Hi. I used to run AKs with scopes, without mags, focusing on headshot kills. It surprisingly worked out well, as it forced me to take my time and go for that kill shot.

The detail of the SR-25's bullets slipping was fxxking crazy
its also one of the only AR type guns in the game where they animated you engaging the bolt lock when loading one in the chamber
It's nice to see character manually engaging bolt catch with some guns

I remember the first time I triggered this animation. I was looting a dead body and my PMC was super hard up for ammo so I wanted to grab the chambered round inside the weapon before dropping it and retaining the ammo. Then I saw the animation playing out behind my menu and was like O_O they *animated* this???

How do you get your character to catch the round? Mine just watch it fly off
they don't catch it if there is a mag in the gun, not sure why
@@BubblesThePuffthey dont catch it when there's a mag in the gun because usually you dont have the leisure to do so, for example you have some weak ammo in the chamber, and want to get to the Armor piercing ammo in the magazine, but dont want to shoot (but you are about to fight an enemy)
@@jacknoyan8808 the animation for catching the bullet is hardly longer if at all then the rechamber animation, so kind of a moot point. i could take some guesses as to why it's done the way it is but that doesn't make me sure of it. i also was not asking why, just saying i wasn't sure. thanks for explaining it to me your guess bud.
Depends on how you do it. When I trigger these animations, typically it's because I have removed a mag from the weapon while it's in my active slot, and then right clicked the weapon, inspected to verify if a round is in the chamber, and then pulled it out with the GUI. If you just use crtl+r to manually cycle the bolt then you'll just manually cycle the bolt, ejecting a live round to the ground near you.

Looks good, however I'm pretty sure you can't (unless you bend the extractor claw out of the way) chamber load a round into a G17. You load a round from the mag and then top it off to get the +1.
I have chamber loaded G26 and G40 and fired. Though it often causes a failure to extract as the claw doesn't engage correctly.

They shd really keep the magazines in when doing this. The open mag well will cause 5he rnds to drop out.
SVT-40 is the slickest for sure
The animations are pretty good, but some of them could use a bit of work. The animations for a couple of the pistols like the Grach and P226 aren’t great. All of the AR platform animations are really wobbly looking and it makes the gun look weightless. The scar also standouts out because the character racks the charging handle and then has like a full second to switch hands and catch the round. That round would already be 10ft away irl. Something that would improve the animations across the board would be speeding up the bolt as it slams forward and for the gun to be affected by the inertia off the bolting jolting to a stop.
The SCAR one is already covered ejection port with right hand, so the shell just fall into his hand.
I think the biggest issue is some like saiga-9/pp-19, he didn't push the bullet into the chamber but throw into ejection port, there is no mag so it will fall out immediately. and IDK how he lock M4 bolt to the rear with right hand and a bullet just magically appears (same animation on HK416)
6 pound guns (AR platforms) are not heavy unless you're a wimp lol. he also cups his hand over the ejection port so he catches the round as it ejects. also the intertia of the jolt of a bolt is almost nothing, it's not enough to make you slam foward like in call of duty because of the weight of the gun and how it's being held. All these aspects counteract the bolt from being unrealisticlly punchy. also the bolts are at most a little slower than their actual conterpart, try shooting a rifle for yourself. grach and p226 animations are simply outdated, animations from almost 8 years ago.
You can tell what guns are older (as in implemented earlier) by the animation quality (imo). The grach and P226 were the early PMC pistols before the M9 for example.
Most of the AR styled weapons are just using the M4s animation, which i would assume has been in the game for 4-5+ years at this point. I hope they rework them eventually, the SR25 animation looks much better for example.
Also on the Kriss Vector, you could just hit the bolt release instead of racking the charging handle.

@@TransistorBased there is no power or internet on the tarkov region in the game and you pmc is supposed to be a brand new recruit as based on your lack of experience in weapon handling and recoil control until you level up. Seems weird to know how to load it so easily but it is le vidya game I suppose

I love the game's animations, but the M4A1 is incorrect. There was also an animation error in the AS-Val, SKS, VPO, .... Magical Bolt stop function 🤣
So the sks has a bolt hold open. The others are just using the stock so the gun doesnt fall out of the characters hands. Also what do you mean by "the M4A1 is incorrect"? Any specifics?
@@picklechin2716 M4A1: you can see it very well on the STM-9 Gen.2 9x19 carbine. The bolt catch is pressed with the left hand. With the M4 it has to be done too otherwise the bolt won't stay in the back. Only with the 416A5 and MCX would it be ok, because the bolt catch can also be pressed with the trigger finger on the right side. Models like the SKS do not have an external magazine so the bolt is also open but with the SKS something else is wrong. Take a slower look at the animation and tell me how many ammo you find and how they fly out.
It's easier to recognize if you've used such a model before.
If i would make a game i would make so if you only have 1 round left the player character would just load in the chamber, like a single shooter

Not really, the animators use actual guns and videos of it being done irl as reference, but of course it can't capture all the necessary details in game.

@@Glenn_Quagmire That's why he said "use", BSG has stated they borrow land and firearms that the Russian government permits them to use temporarily in order to get the sounds and understand the function for animations.
Hence how they we're able to get the Scar correct, but sadly they don't get to keep the guns.

When you dont use mag or found a gun without mag but you have the correct ammo for the gun, so you manually load it and shot 1 at a time

Ejecting the round and catching is with the same hand is so ridiculously impractical not to mention incredibly fucking difficult. It doesn't look cool... it looks stupid and comical. Not surprising when 99.999% of tarkov players have never and will never operate a live firearm.

This feature is mostly used in desperate situations when you have found a gun but with no mags and you have the proper cartridges for that gun.

It would be next to impossible to do this in real life holding the gun up like that, but doing it for the video makes it easier to see the animations.

It's one of the most common pistols in the world, there are a lot of crazier guns that make no sense how they ended up in tarkov.
everything sounds like cheap airsoft toys. incredibly too soft.
Have you messed with real firearms? All of the weapon sounds were recorded from the real guns themselves on the range. These are what these guns sound like, minus sound differences due to environment.
Seeing as I'm an operation Iraqi freedom veteran, I should hope so. I also own about 20 of the firearms featured here, I'm an avid collector of Soviet weaponry, and currently do armed contractor work in the USA. These sound fake. Soft. Like toys. When u release the slide on a Makarov, it snaps shut hard. When u charge an AK it's loud, rough and rattly, and the Glocks don't sound squeaky or crunchy enough.
@@Cichlid_Visuals any sound differences are likely due to the process in which they isolate the sounds of the firearms themselves. As stated before, BSG records all the firearms sounds on range and shoot frequently. Most the weapons they add to the game are just firearms they like personally.
I believe you, I just feel like it's too perfect And easy sounding. These guns all sound drenched with oil lol or like they are being muffled by pillows. Some of them sound downright plastic. I just went through and played with several of the examples here IRL, it's MUCH louder and rougher sounding, and I keep my weapons clean and oiled well.

@@Cobbsterner basically you break the cycle lever, you see that bullets have a gap right? All firearms have a cycle mechanism, but they where made for the magazine, not manual loading, if you keep doing it the cycle mechanism will eventually break
