Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to share this quilt video with you--its definitely one of my favorites! If you plan on making it, let me know what colors you would choose in a comment :)
Tiny Orchard Quilts what a wonderful quilt... I have some Kaffe Fassett Collective fat quarters jumping up and down saying use me. As I’m registered blind I’ll be cutting quarter square triangles with my AccuQuilt 12 inch Qube (they come together to make a 6 inch square)... Now do I go to see if I have enough variety and start a new project or do I continue with my current project... silly question I’m off to see what I have available and if I need to find any more
I am thinking of a lot of different colour ways. Some like an ombre style that would lighten to one end, like red, pink, & white, or red, orange & yellow. Or even a stronger contrast like black aqua & purple. What a lovely quilt.!
I love your videos. I love how you talk clearly you don’t pronounce your words weird you don’t smack your mouth in your videos you just say what you have to say and you have a very calm tone. I’m watching these videos to learn how to sew and learn new techniques and so many people who sew, talks so fast that it gives me anxiety. I would like to see you do videos where you actually do a project in real time like let us watch you sew and talk us through it. Maybe a live
I recently found your page👍👍👍👍👍. I love it. And I love this quilt. You’re very easy to watch and listen to. You explain things very clearly but you don’t over explain. I like that. Thanks
I have been collecting fat quarters (and a few eighths) of batiks for ages to make a HST quilt, and couldn't find one I liked... now I'm torn between this one and the Rainbow Gems! Maybe using some cream prints as background...maybe my rainbow batik, just to fully embrace the chaos. I need someone to choose for me. Like another commenter said, thank you for doing all the brain hurty stuff!
WOW. You did it again!!!!! I LOVE IT>>>>> I have a ton of layer cakes. Can you imagine the size it will end up being ????? Awesome. Thank you for the free download. ❤
I love this quilt. I've had it in the back of my mind since I first saw it. Am so glad you added notes about making bigger squares for a bigger quilt. Also appreciate your suggesting we use more fabric patterns. I will definitely make it scrappy! Thanks Megan.
Thank you for your video. I always wondered how gradient quilts were made. It will be another project to add to my queue and a great way to use up scraps too.
This looks so complicated, but your rationale makes so much sense. The fact that you rotate blocks makes it look comp,ex, smashing and wonderful. How much fun this will be to make!
G'day, I've been wanting to make a gradient quilt (well 4 for the grand children) this tutorial will help immensely, takes away all the brain hurty stuff, lol. Thank you so much
@@TinyOrchardQuilts Yes. I agree. Thank You for doing the "brain hurty stuff". I could tell there was some kind of permutations and combinations math going on but, math was never my strong point. Thank You.
Love your pattern! Glad you did the "brain drain" math for me, so I thank you. Those are my 3 favorite colors, too.I'll post a picture when I'm finished.
I made this quilt and it's really beautiful and with a little concentration it's really easy so worth making one of the few quilts I want to make again x
Your quilt is beautiful. You did a great job explaining all of the combinations. I will have to check out my stash and see if I have any combinations that will go together as well as these do. Thank you for sharing this great design with us.
Very cute! I think I'm gonna make one for my sweet nephew. He loves to spend the night with us and will enjoy having a quilt made just for him for use at my house.
Love this. You do great, simple, understandable patterns. I've been avoiding this one because I thought it would be too complicated, but it is NOT! Thks ever so much for the creativity.
Love this pattern. I feel a little overwhelmed thinking about transitioning all those colors to radiate evenly and you just took all the stress out if that. I appreciate your teaching style. Thanks! So cute and fun!!
You popped up this morning when I turned on my phone and what a great surprise! I love this quilt and You are a good and fun teacher. You move along at a great pace, fast forward when needed; express your thoughts well and explain (and justify) your motives when necessary; with the perfect amount of humility and vulnerability to make us all feel able to accomplish the desired quilt that is individual to us all! Bravo; I have subscribed❣️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I would like to see how this pattern can be applied to multiple colored variation. To create a rainbow-type look. Thank you, Shelley
Wow-I am so humbled! What sweet words! Thank you so much for taking the time to pay such a compliment to an internet stranger-it really made my week!! ❤️
I just discovered your channel, and it is great! Your enthusiasm and creativity are infectious! I appreciate how you explain elements clearly with visuals but also skim over points that are repetitious or which are explained on your other videos. I really identified with your charming comment that you often wonder if your new ideas are going to work out well or be a "hot mess"! I am looking forward to making my own gradient quilt! Thank you!
