I've been watching your videos for around 7 years now, i love your work, and books, well, hundreds of videos later, i can say that i'll never get tired of listening that greeting of yours, it's a warm and soothing feeling, like drinking hot chocolate
Hey Mark! I was working on one of my (failed) Original characters, and was looking through my Manga drawing book, when I noticed a name that looked VERY familiar..! I had seen the name somewhere before and decided to check the back of the book for the "Authors Notes" and it said near the bottom, "I wouldn't be able to have written this book if it wasn't for my RUclips subscribers..!" That's when it clicked!! This book, it is YOUR book! Your "Mastering Manga" Book! My BFF bought this book for me for my birthday, and I have been using it for many different pictures and it has helped a load! I just wanted to thank you for writing that book because it has helped me, VERY much!! I hope you have a great day, and continue your amazing work to help me learn how to draw better! Thanks..!
I don't always watch your videos like I used to because I feel as if I have passed the anime/manga style art and have moved onto painting but I love coming back every now and then. There is nothing like hearing the same cheery greeting at the start and the calm voice that gives great drawing tips. I have bought a few books (or borrowed from a library if I cant find a copy) and have been watching for years so it's always nice to see a video :) x
dear mark, I just want to say thank you for your kindness. I really appreciate your taking the time to make these incredible videos and sharing the knowledge you have acquired over the years. I have learned so much from you and i look forward to your future tutorials. Again thank you Mark.
I think i could draw face from below, but thanks to your video and "indication" lines i think now it become much more easier, thank you from the bottom of heart!
Thanks Mark. I've been drawing on and off for years... drawing everyday and challenging yourself is the key to success. thanks again for your videos...
I enjoyed this video. I just received 2 books of yours. Realism and Manga 3 and I will be going through one at least tonight. Thanks for your great contribution to the art world. Its also great that I can receive art orders in the Caribbean. The only thing is its costly but worth every cent.
I try my best with all my strenght, and I keep saying done give up and since I saw this video and drew that drawing almost as good as mark, I have now know to keep trying. Thank You Markcrilley
Thank you SO much for posting this! I'm a 3D animation student with minimal drawing skills and an assignment to do 100 drawings by the end of the semester and your clear and step-by-step videos are helping me go from being an incredibly terrible draftsman to being only a moderately terrible draftsman. :3
Thanks again Crilley. I wish I could show you just how much you've helped me with my art over the years. And hey just Got Brody's Ghost I can't wait to get into it!
crilley, ive waited years for this video, do you know how much suffering i went through to do this worms eye view??? now, i can finally be an art master with this video.
No idea if you'll have time to see this, but I'm happy to announce that I FINALLY found a decent job that's gonna start soon, and my first paycheck is going to amazon to order the rest of Brody's Ghost and the Mastering Manga books :) Love your content, been following you for years and suggesting you to anyone I know who's just starting.
I just bought your first Drawing Manga book and I can't wait for it to be delivered. This was an amazing demonstration. I am brand new to drawing and I hope I can learn to do it well. I have subscribed to your channel and will be looking to you for tons of guidance. Thank you for doing these for us!
hey, i just wanted to thank you. i want to become a mangaka, and, since i can't go to an actual academy yet, i'm right now working on "training drawings" to get better so... Thank You for being the best teacher i could ever find!
o yay!! u drew so well n just by watching this narrated version, i was able to draw the exact same drawing as you drew. i like all yours how to draw videos. thanks...
Just a small note: I like the fact that you say how much time it takes you. I makes me realise that drawings needs time. That is something I have struggled with, since you see so much good art made whit speed up fotage. So just saying that something takes more time than it looks, I appriciate that.
I started drawing anime stuff about 7 days ago with utter garbage but after watching several of your videos mainly facial structure/ features i am able to produce your average DeviantArt type stuff
