Good for him. Having a show peter out over time is always hard to watch, and I felt like the writers were kinda struggling by season 12. He probably did his co-stars a favor.
they could have done one last season where Sheldon is not actually in the show but hinted CONSTANTLY. each episode would follow a different person. one episode could be where Lenard and Penny move into a house just like Sheldon and Amy got their own house. Penny video calls Amy and Bernadette in that episode too check in. then we get an episode where Bernadette and Howard finally find Stewart a gf and apartment and have to deal with his absence. then show an episode where rajesh's father passes away and he inherits his fathers company and money and he's crossed between leaving America to run the business in India or giving the business up to his mother or sister. then have an episode about Amy getting pregnant with Sheldon and always have Sheldon in the other room talking from a distance "helping her with chores" and have it look like he's always just walking out of the room so we "think" we see him, and then at the end have him appear for like the last scene being a wholesome husband to Amy showing his character development. if you did it in an order like this, Sheldon would only have to appear once every 5 or 6 episodes, besides the occasional voiceover and it wouldn't take away from the weight of the show but instead illustrate that this is the last season for how much they are truly growing into their own people while still inviting their friendship into their lives without it being the mainframe of their life.

Jim Parsons really pulled a Sheldon on them all. He started at the lowest & by the end had the power to end the show himself & executive produce the prequel sidelining every other character. Played everyone for a fiddle. Man took an unlikeable Nerdy character & has created a legacy his family will live off for the next 50 years.
Im pretty sure Jim Parsons said somewhere that his age was starting to show, where he felt it was much more difficult to act like a 20something year old in his late 30s.
Honestly Jhonny Galecki took one of the best decisions ever by saying he was going to play Leonard. Sheldon was iconic because of Jim Parsons Galecki could barely play Leonard
He knew he couldn’t expand on the character any further and knew it would be all downhill from there. Perfect example of not selling out just to maximise profit and shows that he actually cares about what the fans think and how Sheldon is portrayed
but he's the executive producer AND the voice actor in the show.... he's doing pretty great for himself.... minimum work at the age of 50 while living a comfortable life???? you'd have to be crazy to not want that lol

Honestly, having Leonard be portrayed by a better actor was a good god call. You can forgive an actor for being stiff, if it’s in the character. However Leonard is emotional and he shows that through a lot of body language.
Thats so Sheldon of him😂😂😂
I was told that Galecki was the one that didn’t want to continue it
If i were him i would have done one more season just to hit 300 episodes. but thats just me
Yeah, I hate it when a show ends on 84 episodes when they could've gone up to 100
I didn't consider that. I kinda agree.
If watch the show if it didn't have that cringe laugh track every 10 seconds.
@@8BitGamer4life 🤣
Quality/integrity matters more than milestone numbers though
Because chuck lorre learns from his mistakes
I understood that reference.
Sheldon is really bossy in both real and real life ❤
The Big Bang Theory wouldn't have been the same without Sheldon. I honestly wanted to eventually see Sheldon have a kid like he/Jim Parsons narrates in Young Sheldon.
Makes sense. The show was steadily going downhill. Sheldon was the best part of the show and I get not wanting to continue doing it
And even then Sheldon was getting more and more irritating
I just wished raj had found his one and only.
Maybe he did after the show ended
buffy the vampire slayer :3
It was Howard all the time
Galecki wanted his serving of Kaley 😂 can’t blame him tho 🤷♂️
I would have loved to see Sheldon interact with Leonard and Penny’s baby and his transition into fatherhood himself!
Dang, what show wasn't created by Chuck Lorre
Friends
I loved big bang. They need a reunion show.
In a decade or more. It's only been of the air a few years.
Raj can have a partner then
Interesting how two and a half men and tbbt are linked in this way. Two of my favourite shows.
Sheldon became the main character in just the second episode for me. I became a fan. There's no way the show would work without sheldon lol.
