Hey Hey You Two! Sir Pigmus the Great is my choice 🤣 Another stellar video....sorry you froze your buns off, but these adventures are what makes "wandering" amazing! Every new day makes you stronger, wiser and appreciate the warmth of sun rays so much more 🙂🙃
🐷Sir Pigmus the Great! 👑Makes me (Lauren) think he came from Narnia. Love those books - and movies too of course! And, agreed on the point of wandering. 💙 Every day since the Texas Freeze where it's been warm and sunny outside, I basically jump out of the Airstream in the morning singing to the birds like I think I'm Snow White or something. 🤣
Stuart, true story, I (Daniel) would have never thought about it until you mentioned it, but you’re probably right! 😬 I have no doubt someone will make a comment calling me out on it. Actually, I hope someone does. That’s how we’ve been learning from this experience. We genuinely appreciate all of these comments so so much! 🙌 Daniel
Daniel you did nothing wrong with laying it down for a short transport. It is best to transport standing up for 2 reasons. A) so it doesn’t roll around and get damaged. It is lay it down, make sure it’s secure. And B) in the event it gets damaged, if it’s on its side the valve at the top may (key word being may) not do it’s job. With that being said, it was in the back of your truck and secure. I wouldn’t lay it in my back seat, but you were more then safe. And B) you only drove maybe a couple of miles. I wouldn’t travel cross country with it laying down, but I watched my dad lay them down for short runs to the store as a kid. I have always done it and good news..... I have all my arms and legs and I have never damaged a tank! 🤓🤓🤓🤓
I agree with other comments, def no need for the “thingamagig” lol. Also agree with other comments that if your only going down the street a short distance, carefully laying your propane tank flat shouldn’t be an issue. Love the channel!! You guys are learning soo much, such a great team.
Yes, not full time, but recreational in the spring, summer, and fall. We are from the northeast so winter is our off season. Lots of beautiful rv resorts up here to see if you guys make this way!
You may want, to consider putting your filter at the Y splitter. That has 2 advantages. First that added weight is not hanging off the side of the trailer putting strain on the trailer fitting. Second is it is hard to defeat gravity when filling your fresh water tank and that added filter weight was giving you problems. Looking forward to part two.
Very good points, Peter! I'm (Daniel) going to start hooking up the filter at the y splitter from now on. This comment is one of the MANY reasons we love RUclips! We've learned so much from the feedback we've received, so thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. We both genuinely appreciate it! Lauren + Daniel

Water hose tip number 1. Coil hose up and secure with a Velcro wrap. Then turn it around like the hands of a clock and the water will drain out in a few revolutions. Tip 2. There are little white caps you can get that cover the ends of the hose the keep bugs and dirt out. They have little holes to allow any moisture to evaporate to keep mold or mildew from growing. They are cheap and your water hose always smells fresh and clean. Top 3. Put your water filter on your pressure gauge side. The city water inlet doesn’t like that much weight hanging off it. It’s plastic.
Thanks for the wonderful tips, Jody! We began placing the inline inter at the gauge side recently. You are correct - it keep the weight off of the plastic inlet. Also, do you have a link to those little white plastic caps? We'd love to order a set! It sounds like a 'must have' accessory. Lauren + Daniel

It was definitely a learning experience. 😬 Hopefully, it'll be our first and last experience with a snow storm. We've realized we're just not cut out for that kind of cold. @@Wanderlocal Thanks for the reply❤. Yes, definitely a lesson learned - the hard way. Hope you are back in warmer weather. I am originally from northern IL/southern WI so am used to colder weather. You kids are a barrel of laughs...that was a great adventure...only two words of advice "buddy heater" get a couple of monoxide monitors and crack a roof vent and you will be warm as a bug in rug...you can get a adapter to fill the little propane cylinders of the big ones on your airstream!!.😎❤🇺🇲
Great tip, Brad! We would have paid ANYTHING to be as warm as a bug in a rug during this pickle of a situation! 🤣 We'll have to loo into these Buddy Heaters. Thanks for watching - Lauren + Daniel
To avoid the spray, when you turn the water off, open the ‘other’ side of your Y adapter (where you had the flush hose) and the pressure will be released to that side. Then you can unscrew the hose with no spray. Oink.
Nice job on the vid and yes good cliffhanger, im looking forward 4 pt 2. As a Floridian, I take out cash 💸 with water, gas, and food. Was it cash that you guys forgot?
cmvprod, good call. We didn't think to do that either. Thankfully it didn't bite us in the butt this time, but we'll put that on our list for emergencies in the future! Our biggest mistake in this crazy saga was not getting gas though and we're going to pay for it big time in tomorrow's episode. 🤦♀️
@cmvprod, yup. We had propane for days. In fact, it took us a full week to go through one of our 40lb tanks. On the other hand, we froze our butts off thanks to not getting gas. 🤦♀️

