And a massive thanks to all friends, followers and sponsors! You are all awesome!
Martin Pickering
Great job Martin. I'll have to get mine out and try some of those moves !
Sounds like an idea for a video?! 😁
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC Hmmm....possibly 😁
@@EssentialRC yes our friend Martin deserves more attention Dom;)
@@EssentialRC do it Dom 🤣😂😂 sounded like a dare to me
@@BreatheRC So a 'Can I fly like Martin Pickering?' video. I think I know the answer to that already.
Tom is awesome, talented pilot and I enjoy his content 👍
I love seeing ur talents with the Big Boys, but yeah, seeing u pull the same stuff off with something I could very well own myself, 👍I like that too)! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks mate!!
Great flyin' MP. Really enjoyed watchin' this, especially the Low & Slow stuff on such a "slightly" heavy Bird. Nothin' like being fearless flyin' foam! I'm still flyin' my RCG V1 on a custom 5S setup swingin' a 15x7 wood prop. Talk about powering out of a hover! Plus it does wicked blenders, poptops & crankshafts! Suggest you try that & post another follow up vid. Thanks.
The Freak Show continues!
Unreal stuff as usual.
Great show, insane work MP.
Thanks dude!
That was some nice flying there. I like the size of that model, and I'd probably go 6s on it since I like extra power.
Then it becomes more of an aerobatic sport vs extreme 3d. 3d planes fly better when light, more nimble.. 5s is probably the perfect compromise.
I see the 39” Edge in the background. After seeing your video I bought one. Fantastic airplane. Mine is 4S with Hitec servos. It does everything well and is very durable.
Good choice!
Gracias Martin,Buen Video y buen Trabajo super facil !!!!!
20k let's goo!! Congrats 💐💐
Where did you get that foamie mb339?
Finally got some time on my GP 123! Very great engine! Nice video Martin.
Nice!!!
Cool vid!
Nice airplane
fly's like my rc gadgetz edge 540 phantom on 3s, i love that plane!
Thanks for uploading Martin....I bought the 51” extra 300 from Horizon Hobby and must say I was really impressed. It 3Ds really well and is a load of fun😎.
Nice!
Amazing plane 👍
Dam you make it look so easy, great to see you flying about again 👍🏻
You were actually pretty close :)
Great flying!
You were not supposed to see that bit Tom! hahahaha
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC uhuh... lol
I have yet to encounter the first non-dutch speaker to pull it off :)
Just glad you didn't go with "the Weird"...
awesome! this might be a choice for a plane at my mums!
What radio are you using?
We're can I buy one off them I can't find one anywhere
Nice video! And great piloting skills.....as usual. 4S and 5S lipos, but what size? Does the ESC come with a factory installed lipo connector? If so, what is it?
Hope to see a video of you trying out the new RC Factory Grippen, with the twin engines for 3D.
That sure looks fun!
What brand of batteries do you normally use?
Hi Martin, after flying electrical planes for yeas I'm building my first plane with gas engine, a Jamara Extra300S, wingspan 1850 mm. I'm providing a DLE 30cc engine for that. I have a question, do I mount the motor straight or with 3° downthrust and right thrust? PS I love to watch your videos
Awesome flying as usual.
My curiosity is your radio setup for this plane, i.e. dr/expo. Would you mind posting? Love the channel. Greetings from across the pond. Barrington, IL
Thanks! Unless at an IMAC competition, I fly all models on a single rate (no d/r - it avoids me trying something stupid while using the wrong low rate..) so all surfaces/servos maxed out. Just checking my radio, I have 55% expo on aileron, 75% on elevator, 40% on rudder, and about 20% curve on the throttle so its more aggressive in the lower throttle settings. This is on a Core radio, so on Futaba and most other radios, these percentages would be about 10% lower.
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC Thank you so much for the valuable information. Coming from an accomplished 3D competition pilot it means a lot. You're the best. Stay safe.
Nice plane. This place where you fly then is natural grass or astroturf?
In this video, its artificial grass, recycled from a football pitch
Hola amigo y donde lo puedo comprar?
Great flying there martin🙃 would love to see a video on the hobbyking voltigeur.
Gonna be doing any videos on the PowerBox Atom soon? :D
Maybe 😜
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC can't wait. Looks like it's gonna be an interesting radio.
Great Job! Well done! How much volt is the BEC? How much volts are for this servos needed/maximum? 6V, 7.2 or 8.V? Thanks!
