APM’s are pure shit in terms of design flaws. I’ve had three (3), yes 3, different pairs of APM’s that failed within the 30 day return window thank god. The build up of moisture inside the ear cups seems to be the culprit and the lack of conformal coating for any sort of moisture resistance is the major design flaw. The transparency button failed on two units and the ear cup sensor failed on the third all within 25 days of everyday working from home usage (6-7hrs/day). Anyway, now that I got my money back from B&H I just ordered these headphones. I just want something that is next gen and has low latency codex’s (which neither Bose or Sony headphones for whatever dumb reason) with excellent ANC and mic for calls. It seems like thats a high bar to ask for all that but only the APM’s had until I discovered these. Hopefully these work for me and don’t fail like the APM’s did.

hi! Anc does actually work when using the cable . I've owned the 95s for a month and they are great. Other than a bit heavy and they must be switched on when wired. You can also used them while charging. Thanx for the review.

Looking forward to making some trans-Pacific flights with this beauty. This is such a huge upgrade over the Sony WH-1000XM3 that I've used for several years and a big upgrade over the APM as well which I still own.
@@tk-im9gm I find the H95's ANC on par with the ANC on the Sony XM-1000WH3. I haven't tried the WH4 or the new WH5. I recently went on a business trip to Asia with the H95 and it was just fine.
I have been using these for over 3 years and I love them so much. They have never failed to connect, all mechanics are still like new and the sound is just so nice and well balanced. The battery life is still really nice and I only charge them once or twice a month (use them daily for around 2 hours). They only downside (if there is any) is that new earpads are pretty expensive at around 100 dollars. And the app has gotten MUCH better... but is still a bit slow to connect.

Everything is exactly as you say but you forget to mention that even if you have it in the max volume, the sound is tooooo low! And I'm using the lg g8x phone.
Even though the AirPods Max are overpriced, apple products simply work without any trouble. My experience with Beoplay products has always been that you should never buy first-gen stuff. They usually need 2 or 3 generations to get all issues fixed. Had that with the H9 headphones, with the A1 speaker and with the E8 earphones, the first-gen products suck. This doesn’t happen with apple. Moreover, B&O products drop significantly in price as a new version of a particular product gets released. You can get the E8 2.0 for less than a third of the original price now. So paying a grand for the h95 or five hundred bucks for the Hx doesn’t pay off as you get them much cheaper in 2 years or so.
If you like music and want to hear all the little intricacies get them. That if you have the money. Pay almost 1,000$ US dollar after taxes. Found my self using them all day. I heard them against my Sennheisers (M3 Wireless and PXC 550-II) and gotta say they do sound good, much better than Apple stuff, but don't like the design, particularly the headband. I had to decide if I upgrade my H9i to H95 or AirPods Max. While the H95 look better, maybe might sound a tiny bit better, but the B&O connectivity in the Apple ecosystem is really bad - 2 devices only ???!!!. My AirPods Max (and AirPods Pro) move totally seamlessly between all my Apple devices - I‘m spoiled and B&O is a big letdown vs. this. And the surround to binaural of the AirPods max is also another „killer“. So AirPods Max it was (and a 3rd party case), and I‘m selling my H9i. This from a man firmly embedded in the B&O ecosystem, but also in the Apple (after nearly 25+ yrs of PCs) and not Google ecosystem. My decision might have been for the H95 with Android+PC devices.
@@JoeGillian0 :-) totally agree that the H95 (which I wanted to like more) are better for multi-vendor scenarios. But I‘m not stuck, I‘m in the Apple ecosystem because it‘s better for me. And there the AirPods Max give me the seamless connectivity to my 5 devices (e.g. listening to music and immediately picking up a phone or Teams call) where my H9i were sometimes really annoying. And the binaural sound is amazing in music-films - it‘s not a gimmick to me. Listening to e.g. Taylor Swift‘s The Long Pond Studio Sessions on Disney+ or A Star is Born (or pick your choice) really shows how much better binaural-decoded 5.1 sound is for music vs. stereo. Binaural takes clarity and instrument/voice separation and immersiveness to new levels (I suggest you try it out). And to my knowledge the H95 do not compete there (lack the processor and space/head-motion awareness).
@@andikunar7183 Well stuck was a bit harsh. Yes i heard some great things about Apple spatial audio...and as far as i know android is not there yet. I am not even sure disney+ on android smartphones or table and owindows has multichannel
Nobody mentions how heavy they feel after longer period of wearing them. Its definitely not ideal for pc gaming or longer travels I think cause it will start to hurt after few hours aaaand the difference in weight between these metal Beoplay and my old Beoplay H4 is very significant.