Just checked the "shopping cart theory." Happy to report I am a shopping cart returner. Glad you survived your Texas trip (watched PT 2 first). Love your AS.
Thanks, Kay! Yay, glad you're one of us who returns the cart! 🙌 Oh, and we're glad we survived too. It was definitely a learning experience. 😬 Hopefully, it'll be our first and last experience with a snow storm. We've realized we're just not cut out for that kind of cold. We prefer the warm sun! 🌞 How about you? Are you a fan of the cold?
@@Wanderlocal Thanks for the reply❤. Yes, definitely a lesson learned - the hard way. Hope you are back in warmer weather. I am originally from northern IL/southern WI so am used to colder weather. I actually like it! However, I don't think I would want to RV camp in those conditions. Right now I am lusting after an AS and love your Classic. You are a cute couple. Keep up the good work 😎.
Thanks, Kay! Well if you ever have any questions about an AS with unbiased feedback, you can always count on us! 🙌
Oink.
LilPeanut, that makes perfect sense! [insert huge face palm here] Thanks for the tip. It is greatly appreciated. Oink Oink 🐽
Awesome ... Did you leave the fill up station by MIDNIGHT?⛄
OMG We totally need to go camping with y'all!! Daniel is just too much and I totally there for it!
🤣🤣🤣 Let's do it, Chris! We can't promise it will be disaster free, but it will be adventure full. 🏕
@@Wanderlocal let me know if y’all are ever in Georgia! See what we can do!
@@Wanderlocal dang, I thought u guys got gas but it was propane thar u got, right ✅ ok safe travels my friends!🙏🚙🍷
@cmvprod, yup. We had propane for days. In fact, it took us a full week to go through one of our 40lb tanks. On the other hand, we froze our butts off thanks to not getting gas. 🤦♀️
The suspense is building! Glad you guys survived!
Ahhhh!! I know right? We're even super excited about the second video coming out on Sunday. It still feels surreal that it happened. We're very glad we survived as well. 🤣
up north it is -40 without wind chill
👀 We would probably die in weather like that! That's incredibly cold. 🥶 Yikes. It sound like this would have been a walk in the park for you. We still have so much to learn! 🙌 We'll get there. Thanks for watching, James. We really appreciate it. Lauren + Daniel
Dude one thing you should know about propane tanks you should never leave them on their sides when you get them filled you could lose fluid
Stephanie, thank you for this comment! Someone mentioned this earlier, and I (Daniel) wasn’t sure of the reasoning. I know we have a lot of new RV followers, so hopefully they’ll all see this and learn from our mistakes. Lauren and I genuinely appreciate it when we get these sort of comments. Thank you again! 🙏
@@Wanderlocal our propane at our warehouse is stored on their sides for months on end in a container designed to keep them on their sides. Shouldn’t be an issue.
Yay! I've been waiting for this :)
Thanks, Sarita! We hope you enjoy the video. 🙌 Lauren+Daniel
Name it poopcicle since it will have forever be known to have gotten it's name during the texas snow storm 😁
Good name recommendation, Chelo! This little piggy definitely took the worst of the cold weather outside! 🤣 It was frozen solid (it’s filled with water) for several days! 🥶 Lauren + Daniel
40s is shorts weather in Minnesota
Wool socks on your feet when it is cold. Wander Local needs some made in the USA reusable grocery bags. Another informative and entertaining video.
Definitely need the bags - that should be next on their list....
Nancy, yes!! We definitely need wool socks. I (Lauren) asked Daniel where the socks his mom gets him for Christmas every year, and he said he donated them in our last minimalism purge. We will definitely be keeping them this year! 🎄
As for the reusable bags, we actually do typically use these (although we've had them forever so I don't know if they are made in America). In our hurry to get supplies I left them in the car. 🤦♀️ But, it sure would be cool to have American-made ones. Gonna have to look for those!
You videos are always cool and we learn from your mistakes.
Thanks, Greg! We sure do make plenty of them, so keep on watching. 🤣It's like an entire RUclips channel dedicated to what NOT to do! We're hoping everyone learns from our mistakes, because, as you probably know (case in point our awning video), mistakes can be costly! 😬 L+D
@@Wanderlocal as long as your mistakes are not the costly ones like damaging the side of the Airstream your doing pretty good I think.
@Greg Samples, thankful the worst thing we've done so far was break the awning. That wasn't cheap, but it sure as heck wasn't as bad as side damage. 🤦♀️
Elegant RV Pilates
True story, Linda, the one time I (Daniel) tried Pilates my muscles all seized up and the instructor had to come and comfort me while they relaxed. That was the first and last time I tried Pilates! 🤣I have so much respect for people that do Pilates. Lauren, on the other hand, is great at all of it!
Well if you thought 40 ° was cold you should come to Michigan this winter we had some - 4 ° I love watching you two 😉😀
wessebaggers, 🤣, not a chance! We love Michigan, but if it's going to be that cold you can count us out. We should be cycling back through Michigan later this summer - so thankfully no weather below zero - we hope. 🥶 Thanks for watching! Lauren + Daniel
Its ok Dan this Texas boy dont do cold either if its below 80 I need a coat myself and making mistakes is how you learn you know
Thanks, Terry! 🙏 This is Daniel, and I concur. I feel like us Florida and Texas boys aren’t made for this kind of crazy weather. Much appreciated. 🙌
@@Wanderlocal Thats right sir cant wait till Sunday too see what comes next here at our house in Oklahoma we had 18 inches of snow on top of 3 inches of ice yuck
18” of snow! 🥶 That is unreal. I’d be mostly concerned with that ice, especially when driving. Oh, you’re going to see how well I do in this Sunday’s video. It does NOT go well. 😬