This is GREAT, Sir!! She's so beautiful! I do have a question though....how do you create a background around the character and make it blend well? My problem is that the hair never looks right against the background I create....especially when doing watercolors. if like to know how to make it look like a cohesive image.
Hi MARK, I love your videos. You're a great talent!!! and a great teacher. Ive improved my drawing 100% from your instructive videos. And you literally make me laugh out loud!!! LOL Thank you!!
In my experience the part right below the eyebrows doesn't get much shadow usually, so leaving a bright line between the shadow of the eye and the eyebrows themselves works really well.
Mark Crilley, I have a confessions to make... When I see eraser crumbs on your paper, and I have the video paused... I blow on the screen thinking the crumbs will go away. I forget that it is not actual paper in front of me. I did this for the first time when introducing my younger cousin ( who is starting to take drawing more seriously) to one of your videos ( and the channel as a whole), and I paused it to explain something to her, and she didn't know why I started laughing so hard. She didn't see me try to blow the crumbs off the screen, and immediately face-palm afterwards. It was painfully and stupidly hilarious! #ArtistHabits
Hey mark I've been watching you since I was 12 yrs old. You inspired me soooo flipping much as an artist. Although I'm still learning would you show us how to draw every hair type. (Thickness A-C and curl/straightness 1-4) there's a bunch of video on RUclips to show you the difference
Hey Mark I really enjoy your water colour videos. I was wondering if you could do one of your real time video challenges again and while you do it maybe go through your colour selection?
Nice I've been wondering when you would do this. May you pls make a 'how to draw space eye view' video. I also just started reading your akiko series and I'm hooked. 😃
When he started drawing the hair.. I couldn't see the drawing as anybody but Nancy Drew (like the mystery book series character) But really, this is a very helpful video. 💕
I'm going to draw her in a larger square, facing in the other direction, with a little girl's eyes, thinner lips, red hair in a ponytail, and with lots of freckles. This will make it more challenging for me and will make me learn manga better.
Unless you've already covered it and I missed the relevant video, could you please do a tutorial on how to draw different hair textures? Straight, wavy, curly, frizzy, kinky, spiky, buzzcut, etc. Personally I struggle with doing anything outside of generic "makeup commercial" wavy hair.
Mark, I'd love if you spoke about this subject. I'm currently having an internal struggle, I'm wondering what to do if you don't feel as if you get adequate praise for your work. I'm confident in my art, but I feel like other people aren't appreciating it.
It's funny, every time I see one of your tutorial videos, I get confused by your use of guidelines, but I've recently seen a video that felt like it could explain it. Would this form of guideline usage be some form of variant on Reilly's abstraction methods perhaps? I'm very used to using proportional relationships and divisions to put down how a face would end up looking in different angles, so the current use of guidelines confuses me
I have a rather cartoony style right now, even though I'm trying to turn it more realistic. I like to color things with more of a structure, so it would help to make it more realistic.
markcrilley, Such a great job on your drawings...you are definitely a great inspiration of mine. Where are the best ways to request some tutorials since I have a couple I'd like to request. The first request is a how-to-draw anime character (any character) but I would like to see you do one in full color with Prismacolors (since I'm having some trouble in properly utilizing the rich color layers of skin, clothing, and hair). The second request is a how-to-draw Noctis from Final Fantasy 15 video game (colored or black&gray).
I hope sometimes you post a videos on how you draw ur drawings RATHER THAN on how to draw a drawings Did you draw sometimes without measurements and patterns? because i do draw my arts especially my comics without any patterns. Because thats what im comfortable with. Am I Wrong?
I've been watching your videos for around 7 years now, i love your work, and books, well, hundreds of videos later, i can say that i'll never get tired of listening that greeting of yours, it's a warm and soothing feeling, like drinking hot chocolate
Thank you Gabriel, I appreciate your many years of support!
markcrilley I'll be back to watch another one,, real soon :D
markcrilley ilove Johannes

