I skimmed through so not sure if it was mentioned (knowing Jesse, I'm sure it was somewhere) BUT, get used to using CTRL + L Click (anything you don't wear or hold) and ALT + L Click (anything you wear or hold) for looting, it speeds up your time being vulnerable while looting by a million. Playing with one of my friends recently who only has like 30 hours and his biggest detriment by FAR was looting speed after a kill. I'd be waiting 45 seconds+ just for him to take a gun and a few items. Use hotkeys and keybinds, there's a ton of them in this game but most of them are absolutely worth knowing and using. Also, set discard to a better keybind like an extra mouse button, being able to drop something in a fraction of a second compared to right clicking and pressing discard or looking for delete on your keyboard is a life saver, trust me.
@@justofficial8093 If you do like this, you lose the shortcut (shift + left click) to teleport the items to the sorting table in the Stash. Because of this, I assigned Caps key + left click to discard.

2000hr player here, happily watching this entire video lol. I learned something too. Took a minute, but I realized I can actually totally utilize the Flea Wishlist better. Wishlist my meta stims and ammos, cuz I gotta rebuy those pretty often. Probably other things too. Hell yeah.
One of my favorite things to do with the Flea Wishlist is to actually have a bunch of the very pricey items in there, and I save them up in my stash. Then, I sell when they are high, checking after each Raid I do. For instance… Motors, usually sell for around 80-90k, but, they routinely go up to 140k…. That’s literally almost double. So I’ll save 10 motors up, wait for them to hit 140k. Then, if I need to buy them, I’ll wait until they are low. Wishlist is really nice. Did the same thing with 7.62x39 PS, shit hit 1,200 ea and I sold over 1,000 of them LOL.
A few years ago this original video brought me into Tarkov. I don't play all the wipes, but whenI do these videos help me get back up to speed. Thanks!
I just started playing and the only thing I can add for other new players is to just get in and play live raids. PMC, scav, whatever. You're gonna die. It is what it is. Getting in and trying to get out is the best way to learn imo. I've been spending my first wipe entirely devoted to just learning and not worrying super hard about quests, gear, money, survives, etc. If I die, I die. Go next.
I have a few hundred hours in Tarkov but it's been a couple years since I played. This video was a great reminder on some things and an awesome way to learn about new features.

Simplified version Download the Tarkov maps. Play one map until you know the extractions. Loot until your full then extract. More extractions mean more xp After a while you can comfortably take better gear After more time you can engage in combat Knowing the map and how to extract is the critical thing. Everything else you will learn as you go

Just downloaded Saturday, watched a few lvl 1 videos, already kinda learning, I've ran like 10 practice raids on ground zero and I still know nothing lol I'm so pumped to keep learning
I enjoyed the video and think the information is useful. This comment is intended to be constructive only for possible future videos. The video formatting feels like it is intended for people who took a break and came back or this is their 2nd wipe. While all the information is useful, I don't know how much of it a brand new player would understand vs a player who already has baseline experience and is looking to understand the mechanics of the game more in depth. In a video intended for brand new players, I would have loved to see the the game broken down into 'chapters' with each chapter breaking down the next step. Ex: -how to get into a raid (what goes on your pmc) -what do you do in raid (different ai, how to loot/extract, what the different symbols on your screen mean, how healing works) -you survived/died, whats next (loosing gear, healing with therapist, selling items you found) After going through the base gameplay loop, other topics can be addressed either in a follow up video (new player series) or in later sections (if the goal is to have one source for everything you need). Ex: -you can get in and out of raid, whats next (questing) -you hit level 15 (flee market) -what can you do outside of PMC raids (scav raids, hideout) Side note: I recommend avoiding terms like 'obviously' in beginners guides. Something that is obvious to experienced players isn't always obvious to new players
Haven't finished the video, and there's probably hundreds of comments mentioning it. But an upside after a raid and considering either to heal yourself or having Therapist heal you, is that if you choose to heal yourself you instead are improving and upgrading your medical stats alongside any equipment use stats. Of course you can always choose to have Therapist heal you instead to save on item usage if you would rather prefer to pay for it, a good strategy is to keep any grizzlies you find and use them to heal you after any and all raids. It varies on each person obviously, but grizzlies are often best left out of any raids that are not EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, so if you do not have a set goal and/or are expecting to be in a long dangerous raid, than a grizzly is best left out and instead using it from your stache afterwards to heal, as they provide alot from their high stats AND can improve your healing stats due to how long they last It is all up to personal preference, I'm not saying he was wrong btw!!!! Jesse is super useful and a sage

