Saw them for the first time in 1977 and it’s STILL the best show I’ve ever seen! Topped only by EWF two years later! Nothing could match the vibe in that room!

EWF, the baddest band on the planet. I had the great pleasure of seeing them live in 1976, The Spirit Tour, and they blew the roof off the sucker that night. They played for 3 hours, came back out after a 5 minute standing ovation and played for another hour, and everybody was ecstatic.

Just watched 5 concert clips of EWF from 78 to this one which I think is 91 or 92.....damn. George Clinton created a monster and probably didn't even know it. During an interview Verdine said they opened for Parliament/Funkadelic in the 70's and got blown away,after the show they said " that will NEVER happen again". Reminds me of the cliche a setback is only a set-up for a comeback. Everybody in this group always seemed to be in great physical and mental health. Maurice was one of the BEST band leaders point blank period.

Because he’s fake. He doesn’t play bass for real. The keyboard player plays bass parts or often there is a 2nd bassplayer playing or they play under a bass track. So Fraudine White can jump, dance, do his hair and run on stage. He’s a stage performer not a Bassplayer.

Verdine White @ Sadowsky bass NAMM 2017 (Smooth Jazz Family) -- Sandowsky doesn't have signature models for guys that can't play. Nathan East doesn't present awards to bass players that can't play. I'm a lifelong bass player (toured too). VW is one of the masters I listened to a lot.

Kirk Sledge He’s def NOT. I’ve done some serious research, and as a Bassplayer myself, I found out that FRAUDINE White is fake. He doesn’t play the bass real. Not on stage and not on the EW&F albums. Bassplayers will see immediately that some things just doesn’t seem right. His hands movement are not correct with the bassline, his hands positioning are not correct with the tones, he “playes” or better yet mimicks the bassline the same way in each song. His bass demo’s at NAMM are BS, his interviews WITH bass guitar are always the same. He holds his bass, tells theoretic BS about his sounds but never actually play bass during interviews. On stage, there is always a 2nd bassplayer playing the bassline. His bass solo’s are wack and not groovy or funky at all. His solo’s are 3 chords and he keeps repeating it. I’ve seen him on stage dancing and running, but his hands weren’t correct with the bassline. Even the keyboard player play Basslines. Some say EW&F play with a bass track so FRAUDINE can run dance and fix his hair. Try to do some research on your own. EW&F are legends, but FRAUDINE White is fake AF! I play EW&F songs on bass, my hands positioning are way different than FRAUDINE. How the hell can he play every song on the same position?? He’s the legendary mimicking bassplayer. Time to reveal this stupid secret.

Drums.