Thank you so much!! I'm trying hard to make the videos as concise as possible while still being "enough" if that makes sense! I'm so glad you like them!
I love the idea of this quilt. I love that it's scrappy as well as gradient and that you give a method for achieving a well-balanced randomness. I am thinking you could totally use the same idea with two colors such that you'd start with one, blend into the next, and then blend back into the first color. Or you could turn it on its side and made a skinny version for a table runner--perhaps with more transitions. So fun and flexible. Thanks for all the great ideas.
I love this quilt! It’s modern and scrappy with no stressing about placement. You are really are a good teacher and you keep your coaching simple and calm. My stash pile always has larger stash of my favorite colors, so this is a perfect and cute pattern that lets me play with my happy colors. Thank u for your tutorial and giving larger sizes and I can’t wait for more! 😀
My 1st-time here. Beautiful gradient. Excellent quilt video tutorial (content with Tips and overall presentation including volume). Excellent PDF pattern sign-up and download process. (fyi, I make my QSTs using the quicker 'sew first, cut last method). Next I'm off to your Magic Design Wall video. Thumbs up + I subscribed - thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for subscribing! I tried the sew first, then cut method and had some trouble getting that center seam to line up. I suppose it would have been a lot easier if I hadn't pressed those initial seams open! :)
A very simple to understand pattern that is broken down into manageable parts. It looks like a difficult pattern at first glance. Organized and well written pattern and video. I like hour magic finger snaps that complete early steps. We could all use it for the repetitive parts. I like to listen to free audio books on my phone. I appreciate the tips on trimming or not trimming blocks and the variations on fabric selection and sizes. It creates inspiration and ideas for us. Good pattern for leftover, orphan 10 inch squares that are in similar color groups. Mmmmm.
I love how this came out. I want to try it with layer cake squares. Unsure of the colors so far (or who to gift it to once complete) it will be a project to tackle in the new year. Thank you for sharing this and providing a free pattern for it.
I've recently stumbled upon your channel and have also subscribed. Love, love, love your work. This is a fantastic quilt. I do agree with you, more variety would make this beautiful quilt even better.
Thank you for the wonderful instruction and inspiration! Finally a quilt worthy of my many bins of yardage sorted by color! One thing to bring to your attention: At minute 14:30, the screen says 8-inch squares will yield a 54-inch long quilt and indeed the math supports that, but you and the free pdf say that same quilt will be 64 inches long.
Thank you so much for the free pattern. It is precious. I will be making in two color of purple and and a pink. Have a great week . I really enjoy you video!!🤗🧵🎈
Your personality is so sweet and bubbly! Love this tut. Great quilt design. Really appreciate all the math that you have shown and the tips for changing it if we want... Thanks!
Thank you so very much for the free download. This quilt is simply gorgeous. I really love it and it was fun to watch you create it. I am going to look for just the right fabrics and make it, too. I will also be combing through your other videos. See you soon.
Thank you thank you! I just finished a quilt of valor and had to square up a gazillion squares and I put my ruler on the Sown line but did not know to use the half “ half of 6 1/2 ... 3 and a quarter measurement . Thank you again, you are now my favorite youtube channel,
Loved this quilt! Your tutorials are always delivered with such fun, and professionalism. I look forward to every one of them, and I’ve learned so much (elderly beginner quilter here).
Aww! Thank you! That is really kind and encouraging of you to say :) and hey-everyone is a beginner at some point. I’m feeling pretty out of my league trying to learn violin with my kid at my age! 😂
This is a such great pattern!! I made it in navy, teal, and coral. I love it! It was so fun to make! I would love to send you a picture. Thanks for the free pattern!
This is my favourite quilt of yours so far. I'm going to have to mark your pattern as my last quilt for 2020 (currently doing a Tula Pink for me) then two for family for Christmas. Thank you!
Love this! What a versatile, meditative make! I'll be giving it a go and trying a larger version with more prints like you mentioned. Thanks for sharing it.
