I'm currently going through a very toxic breakup with someone I thought I would marry soon. I almost got rid of my needles and hooks but one day it hit me, "I'm not gonna let a man steal what brings me joy." And when I picked up my needles I felt so comfortable knitting my scarf that I realized at that moment, he made me feel wrong for ever touching hooks and needles and I refuse to let it go. I'm currently working on making things for myself to make myself look like a presentable woman and things for my future home. Already picked out the theme of the living room and my bedroom and working hard on making things before I even move. Want it on hand when I move into where that is. I understand how hard it can be to pick something back up especially when it comes to mental health (mine is so poor right now that I can't even make up my mind to eat or not.) All I can say is it will come to you and your hook will always be there for you.
It's great to see you working slowly forward and not pressuring yourself. I hope JuJu has met a nice boy. She and Lucas are loving children. You have taught them well.
Don’t ever feel bad about airing your feelings. We all have those days but just too proud to share them. In my eyes it makes you stronger than you think. You get my respect on that one!,,,,
I get writer's block when stressed or overwhelmed. My husband always tells me to write a short story or even journal to get the creativity out without pressure or expectations. It is helpful. One should never be ashamed to say you feel you need to change due overwhelmed feelings or other things. You need to do what is good for you and makes you feel good.

I find spinning very calming and grounding. If I don't know what I want to work on, but feel the need to do something, I spin. I love it and I feel better when I'm done. Do what makes you happy.
That’s so sweet about juju’s date he has to be a good kid. I never dated in high school. I went from high school to the U S Navy and just before I went to boot camp I met the love of my life and married at 18 so no date to married! I had 5 wonderful years with him. He was killed along with his parents he was 25 and I was 23. He was the best and gave me a son and I was pregnant with my daughter. Two years later I married my husband and we’ve been married 52 years and had another baby girl. She’s 50 years old! Was a sad but happy times too. God has been so good to me and he has your back too just lean on Him and he will give you grace, wisdom, and mercy💕in Ohio
Jennifer, it looks like you did exactly what my therapist told me years ago to push through my episodes of mental and emotional paralysis that prevented me from doing what needed to be done or doing what I loved doing: start small, with something that doesn’t matter and that you can potentially throw out… but that is so small you can get it done in minutes. Build from that. Well done my dear. And thank you for putting yourself out there and showing us how you felt. That takes a lot of courage. Your makes are, as always beautiful. I’m a spinner myself and I absolutely love your yarns. Never mind that your wheel-spun yarns are thick-thin. Synthetic fibres are not easy to spin. Bamboo is frankly hard to spin (I really don’t care for it myself). It’s fantastic that you harnessed your natural tendency to give and to do for others to find another way to create something, reconnecting yourself with fibre arts. Hang in there. You’ve got this. One step at a time, like all of us. You are a wonderful, gorgeous being and way more special and wonderful than you think you are.

We don't need to know more than she's happy and excited, and that he's behaving himself 😅 I don't want her to get mad at you for telling us, but she, too, has an army at her back! I've been in a rut myself, I had to stop working on a pattern I'm testing for 😢 because I just couldn't physically do it anymore. I'm allowing myself a break, but I like the idea of just a simple granny square to keep picking up the hook. I don't like granny squares, but I definitely can make any stitch squares to keep myself going! Especially since I'm a part of my local Warm Up America group. I made a cross stitch hanging for my grandson’s best friend’s Bar Mitzvah. I made some mistakes that I thought and thought about ripping out. I didn’t as they weren’t noticeable. Later his mom told me that in the Jewish tradition only things made by God are perfect. Jewish artists usually make intentional mistakes. What a win! So I crocheted a sampler afghan. My first! It’s full of mistakes and I love it! It reminds me that I’m not perfect but I’m always learning. I made a second of the same sampler afghan. What’s really fun about it is that it has entirely different mistakes. It belongs to my grandson and he loves it. It’ll go to college with him and keep him wrapped in my love. 😊❤🎉 Your yarns are gorgeous! You’re going to have to sell them!! You’ve already got great names for them! Sunflower and Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

Crochet when you're ready, I would think that spinning on your spinning wheel would be much more therapeutic and comforting.Watching the wheel spin, hearing the rhythm of the pedal and seeing the beautiful colors of the yarn,etc. Your hair does look beautiful! I've been working on a one skein project scarf that is a double v stitch fine mohair make. It has a super fuzzy halo which feels like a long haired cat...very comfy.

I have to tell you, you were making so many things in such a short amount of time. I was somewhat jealous. Most of the time I get one project a month really worked on and you seemed to do five or more. Give yourself time and relax. We don’t need a make every week just a peek at what you are working on. I felt a huge relief that you got that out there. I hate it for you but at the same time it made me feel less alone. So thank you. You should not feel embarrassed at all. I have to tell you, you were making so many things in such a short amount of time. I was somewhat jealous. Most of the time I get one project a month really worked on and you seemed to do five or more. Give yourself time and relax. We don’t need a make every week just a peek at what you are working on. A video of you spinning with wind chimes is also fine. Take time for yourself, we value you. We will be here when ever you film.

I felt a huge relief that you got that out there. I hate it for you but at the same time it made me feel less alone. So thank you. You should not feel embarrassed at all. The unspoken rule on here seems to be suffer in silence. And we need to change that. I walked away last year because I was so miserable doing this but was afraid to even try to explain what was really going on because it can backfire even when it absolutely shouldn't.
I love your knitted hat. My girls are 24 and I'm so paranoid when they go on dates. I make them take a taser and pepperspray, pin locations, etc 😅😅😅

I make granny squares out of beautiful colors. If that doesn’t work I look at flowers or other things I love. Usually this will get me inspired. If not,I have bunches of squares for a project. Hang in there, Jen, things will get better.
Feelings are not predictable. Talked to hubby this morning about upping my antidepressant when I see the doctor next week.