There's one thing I should add to med items info - the maximum heal per use. For smaller kits it's 50hp per use. If your thorax is at 15hp, and you heal with an AI-2 or A/IFAK you only her it up to 65 hp. This is why most people prefer using the saleva kits as they restore more health for the same time. Grizzlies are bulkier, but they can easily cover all your medical needs except for field surgeries. Their use animation is very long (6s), but can be canselled at about 3sec which is usually enough to heal the body part to max hp anyway. Got forbid you using in to heal fracture in your leg mid-combat though.
@@HbkRick left mouse button cancels animations. Not all can be cancelled. You can also choose which part to heal if you spin the mouse wheel while keeping the shortcut key for the healing item. Very useful when your have multiple bleeds to prevent thorax or head from blacking out.
Great videos Jesse. There's a lot of guide videos out there but I can't really find a thorough one on clearing an area for that last rat lurking around when you have taken out his teammates. Would be great to see a guide dealing with this problem. Keep up the good work.

Yo @jessekazam great video BUT you stated you can double click things in or out of raid to inspect but the default double click was changed to use any usable item instead of inspect a couple wipes ago. Just a FYI

I have 1000 hours in EFT and loved the vid. Definitely going to be sending any friends that get into the game to your video, very informative and you didn't get super detailed into anything that would really overwhelm a new player (outside of the overall info dump that they need to know)

as someone who just started to play bc her boyfriend said it's the game that will get me better at shooters (i'm already seeing improvements), it is brutal and a steep learning curve plus losing everything each raid bc of death. i am determined to get better tho! i appreciate this guide :)

I see a lot of hate for ground zero but I honestly think it’s great. I started the last wipe and only got to level 15 with a total of 2 pmc kills. I just kept getting chadded on every raid. Now I’ve been playing again for two days and have several pmc kills almost every ground zero raid. I took out my first two man today in a firefight, and even though I ended up succumbing to my injuries later on it still felt damn good. Ground zero is great for learning the map, player spawns and how quests work. Thumbs up from me

Pretty new to tarkov, under 50 hrs playtime and I love these vids. The part I'm struggling with the most at the moment is being able to discern who's a scav or pmc. My karma is taking a hit lol

52:28, Lol, no kidding. My first AR-15 I built IRL was pretty overwhelming, because what's in this game is just scratching the surface of what's in the real world market. In fact, I don't think I can even build my real life rifle in this game... yet. I do love just how in-depth this game gets, though, and love that they are using real world manufacturers.
Does this game simulate bullet travel like Arma 3 does? If so, velocity is super important for hitting laterally fast moving targets at distance. I notice there are many real-world rounds in the game. Does the game take into consideration certain types of ammo perform differently at different ranges out of the same gun depending on velocity? For example, if you have a soft tip round blasting out at high velocity, a round like that "explodes" at close range, as expansion happens too fast, causing less penetration and energy dump, but at long range, once the round has slowed a bunch, that softer ammo will get its optimal performance as the velocity drops off. On the flip side, a harder bullet will do well at close range at high velocity, as it will retain mass better during expansion, but at longer ranges as velocity drops off, it lacks the velocity to properly expand, and you might just get pass-through, which is typically not ideal due to less energy dump. There's also the velocity issue when running a suppressor, that no matter how good your suppressor is, if that bullet leaves the muzzle at supersonic speed, the gunshot is still gonna be loud from the sonic boom coming off of it (sounds like a loud cracking), so if running suppressed, ideally you are gonna use subsonic ammo. Does the game take any of this into account? I noticed the suppressors do in fact slightly increase muzzle velocity in this game, which is awesome, because so many games do the opposite, while real ones IRL do slightly increase velocity, as it's sort of like extending the barrel (bullet remains in a state of acceleration traveling through suppressor). I know a lot of gun guys sing praise for this game, and as a gun guy myself, I'm so far impressed, and very curious just how far they take their realism.
With over 8k hrs in this game sadly I do not have the ability to verify your question with a yes or no There is bullet drop There is scope adjustments that you can do during raid, or in Combat There are ammunitions that are quieter than others There is over penetration in this game There have been instances where targets at range seem to be a bullet sponge for certain ammunition But I’ve never thought about this and sadly, I cannot answer your question because I have none no research or ever wondered about it I’m so happy to have read your comment. It opens my mind and brightens my horizons.