The interesting thing is that the character was completely different during the test pilot
And the show would not have caught on the way did if the character had remained the same
Good for him. Having a show peter out over time is always hard to watch, and I felt like the writers were kinda struggling by season 12. He probably did his co-stars a favor.
Imagine their roles were inverted💀
Jim Parsons made the right choice both for his career as an actor and for the good of the show itself.
It sounds more like he wanted out and the director/producer didn't want to keep it going without him
they could have done one last season where Sheldon is not actually in the show but hinted CONSTANTLY. each episode would follow a different person. one episode could be where Lenard and Penny move into a house just like Sheldon and Amy got their own house.
This is just Brilliant!!😂
thats just the thing though i dont think it would have gone well, not a lot of sheldon = show ,most likely flopping, although id love to see what you wrote i just dont think itd go well,, besides jims dad had died around 56 or something like that during the last season and hes in his late 40s by the time it ended i think and it made him realize he wants to do more things in life then be stuck to one character bcs if his life goes the same as his dads then theres not much time left and we never know how life goes, time is short we dont have forever and the role of sheldon played a role in his mental health
John Galecky saw the Kaley Cuoco parts in the script and switched characters 🤣👌
I can’t imagine Johnny being Sheldon💀
Season 12 felt like they were rushing to close all the character arks, another 2 seasons would have paced it much better
So Sheldon was stubborn until the end
I didn't even know he was a "backwards mechanic-likes-to-play-in-the-dirt" guy until I watched Big Bang Theory last year.
I’m imagining an alternate universe where Johnny Galecki was Sheldon and Jim Parsons was Leonard now.
Honestly, they made the right call. It was starting to drag on and it ended perfectly....
One of the best endings for a series ever
That’s my distant cousin.🤣
The guy who played Lenard was just tryna keep penny in his life
Jim Parsons wanted to move on at Season 10 he thought he had done all he could with the character of Sheldon
How that show managed to last 279 episodes was the biggest theory.
I still can’t figure that one out
He pulled a Jerry Seinfeld.
Damm u sheldon
Jim Parsons really pulled a Sheldon on them all. He started at the lowest & by the end had the power to end the show himself & executive produce the prequel sidelining every other character.
Played everyone for a fiddle. Man took an unlikeable Nerdy character & has created a legacy his family will live off for the next 50 years.
Im pretty sure Jim Parsons said somewhere that his age was starting to show, where he felt it was much more difficult to act like a 20something year old in his late 30s.
had to have it his way 😂 how fitting 🤣 damnit Sheldon 😂
와 발음기호에 한글글자크기 다른이유가 강세 차이때문인거군요 …! 진짜 댑악 너무 도움돼요 😮❤
Honestly Jhonny Galecki took one of the best decisions ever by saying he was going to play Leonard.
Sheldon was iconic because of Jim Parsons Galecki could barely play Leonard
He was the star of this show....🤗🤗!!
Kudos to you, Jim Parsons!!!
MVP!!🥳😇🥳😇🥳
wouldnt be the same without jim
He knew he couldn’t expand on the character any further and knew it would be all downhill from there. Perfect example of not selling out just to maximise profit and shows that he actually cares about what the fans think and how Sheldon is portrayed
Ends the most lucrative is his entire life... Only to receive zero offers after.
Brilliant!
And he walked away without having any financial worries except how to invest his money wisely.
but he's the executive producer AND the voice actor in the show.... he's doing pretty great for himself.... minimum work at the age of 50 while living a comfortable life???? you'd have to be crazy to not want that lol
At first I was upset. Now I'm happy thanks Jim.
Damn a million dollars an episode, at 269 episodes....he really is a genius
Young Sheldon overshadows TBBT so much god damn
When his dad passed away it made him really think of the important things in his life. He ultimately decided there was so much more fore him to experience outside of acting and TBBT
The actor who played kripke(John Ross Bowie) was also considered for Sheldon before Parsons.
I early hope they do some spinoff with where certain characters are now and what not
This is one of the best sitcoms ever tbh, and it's fine if he wanted to end it, he'll always be my favourite character