You can not wear them for any length of time - that alone makes these headphones worthless. The app is horrible, and ANC is not so great. They Re also missing many of the conveniences of other brands.
Search Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC or the Hifiman Susvara. I still have the Abyss and had the Susvara for a short while on loan. $800 wouldn't even be considered audiophile.
Does this headphone have voice prompts? Like when transitioning from ANC to transparency to nothing? Or when connected or disconnected to a device? I have the HX and there are no voice prompts. Just subtle sounds, which I find very unsatisfactory. Also, is H95 integration to the B&O app solid? I found the app to be buggy as hell on my HX and Android phone. Finally, is the wear sensor reliable? I found the HX's wear sensor worked decently on my phone but not well on my PC. I think B&O needs to work on their app and other software details that Sony, Bose, and even companies like B&O have figured out.
After having my previous beo over ears for 6 years I ordered some replacement ear cuffs. I don't think the replacement cuffs were proper lambs leather.
Or think of them this way, these once in a 20yr purchase of quality headphones are the uquivilent price of a mid-range phone with a 2 yr life span. Buy these, and keep your phone an extra year.
The real problem with these headphones is that they are Bluetooth only. If you want to use them for speaking to people (e.g., on Teams, Discord, etc.), they will switch to "hands-free" mode due to Bluetooth's limited transfer capacity. This results in poor audio quality, making it sound like you have your head in a box. The only solution is to buy an external microphone for use at work or while gaming.
Thanks for sharing your views on the B&O Beoplay H95. Would love to see you release a comparison video of Technics headphones, specifically the F70N vs A800.
The Airpods Max can charge while being used. Doe the B&O Beoplay N95 turn off when you are charging them, or do they work while you are charging them? You said that the ANC is disabled when hardwired, which is less than appealing.
Just ordered the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 im thinking of getting these as s 2nd headphone. Really like this headphone my onlu question can it work with out noise cancelling.
I love B&O and I’d love to own these, but the street price is 300-400€ higher than the AirPods Max. Depending on the color, you could get two AirPods Max for the price of one H95 when they’re regularly on sale. So I don’t think that comparison is really fair.
Apple products are average bias. Honestly. Apple to compare to Bang & Olufsen + LG is like Day and Night. B&O is real High-end Audio Visual limited quantity.
They are excellent but however the headband isn’t good quality, i had mine for a few months before the material came loose on the headband, the customer service is terrible and on that basis I wouldn’t buy them again. The noice cancellation isn’t that good compared to airpod max. So I think you need to have your ears tested
how about the "comfort" and "fit" while you're in horizontal position, enjoying the length of your sofa...? my H9i are falling backwhen I try to lay down - has the H95 same problem...?
The issues you are experiencing with the app could be due to pairing on two devices and installing the app on both devices. If you have paired with two devices and you have the app installed on both devices, you will have to close the app on one device to ensure smooth connection on the other. (Close not uninstall) The app works fine on my E8 and H95s. You are right about the individual instruments. I don’t understand how they are all so clear and distinct.
I just bought the HX online thinking they are super expensive and now looking at the H95 i think they look more comfortable with better earpads.. even many reviews were complaining about the HX rounded earpads! Also, I like that the h95 can be folded but with that price tag, I just do not think it is worth it unless you are millionaire or something :P

No food, no water no nothing. Skipping through tracks (not that modern day low quality, poorly produced noise people call music). I was like a kid playing all my PlayStation 2 games.
We can’t call Airpods Max over priced anymore then 😂
I have the h95 but the volume while using it with iPhone is very low
Go to settings in the iPhone, choose music. There you can switch off the sound limiter
"Don't work too good" LOL excellent delivery!
I'll share this video to my brother, he has B&O everything!!! 😂🤣😂
Let me guess does he have H95's
@@alexsmith1207 I'm buggered if I know mate...
He has a flat multi CD system, 5ft wide ish motorized televisions where the speakers descend from the bottom on call, in at least 2-3rooms, along with art deco pyramid style speakers and some that look like big round disc's on on artist easel's, along with hidden speaker behind art.
Your guess is better than mine 🤔
I heard them against my Sennheisers (M3 Wireless and PXC 550-II) and gotta say they do sound good, much better than Apple stuff, but don't like the design, particularly the headband. But, not as good as my Sennheiser HD 58x/6xx when wired. I'd rather go Bluetooth + Wired, two separately for the same quids. :) 400+ is overkill for Bluetooth, until we get true CD/Hi-Res capability one day.
They are very uncomfortable and lackluster in many metrics. The app is atrocious - buy another brand.