Since it wasn’t mention about traders, when selling stuff check if therapist will buy something as she will pay the most, then mechanic, then ragman, when it comes to selling guns they need to be at least 60 durability to be sold usually I repair my stuff from skier so raise my money spent with him then sell it. In general medical and hideout stuff like wires, GPUs, and foodstuff can be sold to therapist for most, mechanic pays best for ammo, attachments, mags, and ammo, peacekeeper usually buys intel (for dollars), ragman is clothing and amor for best, and prapor grenades. Skier will buy a bunch of different things for usually a bit less than other traders and fence will buy anything but pays the least. There’s lots of poor durability and stuff tends to be overpriced so I almost never buy or sells stuff from/to fence. Also the flea market tends to pay more for stuff but some stuff may not be super desirable or take a long to sell so it may not be worth posting on the flea rather than sell to a trader and keep on chugging. Euros and dollars can also be bought from the skier or peacekeeper at a premium and certain things needed for a quest like gunsmithing are also sometimes sold in the flea for euros or dollars in the panther wants or needs them. (Dollars are needed for certain hideout upgrades and stuff from peacekeeper and euros I think are only needed for certain hideout upgrades). Edit: also if I’m gonna repair and wear armor into raid rather than sell I tend to use mechanic over skier since he’s repairs a bit better. If I’m just selling use skier since I find he’s got less stuff except for some attachments or the dovetail mount for the cheap NVGs which he also sells. Also pay attention for barters as with gunsmithing people tend to sell attachments for the quests for inflated prices and sometimes people miss the fact there’s a batter you can just buy the stuff for the flea for way cheaper and trade for the attachment you need.

I would also recommend changing discard from delete to lshift+left click. Much faster when looting
Alt f4 auto searches and immediately reveals items so you don't have to wait the 2-3 seconds an item.

If it’s just game maps and guns using offline play is. Ice some times

There's one thing I should add to med items info - the maximum heal per use. For smaller kits it's 50hp per use. If your thorax is at 15hp, and you heal with an AI-2 or A/IFAK you only her it up to 65 hp. This is why most people prefer using the saleva kits as they restore more health for the same time.
Grizzlies are bulkier, but they can easily cover all your medical needs except for field surgeries. Their use animation is very long (6s), but can be canselled at about 3sec which is usually enough to heal the body part to max hp anyway. Got forbid you using in to heal fracture in your leg mid-combat though.
Might be a noob question but I barely started playing this wipe. How do you animation cancel?
@@HbkRick left mouse button cancels animations. Not all can be cancelled.
You can also choose which part to heal if you spin the mouse wheel while keeping the shortcut key for the healing item. Very useful when your have multiple bleeds to prevent thorax or head from blacking out.
Great videos Jesse. There's a lot of guide videos out there but I can't really find a thorough one on clearing an area for that last rat lurking around when you have taken out his teammates. Would be great to see a guide dealing with this problem.