Insane cold weather 😂😂😂 give me a break!!!
😂 Let me add the asterisk. *insane cold weather for Floridians.
@@Wanderlocal 😂😂😂♥️
40 degrees is getting on to cold. 50’s is mildly chilly. 60’s is brisk.
We like your temp scale. There were parts of Texas in the single digits. That is just WAY too cold. Brrrr 🥶No human should have to endure those kind of temps. Especially, those from Texas or Florida! 🤣
@@Wanderlocal
I remember single digits while growing up in Boston. Made my lungs hurt and my nostrils stick together. Which is why I’ve been in Florida since 1965. I don’t do cold. I don’t mind “visiting” snow. But damned If I want to have to live with it ever again.
Amen to that, Linda! Florida is the best, which is why we call it home. 🙌
Hamela Porker!

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
🤣 We enjoyed your TED Talk throughly! 🤣 These are great!
You two are a cute couple and tell a good story, love your stile of telling you story. I am slowly going through your vlogs. Other good story tellers are Newstate nomads and our journey in myles if you like watching other Vlogs. Have you thought about investing in lithium batteries?
Hi Richard! Thank you so much for the kind words. 🙏 We both genuinely appreciate it. Oh, and we just checked out the other channels (and subscribed). You’re right! They also do a wonderful job of telling a story. That’s something we pride ourselves on doing with our channel, so it’s nice to see others doing the same! Oh, and we are DEFINITELY doing our homework on a lithium, inverter, solar upgrade! 🙌
Pig name....”Poopsey the 🐖” or to go with a Muppet theme “Miss Poopsey”. Was excited to see the video!! Glad you all made it out safely.
🤣Okay, Miss Poopsey is adorable. 🤣This video is mild compared to how crazy things get in the Sunday video, so we're super glad we made it out safely too! We learned so much about our Airstream during the Texas Freeze.

pig: "Mrs Rosa" - means pink in Portuguese and also the name of the rose flower, which has a beautiful perfume. (suitable for the use) :)
Yes!!! We love this one. It would definitely be ideal if she had a little perfume to her. 🤣❤️

🤣 Googling this now. 🤣
Stuart, I’ve heard the same thing. I don’t think it’s a good idea
Hi Brian! Thank you for watching, We got our butts handed to us on this one, right?! 🤣 Lauren + Daniel
The reason it fills past 100% is because of the overflow / vent line. That also pumps it to the ground just like leaving the dump valve open lol.
🤦♀️SNeal5966, well now we know! 🤣At least it didn't break anything. That's always a win for us. 🤣
Y’all r silly. It’s like 50 degrees. That’s barely sweater weather. Up north, they’d be in shirtsleeves.
Don’t trust the tank level indicators.
Consider wearing other colors. Kinda looks like y’all are wearing long johns.
Do you need to keep the flush hose connected all the time? Seems like a great way to have a Mt. Vesewageius moment, if you accidentally turn. It on.
Steve Powell
Highly recommend the Berkey water system, I would never drink RV park water. Your water filter is not sufficient.
Steve Powell, we've heard a lot about the Berkey water system. We're gonna have to do more research on that, because we agree with you. We never drink the water from the campgrounds. But, bottled water isn't ideal either. Thanks for the tip!
Sooey seems to be a fitting name.
❤️ Love it, Linda! With your extensive home services background we knew you’d come up with something clever. 🙂
How about "Piggy" or "Piglet" or "Piggy-Poo"??? Yeah, I know ... they're not exactly original ... but kinda cute, methinks!
wethinks those are great names as well! 🙌 Thanks for the recommendations, Timothy. Lauren + Daniel
@@Wanderlocal Thanks for replying, y'all! Another possibility ... "HAMBONE"
Why didn’t you move someplace warmer when you could for the week? Isn’t that why you are mobile?
Yeah, that would normally be the case. But, we just didn't' expect it to get that bad and for such an extended period of time. By the time we new we were in trouble, we were too far South. All the roads to get us anywhere other than Mexico were iced over. 🤷♀️

Magnum PIG was a good one. (Love Magnum. Daa daa daa DUM digga dum digga dum digga dum) Notorious PIG wouldve been good too. I just had to have one. Gonna name mine Sewie Griffin. Lol.

Lowlander or lancewood , made up from letters in your logo
Robert, this one is totally getting brownie points for creativity. Lowlander esp. since our Sewie pig has tiny little legs. 🤣🐷
