@kieranb7582 It’s ironic but true-when the body misidentifies a harmless substance, like a protein in nuts, as a dangerous invader, the immune system's response can be extreme, leading to severe allergic reactions. This overreaction is the body's way of trying to protect itself, but it can indeed be life-threatening. That's why it's so important for those with nut allergies to avoid exposure and carry emergency medication, like an epinephrine auto-injector, to counteract this response if it occurs.
Well, im not sure if i have one or not. I ate cashew, peanuts just fine. But there are 2 times i have difficulties breathing when i ate 2 different food that has i-have-no-idea nut. I ate a cheese cake with nuts in it. But no one knows what kinda nuts in there. I ate other food too that time, but those food i normally ate just fine, which lead me think about the cake. Then 2 days ago, my friend brought turkish delight which has nuts in it. I was curious and ate 2 of it. When i was on my way home, i start to have short breath again. So i think i have allergic in some nuts (not all). Now im thinking to buy one by one of tree nuts and try eat it and see which one that will show the reaction😅

I'm allergic to all kinds of legumes. And to make it worst, I have G6PD which is a genetic disorder that affects people’s G6PD levels. G6PD stands for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. G6PD is an enzyme that protects your red blood cells from harmful substances. Deficiency happens when the gene that drives the G6PD enzyme mutates or changes so the enzyme can’t protect red blood cells. Certain foods and medications can trigger G6PD deficiency.

I’m allergic to walnuts because I ate a brownie with walnuts and it was dangerous when I ate one, I had an allergic reaction to that, and i could’ve died from that, but lucky I did, I have to be careful, because allergic foods can sometimes lead to instant death. I was born to have an allergic to those things.
Warnings and recalls all the time because of nut allergies. Sorry to say but unless you control your food 100%. IF YOU HAVE A LIFE THREATENING ALLERGY, YOU NEVER KNOW ! It does seem that more people are having such allergies. All my life, I never saw so much trouble with such allergies. Makes me wonder why. Am in my late 70's, have 50 years of health service professionally licensed experience. Now it seems nuts are becoming increasingly lethal ! Were people dying of such allergies and we just did not know ? Are nuts changing ? Is there any connection to chemicals ? I am genuinely curious.
@brega6286 It’s true that food allergies, especially to nuts, seem to be more prevalent now than in previous decades, and it raises important questions. One theory is that increased hygiene and reduced exposure to environmental microbes (the "hygiene hypothesis") may contribute to more people developing allergies, as our immune systems aren’t challenged by as many pathogens as they were in the past. Additionally, the way foods are processed and exposed to chemicals could be a factor, though this area is still being researched. Another possibility is that improved diagnostic methods and awareness have led to better identification of allergies, which might have gone unnoticed in previous generations. While there’s no definitive answer yet, it’s a combination of environmental, genetic, and dietary factors that seem to be contributing to the rise.
If peanuts aren't specifically mentioned in the context of a nut allergy, it's still important to exercise caution. Peanut allergies can be separate from tree nut allergies, and sometimes people with tree nut allergies can still be allergic to peanuts. If you're unsure or if this is about managing someone else's allergy, it's best to confirm with a healthcare professional or check with the person affected before consuming peanuts. Always prioritize safety, especially when it comes to allergies.
@lillbreezy Nut allergies can be serious and even life-threatening. If you have a nut allergy, it’s crucial to avoid all forms of nuts and products that may contain nuts or traces of them. Always carry an epinephrine auto-injector (like an EpiPen) if prescribed, and make sure those around you are aware of your allergy in case of an emergency. Reading labels carefully and being vigilant about cross-contamination are essential steps in managing a nut allergy. If you suspect you've been exposed to nuts and start experiencing symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
So strange. I can eat peanuts, cashews, almonds, processed coconut. But give walnut, Pecans, or coconut from the coconut. My tongue and throat gets itchy. If I eat a lot unknowingly I do get kind of nauseous. Anyway weird. Sucks.
Lot of things gives breathing problem. The big one is when getting scared. Just beeing close to a accident makes some people loose their breath. Phobias works the same way. A combo of non toxic things could turn out to be a hazard.

Peanuts and walnuts are different types of nuts, and having an allergy to one type of nut does not necessarily mean you will be allergic to another. However, cross-reactivity between different types of nuts is possible, as they may contain similar proteins that can trigger allergic reactions in some individuals. If you have a peanut allergy, it's essential to consult with an allergist before trying other nuts like walnuts. They can perform specific tests to determine whether you are allergic to walnuts or other nuts. It's crucial to exercise caution and avoid self-testing, as nut allergies can be severe, leading to anaphylaxis in some cases. Always follow the guidance of your healthcare provider and carry an epinephrine auto-injector if you have a known nut allergy.