Yo @jessekazam great video BUT you stated you can double click things in or out of raid to inspect but the default double click was changed to use any usable item instead of inspect a couple wipes ago. Just a FYI

This is my 4th wipe, but i still watch the beginner videos. Never stop learning!
I see a lot of hate for ground zero but I honestly think it’s great. I started the last wipe and only got to level 15 with a total of 2 pmc kills. I just kept getting chadded on every raid. Now I’ve been playing again for two days and have several pmc kills almost every ground zero raid. I took out my first two man today in a firefight, and even though I ended up succumbing to my injuries later on it still felt damn good. Ground zero is great for learning the map, player spawns and how quests work. Thumbs up from me

Pretty new to tarkov, under 50 hrs playtime and I love these vids. The part I'm struggling with the most at the moment is being able to discern who's a scav or pmc. My karma is taking a hit lol

My first AR-15 I built IRL was pretty overwhelming, because what's in this game is just scratching the surface of what's in the real world market.
In fact, I don't think I can even build my real life rifle in this game... yet.
I do love just how in-depth this game gets, though, and love that they are using real world manufacturers.

Does this game simulate bullet travel like Arma 3 does?
If so, velocity is super important for hitting laterally fast moving targets at distance.
I notice there are many real-world rounds in the game. Does the game take into consideration certain types of ammo perform differently at different ranges out of the same gun depending on velocity?
For example, if you have a soft tip round blasting out at high velocity, a round like that "explodes" at close range, as expansion happens too fast, causing less penetration and energy dump, but at long range, once the round has slowed a bunch, that softer ammo will get its optimal performance as the velocity drops off. On the flip side, a harder bullet will do well at close range at high velocity, as it will retain mass better during expansion, but at longer ranges as velocity drops off, it lacks the velocity to properly expand, and you might just get pass-through, which is typically not ideal due to less energy dump.
There's also the velocity issue when running a suppressor, that no matter how good your suppressor is, if that bullet leaves the muzzle at supersonic speed, the gunshot is still gonna be loud from the sonic boom coming off of it (sounds like a loud cracking), so if running suppressed, ideally you are gonna use subsonic ammo.
Does the game take any of this into account?
I noticed the suppressors do in fact slightly increase muzzle velocity in this game, which is awesome, because so many games do the opposite, while real ones IRL do slightly increase velocity, as it's sort of like extending the barrel (bullet remains in a state of acceleration traveling through suppressor).
I know a lot of gun guys sing praise for this game, and as a gun guy myself, I'm so far impressed, and very curious just how far they take their realism.
With over 8k hrs in this game sadly I do not have the ability to verify your question with a yes or no
There is bullet drop
There is scope adjustments that you can do during raid, or in Combat
There are ammunitions that are quieter than others
There is over penetration in this game
There have been instances where targets at range seem to be a bullet sponge for certain ammunition
But I’ve never thought about this and sadly, I cannot answer your question because I have none no research or ever wondered about it

Since it wasn’t mention about traders, when selling stuff check if therapist will buy something as she will pay the most, then mechanic, then ragman, when it comes to selling guns they need to be at least 60 durability to be sold usually I repair my stuff from skier so raise my money spent with him then sell it. In general medical and hideout stuff like wires, GPUs, and foodstuff can be sold to therapist for most, mechanic pays best for ammo, attachments, mags, and ammo, peacekeeper usually buys intel (for dollars), ragman is clothing and amor for best, and prapor grenades. Skier will buy a bunch of different things for usually a bit less than other traders and fence will buy anything but pays the least. There’s lots of poor durability and stuff tends to be overpriced so I almost never buy or sells stuff from/to fence. Also the flea market tends to pay more for stuff but some stuff may not be super desirable or take a long to sell so it may not be worth posting on the flea rather than sell to a trader and keep on chugging. Euros and dollars can also be bought from the skier or peacekeeper at a premium and certain things needed for a quest like gunsmithing are also sometimes sold in the flea for euros or dollars in the panther wants or needs them. (Dollars are needed for certain hideout upgrades and stuff from peacekeeper and euros I think are only needed for certain hideout upgrades).
Edit: also if I’m gonna repair and wear armor into raid rather than sell I tend to use mechanic over skier since he’s repairs a bit better. If I’m just selling use skier since I find he’s got less stuff except for some attachments or the dovetail mount for the cheap NVGs which he also sells. Also pay attention for barters as with gunsmithing people tend to sell attachments for the quests for inflated prices and sometimes people miss the fact there’s a batter you can just buy the stuff for the flea for way cheaper and trade for the attachment you need.
