I'm content with my distance but erratic in terms of direction. I struggle to get the club face back to square consistently. In a typical round I seem to hit about 1/3 left, 1/3 right and 1/3 straight! I used to struggle with a slice. The slice can sometimes creep back into my game but most of my wayward shots are now usually a push or a pull.

From the first swing after watching this video , the results have been baffling. In recent months I've just wanted to leave the driver at home. Now all I want to do is smoke driver off the tee. Thank you Danny , amazing lessons!

After watching your videos I went to the range this evening and I noticed when I rotated back far enough I was blazing my drives down the middle but I have the hardest time keeping it going. It seems like the longer I'm there the more sloppy I get and start to forget what I'm doing....LOL This year I'm going to start spending more time on the range than on the golf coarse. Thank you for taking the time to teach us, you explain the swing and path in a way that I can really understand and it seems so simple. You have got to be the best swing coach on you tube and there are a lot of good coaches out there.

I've been playing golf for years but have only used driver for the last 5 or so and have always struggled with a slice. Despite having a strong grip, I struggle from both coming over the top, AND an open club face. I watched this video a couple of times and something in my mind clicked, so i went to the range yesterday. I gave this a go, swinging slow and started to hit straighter drives. I have a slight issue with the last part, the extension to make room, and i topped a few, but i think i just started leaning back too far.
The key with this is patience and self control. I found that after a few straight ones, i naturally started swinging faster, but Danny warns that you need to grind this feeling first, before adding speed.
I think I'll be perfectly happy swinging at 60%, coming up a bit shorter but hitting more fairways.
I'm vowing to watch no more driver slice fix videos, as I'm going to stick to this for the new season.

Absolutely love your last few week’s videos Danny and the easy explanation of the golf circle concept and how this has been developed - as a senior golfer it all makes sense not to be too regimented in your approach and just ‘let it go’ with the snap you refer to - just need to make sure you introduce the correct plane on the circle and the ‘low point’ and ‘shoulder circle’ advice has helped greatly!

Danny ... yet another great video with you and your dad. He won't be there forever, so enjoy your times right now.
I am an avid fan, but I just couldn't seem to be consistent with my swing path. I went to my 'local' golf pro for a lesson. He showed me that I was actually swinging like a barrel around my waist.Inside out/YES ... but the wrong swing plane. We made several corrections, and I'm off and running again. At the end of the lesson, he left to get me a prop. In the meantime, I grabbed driver and made one swing on the golf computer. Rocketed down the middle of the fairway with a small draw. Bullseye!!!
Not bad for a 69 y/o ... Keep up the good work!!

I have struggled with this for years. I am one of those golfers who is left handed, but swings a club right handed. Some have told me that is a reason it makes it so difficult in releasing the club and creating extension but I can’t seem to figure it out. Mind you now this is when I am in the down swing. I began to draw the ball when I have NEVER hit a draw with my driver in my life !! I adjusted my shoulders and ball positions and hit the ball dead straight or a 5 yard fade . This was with no range time only swinging the club at home and alignment when I started to play !! Thank you again !!!!

Danny, you have this wonderful ability to be able to intuitively know what it is I'm struggling with in my game. My driving has been worse than poor for the last couple of months, so I stopped playing and tried to figure out what was wrong. I had come to the conclusion that whilst my backswing was good, my follow through was restricted and tight. I was wondering how to work on that when up popped the lesson. Perfect. Thanks. My problem has been should i sway, twist, jump up and down well two important things for me first not to rotate torso and shoulders through the shot this cause me to push left and hook also the back swing KEY the lifting of the arms instead of rotation out of correct swing plan also timing the release right through the ball was giving me such good results still need to improve on my aim but i am a happy bunny.

Haven't been able to play for a couple of months, but before the break I had an awful slice of the tee!. The last lesson with the circle and setup was a revelation, but then you showed your dad getting in his own way on the release, and I felt an instant recognition, that's me!!!
As soon as I can get to the range I have got to try this, thank you👏👏👏🏌️

@Danny Maude there are a lot of instructors on RUclips but not all can impart information efficiently, clearly and precisely in a way that it can make sense to the recipient . You sir have a gift of teaching that has all the above mentioned Qualities . First time the driver swings mechanics have made complete sense. maybe now I can let go of my swing dyslexia . I will have to watch this several more times

I get the full circle ⭕️ and swing speed matters - what about on tight fairways? How do you adjust or tone it down for accuracy to ensure you stay inbounds?

Excellent! Is there a connection between the inclination of the circle of the shoulder turn with the circle of the club head? Or how do you feel about this shoulder circle? You direct your left shoulder down towards the ball?

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  Год назад

There is, but the main role of the show the turn is to bring the club around the body. The main role of the arms is to take the club upwards.

Great Video Danny all goes well building up whoosh and high finish and good club speed and circle. But when trying with ball on tee I find it really difficult to get through to finish and a massive speed reduction from practice swing and circle not completed. I find myself stopping club head at about shoulder height. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and keep the tips coming.

Very common, realise that we collect the ball on the swing circle. We don’t just hit at the ball

Great video Danny. My main issue is that when I try to put some force into the drive I shank it left. Are there any tips to be more aware of keeping the right distance from the ball. I am.a senior but very subtle.

The distance discussion at around 7:00 is fantastic. Well described. I struggle with starting my swing too quickly (casting) and then I struggle to get the club back to ball with any power. The rhythm description is so important. Timing is everything.

When I was 22 yrs. old I bought my first lesson from our assistant club pro for $20 for 45 min. He said, "Trust your triangle, and trust your left side." I had no idea what that meant, but after 45 minutes I was hitting draws with my 9 iron (I still can't believe it). That lesson is echoed by everything you just laid out. I love your channel. Thank you from me and my 12 yr. old son.

You could have them level or behind the ball. Just recognise that the more behind the ball it is the more the swing circle will head left

Danny thank you for the Circle pictorials. I have really benefited from realizing there are multiple circles within the larger total swing. My thoughts are more focused on the circle of my shoulders and this has definitely improved iron impact and driver swing speed.

Great video, thanks . I feel my shoulders are “hunched” as though I am reaching too far when using driver and wondering if I should try pulling them back, which will lower where my hands and bring them closer.

    • @DanielMaude

It’s ok to have your shoulders slightly hunched but your arms shouldn’t be stretched away from the body just hanging down

    • @DanielMaude

Absolutely, some will feel they feel more over the ball with the irons at strike but you must always extend at some point

I think you did a video some time ago with the driver upside down to exaggerate the "whoosh" sound in the hitting area. This really emphasised that. 👏. Good stuff DM.

Great explanation. My issue isn’t getting low on the shot. My issue is trying to get my weight forward while the body is leaning back. I can try working on this set up and swing circle but if all of my weight stays on my trail foot the results are terrible and I almost never hit anywhere near the centre of the clubface. Even on the rare occasions I do I tend to hit a very low shot.
