundle Axe and the Crane-Sword. Experiment with the Crafting and find the Stuff best to your Playstyle. And if you have, do not forget the Winter Soldier Suit - 20% more XP. Oh, and be careful with the Elemental Effects - I only use the one adding knockback as the others apply the Status to the Zombie - who then damages you back when too close. That "Fastball Special" allows for the Damage Bonus without self-harm. Dies so often by a Zombie grappling me while beeing affected by elemental Effect that then klilled me, it is ridiculous. And it stopped immediatly them moment I stopped using Weapons with that Effects. The reason I do not include "Bleeding" as effect to that "Safe to use" is that it is not - there are "poisonous" Zombies (the one with the "green Aura") and thoose get more harmful when bleeding is applied to them, easily cost you more than 50HP before you get away again. Also, the "Fastball Special" can be applied to all Melee Weapons and add another 50 Damage - not much later, sure, but early on a real treat. The Blueprint can spawn randomly from Vendors when reaching Survivor Rank 7. Also, mind that there is a Grenade Launcher (Rifle with Special Ammo) and a "One-Shot-Kill" Pistol against Hunters (van Crane-Bndle) to craft early on. And the Efect on that Crane-Bundle is that at night you get a 50% Damage Boost. So, the Sword that get another Repair Point is pretty much the best Sword as it had weight, Power and more range than most other Weapons.
Man, I've died so many times with nearly a full symbol of XP due to fires and damn exploding zombies. That was really a problem in the DLC. Friend in front of me would drive through one setting him off and I'd be trailing just close enough to die. Oh, the levels I should have earned. Then again, it happens to everyone. Oh well.

The dying light community is amazing on my 1st day this end game player joined my session and dropped 80 med kits 30 king upgrades and a legendary weapon
I've played through dying light many, MANY times (best guess is just over 100, it's like comfort food) I've never really watched RUclips content around it, it's fun to know we tackle it about the same!
Tip about the quarter master: if you sleep he resets, so if you're early game you can just farm him to get a good number of medkits and stuff, might take some time though
By the way, there is a trick to avoid breaking lockpicks. When you miss 3 times, cancel the action before lockpick brakes and get back to to it. This way lockpick HP resets and you can attemp to unlock over and over again.

I have it for my switch...I just need to escape the first night time mission and I'll be golden lol
Ah yes, a fellow Ikea land member

This is the best tips/beginner guide for Dying alight. I hope you make them for every game. You’re so good at!
Here's a little pro-tip regarding camouflage and visibility that I discovered recently:
You probably already know this, but you can actually almost always camouflage yourself completely AND simultaneously prevent Kyle from smearing guts on his stupid face and obstructing his/your vision lol. Here's how:
Press and hold the button to camouflage like you normally would, but watch the little circle gauge closely and release the button as soon as the gauge is full instead of holding it through the entire "smearing" animation.
My inner completionist wouldn’t allow me to cancel an animation I started, but this is still good to know.
I saw another video where this trick was explained differently, so having more things to time the release is good. In that video, it showed the moment you bring your arms up into the screen, and start to run your hands together, is when you release. Even if you don’t get it perfectly, you spread far less guts on your screen.
@@ErosXCaosgood option 2 suggestion 😅
I'm taking note
At night time.
@@CNSninja ye that’s my favorite tactic too
Nice bro thanks for the info bro
I just started playing this morning so if anyone has any amazing, must-do things to do first, let me know! 🤓 This game is so fun! Not sure why I waited six years to play this!!
I can t really remember but I think there s an unbreakable sword on a school roof in slums!
@@animelifetime1439 Korek machete
Jump off something high for the shits and gigs
THANK YOU!!
Thanks for the support!! I appreciate it
@@Boyertand now this has 600k views, seems like many people love dying light 1
I used to be so concerned about losing my lockpicks while lockpicking so avoided them, but once I started cracking them they got so fun and now the very hard locks looks easy to me.
Also you realize you can get such good stuff out of the harder locks. I've gotten orange tier weapons and weapon mods through the very hard locks. Definitely worth it if you can get to the locks without getting attacked.
*Beginners tip:*
at the start of the game before you have the drop kick ability and you want to disable your opponents, DEFINITELY get the slide feature, because you can sprint and slide into your opponents which almost always trips them for a good five seconds and during this time you can go Ham on them with any weapon- maybe even chop their head off 😬
Just started last night....I suck so hard and have no idea what I'm doing xD
same.........lol
Same
Thanks! Quite new to the game myself, but maybe another tip for getting some exp in early game, if you stand on the hood of a truck, you are low enough to hit zombies in the head but they do not seem to be able to reach you (at least thats my experience) :)
If you are at Rais' place, there is a blue truck at the front where you can do this at night for even more exp. Once you attract volatiles you just hop back over the fence, ending the pursuit, and you can repeat this til night is done.
21:54 Don't be an idiot like me, I was literally kicking instead of tapping the "use" button
Same :)
@@navishsharma07 How long have you kick the shit out of the box? I think I've wasted nearly 20 minute
I've completed this game like 5 times, once on nightmare, so no idea why I'm here, but hey, good video XD
I'm playing this game over for the third time, I need to relearn it. Best zombie game ever made.
Once I got a few guns, the game became considerably easier. I even stopped using melee weapons, ammo is cheap enough I can keep my stock up easily. I even stopped being afraid of the night. Pro tip: kill enough volitiles, and they stop spawning.
Thanks bro I just got this game for the first time this is going to be super helpful! Keep up the good work I subbed
It may be almost 6 years old but its better than cyberpunk 2077 AKA cyberprank 2077
Cool content for dying light, I played it back when it came out and never got to complete it so brought it again on the Xbox series s yesterday so I’m smashing it out 😊 🧟♂️
I think I can help you if you want some help. Just hit me up.
This game aged like fine whiskey
Feels so good coming back after all these years
Absolutely! First time I played it I wasn't into games much, so I didn't think much of it, but I just bought it for PC & haven't slept the same since lmao. Top 3 games of all times imo
Just bought the enhanced edition for 32 quid. Where has this game been all my life? Such a good game.
Comeback to making videos ain’t been on in 2 years the guide made me wanna play more I’m really a sports game player think I might also get the new dead rising remastered

