For those curious about the Braids + Grist interaction at the end of Round 1, Braid's ability will use last known information to determine that a planeswalker was the type of permanent that was sacrificed, even though Grist is a creature once it hits the yard.
This deck needs bowmasters. It acts a removal, feeds pox but lets you keep a threat, and punishing decks as they try drawing out of the squeeze, assuming they don’t do it naturally.
A couple months ago I was looking for fun build around cards to brew a modern deck when I stumbled upon Algae. I thought it would be super funny doing the urborg thing but couldn’t afford them so I didn’t end up building it. So happy to see you playing a deck utilizing it. I also love smallpox a lot.
I feel like not adding the stone in for the yagmoth match was a mistake since it turns off all their undying shenanigans as well as the infinite combo it enables
53:26 can't you just necromentia the rhinos here? you take four, and then edict the last rhino on your next turn. Letting them get to three mana doesn't matter much when they have no more rhinos
I loved playing pox back in the day. Not sure what's legal in Modern, but I used to run some death clouds for fun in my pox builds. They are absolute blowouts if you can resolve one for X=2 or 3 with a planeswalker in play.
This is pretty close to my modern deck of choice. Stopped playing before Ring, Beans and BowBoy was introduced to modern, and was splashing red for kroxa, W&6 and bolts, basically instead of algea and the top end creatures you have here. Hope this does well in todays meta.
Dross is the one card that seems like an odd fit. It really only gets back Braids, who is legendary. We have a million ways to find (and recur) Takenuma. And we have other great Saga targets pre/post board. Otherwise, the deck construction seems great
Brian is such a control player that the targets the opponent with mill effects while playing a Loam Bloodghast deck. Seriously, why would you not mill yourself with Witherbloom?
I think algae pox is a bit too cute in a deck thats already trying to be cute with pox itself. I would rather see that slot be something like original black braids or just more removal.

And PoxNRoll is back.
Now we just need some ninjas and it'll be just like the good ol' days.

Feels like every black deck needs bowmasters. What a boring af card
@@mpepp9Serious I read o.p comment as a joke at first
@@mpepp9more like black being kinda boring/bad on modern. Wotc needs to improve the color theme.
@@WrennNsixyou say that with a straight face as Bowmasters LITERALLY does what Black has done since the beginning of Magic?
@arielquelme except not every blue deck needs or even can utilize snap.
No matter what else, thoroughly roasting Amulet Titan with Pox in Modern is a great win.
53:15 I think I’m always just slamming necromentia here. We know 4/5 of opps cards so with 2 random draws they have very few outs to winning.
Reasonable line

Pox is my favorite archetype to watch on this channel
I feel like not adding the stone in for the yagmoth match was a mistake since it turns off all their undying shenanigans as well as the infinite combo it enables
I'm a simple man.
I see smallpox, I click.

They would just sack one of the 1-2 zombies that it makes :/
My man playing vengeful pharaoh, love to see it
Bosh Pox is my favorite Bosh... and Pox
Pox content? Christmas miracles really do exist in BoshNRoll land!!
It's fine that algae is blank in most games, it can just be a Liliana discard. It's like the pox version of pitching storm crow to force of will.

Pay the pox price, puff the pox pack, print the pox puns. Pox, pox, pox, smoke the pox pack every day all day!!! 🤯🤯🤯

It does also get Grist back.
@lugvantrug5967 Oh good point
I always want to make Pox work, but I've never ended up putting a deck together for it
I’m basic. I see life from the loam. I click.
Omfg sammmmeeeee 💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️
The best way to end a year 😍

Is sac’ing the spreading algae to Braids ever a consideration?
I am SCREAMING at my screen in round 3 sb against Yawgmoth. STONE OF ERECH ITS FOR THIS MATCHUP
Wait, smallpox IS modern legal. how did that never cross my mind...
My question is- Why no blocks diamond?
Round 3 u discarded Mite to pox. Why not loam and get ur loam back on ur next turn?
53:15 necromentia this turn, go to 7 from next attack, then edict on their following turn. Stabilized.
Brian is such a control player that the targets the opponent with mill effects while playing a Loam Bloodghast deck. Seriously, why would you not mill yourself with Witherbloom?
Hold up, isnt black Braids in Modern, the original one?
As of MH2, yes. But costing four mana in present Modern with no Dark Ritual makes her not a great option.
Just sitting into the deck tech, but i better hear some Waaaaghs in this vid.
please make a legacy version!
I have a LOT of Legacy pox already posted on the channel if you want to search for it. :)

Obligatory algorithmic contribution
Bosh gang
loam pox 8rack might be better, maybe