Good video 😍👍pity only that it does not show how the battery cover is located or how much space it is or how the battery is attached to the plane. But the biggest concern is still that it is HobbyKing that sells ... because they lack quality control on their products. .. does this also apply here? 🤔
The rudder pull pull cable connections to the threaded couplers is not done correctly. One loop back into the crush tube is not sufficient. Should be double looped around the crush tube and then crimped closed.
Martin, thanks for this. I haven't flown in almost 20 years and now I'm really considering getting back in. If I may ask, is there any way you could post a video of the leading ARF/RTF builders out there and your take on them? Perhaps also motor, battery and radio tech as a primer for people wanting to get in? I am so out of touch with RC that this would be an absolute godsend. Thanks for the videos!
Hi Lui, that would start a huge controversy I am sure lol
Depends what size you are looking for, but nowadays, it is hard to find a bad model, technology and design has improved a long way...
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC oh that makes sense! Looks like it's gonna be a fun time discovering how it all works now. Thanks Martin!
@@rollingrock5143 I cut my gums on a HH bnf timber x mated to a spektrum dx6e. It wasn't long after purchasing it that I went full span setup on 4s for crazy 3d. I find more value in pnp models as all you have to do is put a rx in them and there're more flavors of plane. my favorite prop hanger now is a rc gadgetz mxs edge 540.
Where do you get that plane from
Hobbyking
Hi Martin, excellent video, thank you!
May I dare ask whether you flew both the 4S ánd 5S setup stabelized ?
The 5S setup just looks so much smoother... for example at hovering...
Hi, no, on this occasion I never even tried a gyro inside. I think the stability comes from removing the SFG which I really didnt like lol
Hello Martin,
How would you compare a 120cc plane to flying this size foam 3d planes? Is it harder to fly these smaller planes? So rolling harrier or just plain harrier and hover? Easier with the big gasser or easier with smaller electric?
I am flying allot of 60" and down 3d planes. Want to step up to a 103" or so 120cc. I can rip pretty good with my current planes. But curious how the big ones fly in comparison. Need a true answer as most info on the net is all over the place and no truth. I own V1 of this 330lx. I push it hard and enjoy it. I fly the Flex Cap232 the most and it's rips. Great plane. I want a big boy though and with no one around in our area that flies planes like this I cannot see one up close nor try one before buying.
Great videos keep them coming.
Yes, for anything other than f3a pattern planes I’ve never seen a 5S ARF. The last thing I need is another set of batteries. Odd choice indeed.
yeah its pretty weird...
Great flying 👏👍 Have a question : Are you using gyro on your planes? Thanks for all your videos
Depends on the models, for the last couple of years, in acrobatic models no, in jets yes
I had the first version your better to use a solid bit of wire for steering on the rudder.
Apparently the V2 fixes a load of issues the V1 had, the rudder has fat pull pull so I dont see any problems there mate
👍
mantap, verigood mas Martin
At 7:22 you can see how misaligned the tail is to the wing, that is really off putting.
So when are we gonna more vids of the new slick?😜 Or are you still in lockdown?
Hopefully after 9 months (!) the props should be here this week! Then slick time!!
Awesome...can’t wait!👌🏻
How about you do a video from start to finish on how to hook up a spectrum nx10 to the powerbox pioneer, not ever use,or can afford a jeti radio!!! I have have one and i am getting no satisfaction. I think they ate junk...please try to change my mind...
Отличный аппарат! Подари))
Oh what a shame it’s foam!
5s is a really odd battery choice. Would have been better if it was 6s like a lot of other planes.
6s for life
Part of me wanted to try on 6S but that might be too much fun and possibly over-clock the servos?
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC It should just be the ESC and Motor that would care about the 6S right? The Servos would still get whatever the BEC puts out, guessing the standard 5v
It Looks and flys like a foamy
maybe because it is a foamie.
Yep, thats probably it lol
Foamey planes it's like putting a engine or electric motor on a BATH SPUNGE . L.O.L.
Plane is nice I don’t like the landing gear
Well theirs no doubt about it you can fly.
But can you put a fruit pastille in your month without chewing it. 😜
A plane I can afford not so sure £315 for a foam plane.
Come on guy's if you want to cut costs and build a great model then build from plans . And be congratulated for your work and the flying feild. NOT some manufacture. That designed and built it and almost put it to geater. BE proud of what you have achieved. Guy's
Not some company .
Every decent plane is made with Styrofoam not Balsa
The problem with him flying it is that he could fly a total piece of crap and make it look good
Stupidest power setup ever just make it 6s.