I should of watched of watched this when I was a noon but now it's too rocking late😟😩
Btw if you play on harder difficulties such as hard or nightmare the night lasts much longer especially on nightmare
ThePlugCharlie Thanks for clarifying! You are absolutely right, the night does last longer on harder difficulty
I can give you guys an advice, to quickly get survivor levels you can do the quarrantine zone in the supermarket. the quests name is turtle smth, if you only get 3 packages and not continue and just leave, you can repeat this. From 30 packages (10 runs) i got 108k survivor xp. All you have to do is enter, get 1st package, turn off the electricity and get 2 more packages. then you just leave and repeat until you have a lot of these crates. then return to the quartermaster (i go to the tower's quartermaster the most) to turn them in and you get survivor xp. this also gives the legend xp but you dont have that unlocked early in the game like me
Thank you even tho i completed the game 6 times You have much support from me
I’ve just purchased this game today, somehow RUclips said I’m gonna need help and your video pops up. Very detailed and easy to follow, thank you brother.
I completely forget about fire crackers i only used them ONCE and I didn’t even use them correctly so yea
i literally Wasted All of them on that first mission, they just Didn't even work, LOL........I was better off jumping on a Very short roof to distract the zombies, Lol.
@@94SexyStang same
Also all police van trunks I’ve looted have all been very hard and all had a pistol inside so far!
The problem with those is that they’re always surrounded by zombies
@Central Intelligence Agency Offical yeah I always forget about that. It’s super useful and completely wasted on me.
This is an amazing video, extremely well done. Thank you.
Thanks, i'm glad you liked it!
I just got the game yesterday and this is a really good video thx so much
A handy thing to know is how much experience you get for each action.
You can tell when you killed an enemy after getting 200+exp from a swing/attack, it’s very useful on higher difficulty
The ninja suit makes no sounds when walking and running makes easier to get around zombies but they will smell you
Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort making this video helps a lot!
Fantastic video! Informative, but to the point, no wasting time. LOVE IT!
thanks glad you enjoyed it!
You can farm supply drops at the stuffed turtle
3 out oh 5 of them in the electrical Parkour portion
As someone with over 60 hours of Dying Light I have to say these are very good tips for beginners, good job!
after reading many positive reviews about this game, i finally bought it on a big discount on steam. thank you for this very informative video my man! looking forward to another beginner guide once dying light 2 finally drops
13:30 "i often prefer the 2nd tower"
not just you....huehuehue
thank you for your help! very useful!
"Dubble" XP. Heheh! That was so cute!! 😆
Exactly!!!!
Great additional tips! Thanks for taking the time and writing it all down
The one thing I love to do is looting, loot as much as I want xD
"""""'''story""""""
Downloaded it a few years ago, played it untill my laptop broke.
Just got the limited version noe that it is on like 70% of and damnn the game is awsome
We probably need a grappling hook; he kinda glosses over that whole section, without giving any advice on how to get up there; but it was still fun falling into the water lol
maybe im little late haha, i climbing throu support cable and its doable in 1lvl. (im just starting too xD)
Goodnight✌

After a 3 year hiatus from the game, this is sure to help me get back into it
Great tips I came back to this game years later and forgot most of it so this really helped
I appreciate your comment! Glad you found it useful :)
Expcalibur is still usefull after it’s Brocken with charge attack it sends enemy’s flying
Thank you for these tips!! ❤️ I'm playing this game right now on my potato laptop 😅.
Oh well.