I got the Beoplay H9 3rd Generation free with my Oppo Find X2 Pro and I have never heard my music sound like it does through these. £700 quid though is astronomical. The build quality is amazing but they are a 'I have so much money what shall I spend it on' purchase 💰
lol the b&o h9 sound terrible for a £450 headphones but if you got yours for free then that's truly awesome 👌 I regret buying mine becuse they really are trash for the price
@@jayday4795 what a troll you are, bashing the 3rd gen under every comment

@@amossutandi it was a £1000 phone at the time 😁
I had to decide if I upgrade my H9i to H95 or AirPods Max.
If you are stuck in Apple ecosystem, good but if you have a device from another OS Android, Windows, your Airpods Max "multidevice" wont work....
Would like a pair, but here in Aus, they retail for $1399. Never seem to be offered at a lower price during sales.
That's a knock off
Problem of living on a large island
Nobody mentions how heavy they feel after longer period of wearing them. Its definitely not ideal for pc gaming or longer travels I think cause it will start to hurt after few hours aaaand the difference in weight between these metal Beoplay and my old Beoplay H4 is very significant.
You can not wear them for any length of time - that alone makes these headphones worthless. The app is horrible, and ANC is not so great. They Re also missing many of the conveniences of other brands.
I have the Beoplay HX and they have improved the app so much.
I better hear God for $800 bud.
search HD800s headphone, tell me what you would expect from a headphone cost 2k ;)
Search Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC or the Hifiman Susvara. I still have the Abyss and had the Susvara for a short while on loan. $800 wouldn't even be considered audiophile.
How do they stack up against Sony 1000mx3 s?
Twice the price of the Sony mark 4's, but are they twice as good?
yes, my H9 3rd alone sounds almost twice as good. Imagine the H95...
Sorry..my English not so good. What does "SPOOGE-WORTHY" design mean?
Thanks for sharing your views on the B&O Beoplay H95. Would love to see you release a comparison video of Technics headphones, specifically the F70N vs A800.
This helps a lot..I’m planning to buy 1 in chestnut color.I’m excited!!
I have to admit that I lost concentration on Chris' review upon hearing £700 and then talk of cup size and padding ;-)
I reconsidered life.
My mistress wanted to know if I would get her one!...no longer my mistress
If you think 700 quid is expensive, search Sennheiser he 1
The Airpods Max can charge while being used. Doe the B&O Beoplay N95 turn off when you are charging them, or do they work while you are charging them? You said that the ANC is disabled when hardwired, which is less than appealing.
Got any answer to that?
that soft case looks good for putting these into a travel backpack
Are they really worth the money tho isn't the Airpod Max, Bose QuietComfort Ultra or Sony XM5 not better for price/quality ratio?
If ANC doesn’t work when it’s plugged in, does that mean that it doesn’t work on flights?
Just ordered the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 im thinking of getting these as s 2nd headphone. Really like this headphone my onlu question can it work with out noise cancelling.
Can I connect these wirelessly to the beosound stage while watching tv?
I love B&O and I’d love to own these, but the street price is 300-400€ higher than the AirPods Max. Depending on the color, you could get two AirPods Max for the price of one H95 when they’re regularly on sale. So I don’t think that comparison is really fair.
Apple products are average bias. Honestly. Apple to compare to Bang & Olufsen + LG is like Day and Night. B&O is real High-end Audio Visual limited quantity.
@@RIZFERD What exactly didn’t you like about the AirPods Max when you listened to them, and what exactly was better on the B&O?
This is exactly what ive been looking for!!!
700 quid? I'd have to quit drinking and sell my hairy body to afford those
They are excellent but however the headband isn’t good quality, i had mine for a few months before the material came loose on the headband, the customer service is terrible and on that basis I wouldn’t buy them again. The noice cancellation isn’t that good compared to airpod max. So I think you need to have your ears tested
Im considering buying these, but ive got the 3rd gen beoplays and are they worth the upgrade?
Stupid question but why doesn’t the ANC work on any headphones when you use them wired?
Will they slide off if I gentle nod my head?
Can these B&O h95 sound better by using a dac amp ?
Chris, any chance you could review some DACs with hi Res audio? It's all very confusing
Watching this review as I am wearing my H95.
how about the "comfort" and "fit" while you're in horizontal position, enjoying the length of your sofa...? my H9i are falling backwhen I try to lay down - has the H95 same problem...?
Yes - probably. They are somewhat "back-heavy". Like all high-end products, I would try them out before buying.
Hello, I currently have the AirPods Max and I wonder if the H95 is better in noise reduction than the Apple? thank you because that could help me :)
Is there a problem with beeing from the noise cancellation still? Had that problem with H9i
Can these H95 sound quality comparable to wired Headphones like B&W p9 ?