"The blushular region"-- I love it ^_^
I think it looks more helicopter...
markcrilley how do your drawings come out so clean and perfect?
Freckles look cuter!
I don't always watch your videos like I used to because I feel as if I have passed the anime/manga style art and have moved onto painting but I love coming back every now and then. I definitely admire you in your skill and versatility. You have both helped and motivated a young artist like me, along with many others.
I try my best with all my strenght, and I keep saying done give up and since I saw this video and drew that drawing almost as good as mark, I have now know to keep trying. Thank You Markcrilley
This character you did is just so beautiful! Love the advice on such a hard perspective to draw.
Thank you!

I found this to be very useful, this is the angle I have the most trouble with, and this trick could really help.
I had to pic music over art for GCSE and quite frankly I picked right. I can't learn music from as good a teacher as this brilliant guy.
You are such an inspiration! I think I've watched every single one of your videos, and I never cease to be amazed! Never Stop!😄
Thank you RoseAnn!
Thanks again Crilley. I wish I could show you just how much you've helped me with my art over the years. And hey just Got Brody's Ghost I can't wait to get into it!
Thank you Kyler!
crilley, ive waited years for this video, do you know how much suffering i went through to do this worms eye view??? now, i can finally be an art master with this video.
well you got me back into my hobby of drawing , huge motivation to start drawing and with these videos i can make my drawings actually look good.

This is the "food wishes" of drawing. I love it. (find it on youtube if want to learn to cook)

Hey Mark I really enjoy your water colour videos. I was wondering if you could do one of your real time video challenges again and while you do it maybe go through your colour selection?
you need to do more perspective stuff, Crilley! It's my favorite! :D
Nice I've been wondering when you would do this. May you pls make a 'how to draw space eye view' video. I also just started reading your akiko series and I'm hooked. 😃
Amazing video. Thank you.
Great video. Beautiful drawing. I'd be interested in seeing how you'd draw a more extreme worm's eye view.
Next time :)
Awesome!
Mark I was on this app called musical.ly and we were talking about art RUclipsrs and everyone said you baylee and jazza first!! As their top 3!!
I been asking for this video for years! Thanka Mark, keep up the great work! #NotificationSquad
no blushies!?! what are these shenanigans!!
When he started drawing the hair.. I couldn't see the drawing as anybody but Nancy Drew (like the mystery book series character) But really, this is a very helpful video. 💕
This is a beautiful piece! !!!! I have always had trouble with this view. if mine ever looks decent it's always a mistake.
I hope I will one day be able to do drawing without always looking at something like a video, like you!
I think Crilley and Jazza are long lost relatives😂
those lines under the nose and the dip is called the philtrum. just so you know
man!!! it was magic, happening during time lapse😎
Very nice, old school crilley. Great video sir. Learned a lot. Thanks again and hopefully we will see more real soon. 😂.
I'm going to draw her in a larger square, facing in the other direction, with a little girl's eyes, thinner lips, red hair in a ponytail, and with lots of freckles. This will make it more challenging for me and will make me learn manga better.

Coming soon :)

THank you so much ... ur my teacher .
Great job!
Have a nice day!
Mark, I'd love if you spoke about this subject. I'm currently having an internal struggle, I'm wondering what to do if you don't feel as if you get adequate praise for your work. I'm confident in my art, but I feel like other people aren't appreciating it.
hey mark can you do another "draw this again" video
Could you do an in depth video on drawing a realistic face. Focusing on shading? Maybe include your photo reference. Like choose one specific person ?
Sounds like a great suggestion! I would like to see that too. :)
What I always wondered, do you read off from a script? because your commentary is on point ^^ I guess its just practice.
Thank you! No there's no script, it's all made up on the fly. :)
man this its super helpful.
Love it. You're awesome! :)
Amazing!!!!!!!
Mark, can we get a Mikasa (attack on titan) drawing any time soon? the trailer for season 2 is already out and the season itself is coming
Aah! So hard! I really like this tutorial though.
If you would like to and if you have time to, would you do a ; How to do a drawing in fisheye perspective (or 5-point perspective)? Cheers
I always have difficulties with this view but somehow I always end up drawing more in this view and end up enjoying it 😂
That godlike shading tho T-T
love it crilly
Man I miss this page
Amazing!!

Really Appreciate your help

mr. crilley sir, can i ask question?
how did you published your comic books? is there a requirements before
your comics published?
This vid explains how I got published: ruclips.net/video/NN1AhE7J0o8/видео.html
Thank your sir, by the way...
i like all your videos and all your work.
its really inspiring for me as a beginner in comic artist-ing.
I hope sometimes you post a videos on
how you draw ur drawings RATHER THAN on how to draw a drawings
Did you draw sometimes without measurements and patterns?
because i do draw my arts especially my comics without any patterns.
Because thats what im comfortable with.
Am I Wrong?
Gary Arsenia i am not crilley but you are not wrong there is no particulair way of making art just do what you like and works for you :)