Is there no option to make phone calls with the headphones?
Hello ! And against the Focal Bathys, Celestee ?
The issues you are experiencing with the app could be due to pairing on two devices and installing the app on both devices.
If you have paired with two devices and you have the app installed on both devices, you will have to close the app on one device to ensure smooth connection on the other. (Close not uninstall)
The app works fine on my E8 and H95s.
You are right about the individual instruments. I don’t understand how they are all so clear and distinct.
I guess the H95 are the best APM alternative for Android users.
I got H95 excellent headphones
Funnily enough I’ve had no issues at all with the app ???
The new Beoplay HX from Bang & Olufsen is more appealing to me honestly. A more manageable sized headphone that isn't as bulky.
Not the same sound quality. But HX is nicer to wear over longer periods - and cheaper. HX sounds like a good pick, it was my second option.
@@fastertove I second that...the sound quality is Super Sayian.
I just bought the HX online thinking they are super expensive and now looking at the H95 i think they look more comfortable with better earpads.. even many reviews were complaining about the HX rounded earpads! Also, I like that the h95 can be folded but with that price tag, I just do not think it is worth it unless you are millionaire or something :P
i find my B&O H6 wire from like 8 years ago sounds more direct and clear than the H95. Anyone know why? Much Appreciated!
ANC and sound compared to Sony XM4???
Will they pair to two devices at once ?
Yes
This Bno vs
Sennheiser momentum 3 .
Which is better ?
Better for what? Do you use an amp?
@@vspatmx7458 If you spend that much money on a headphone, I'd assume the person would want to power it properly and not have weak sound.
I didn't consider using them as bluetooth headphones. Bluetooth does weird stuff and adds some extra noise. Every pair I've tried doesn't get it perfectly (No hiss vs fake sound).
I listen to a R&B, funk, breakbeats, and ambient sounds FTR

How do these compare to the Drop Pandas?
I wonder if they can work with Xbox SX or PS5?
They are normal bluetooth headphones. I don´t see why not.
Yes of course. You connect them with 3,5mm plug into the controller. Bluetooth will not work however.
The Beoplay H9 had a removable battery and you could change the earpads
Did I see a aot background?
I love the look of these but I wouldn't say "forget airpods max" when the price of these new are around $800 usd
I own a pair of B&O H6 (wired) and to be honest if I had to change them I’d save a bit more to get the H95 instead of the AirPods Max.
Owned them too until today. Everything was fine last week. Now I wanted to listen to these but the right ear was soundless. Clapping it worked for some time than it gave up completely.
Well good that the H95 finally can be used with cable because the quality is better as with Bluetooth.
Thank you for your review. How many devices can H95 connect to parallel? How quickly it can auto-switch between 2-3 devices, if possible.
I buy one H95 and still happy with the H95, but B&O hase exchange the first device, no electronic problem, only the head cushion from the headband came off
in the end I got a brand new one, but until then the repair and support process in Germany was pure horror
I had to call countless times because I always got a UPS return label without a barcode
this all took from 11 April 2021 to middle July 2021 !!! the purest horror !!!
That is the reason why I prefer to buy from amazon, because something like this can normally be done in a few days
I don't know exactly how much anymore, but a few phone calls were necessary
The B&O support staff (Germany) were always really, really nice, but in the end it doesn't help if the logistics partner wrong
Now I have made a protection around the fabric of the hanger
The head cushion, like the ear cushions, should also be able to be removed for cleaning, then everything would be perfect
Otherwise the best headset I have ever had in terms of sound, I would buy it again
if you want headphones under 200$ that sound good. The roccat elo x stereo are 50$ and regularly go on sale. 50mm drivers. Technically made by turtle beach with the roccat brand name on them.
How loud do they go, I’ve have B&O cans before and they were way too quiet
I would say they’re still kinda low. That’s why I wasn’t going to buy them today but was offered £220 off because was ex display unit and they were gold ones so I accepted the offer. Using a ap80 x pro player so it can greatly make sound louder. But generally they sound kinda low.
Great review. Very informative.
You absolutely skipped the Aluminium carrying case. Why use a pouch when you get a super stable aluminium case?
What a beautiful piece of tech.
What’s your opinion on how they compare to the B&W Px8’s.
Can you turn off the ANC completely? Xxx
Liked this video at the smell test.
How is comparing them to BW px8?
Much better looking than airpods max maybe a little more expensive but also better quality (not metal or alu) in this price range i think they are worth it.
This headphones good for movies too ?
