Found this hella useful for me especially because I film most of my RUclips videos in my tiny NYC shoebox. Love the idea of focusing on framing and shooting through doorways for more depth 🔥🔥...also great to see you back 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for always being so honest and transparent. I'm a mobile film maker, and I've been subscribed to your channel for at least 4yrs now. I always appreciate how you present the info u share . It's always incredibly useful and I love that u always add a dose of comedy to your delivery aswell .. Keep doin whatchu do bruhhhhh...👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
re: ugly wall shot: how about casting some shadows and/or reflecting the sunlight into the wall for some contrasting variation? I tried it on my last film and it worked pretty nicely to introduce an interesting but not distracting something something in the bg. (love your work, keep doing your thing)
You're such a detailed oriented filmmaaker my god. When I watch your stuff and how much you plan everything out... it makes me feel like am I doing this right because I'm soooo the opposite. I love watching your BTS and seeing what goes into your films. Now I have to go back and rewatch the film. lol
I shot my first short on a 12mm prime, which worked out at 35mm on the BMPCC OG. I bought a vintage helios 50mm which will be a 150 on the bmpcc. I'm excited to use two lenses and compress space with a 150 equivalent..
Love your style Darious, it's always a joy when you upload. You've been a real inspiration for me to persevere and try as a film maker right from the start! Brilliant work, working within the confines of what you had to hand
I always love your films but dude I really love your BTS, the editing is so phenomenal. Like 4real 4real bruh bruh. After Edgar Wright you are easily becoming my most influential editor. You should try a narrative with this pacing (suggestion). Keep it up.
Ok, so this film that you're making might be fire 🔥 but can we stop for just a quick second and admire the edit on this youtube video. The pacing, the animation and the little bits of foreshadowing that make the entire video really really good. So . . . thank you.
Bro good to see you on my timeline! You are the best in the graphic cutaways (not sure what to call it exactly). Could you do a tutorial on how you do it so well?!
You touched on a BIG mistake I also found when I shot an entire short on my 55 (Full Frame). BLOCKING! Often overlooked as "when the characters move" but it's so much more, you also can/need to block static people too. Great to see you share that misstep, hopefully it helps others and you in the future! This is why I love your content and months between videos doesn't change that. Real INDIE filmmaking at its finest.
Damn~ I’m so glad I decided to check in and I am subscribed how in the hell I wasn’t notified 🤔 I totally missed the energy and the motivation I’ve learned so much from you D #❤ Yep I’m back to work again 😊
Great video! I'm currently filming my 1st Horror film "Boomer's Cell" in an original 1800's jail house, its a 2 story bldg, but very small, I'm having to choose my lens very wisely along with keeping tight shots in order to make the inside look bigger then what it actually is. Keep up with the awesome videos!.
I just recently shot my first short film in a tiny comic shop using my phone camera in 4hrs it was an interesting experience learned alot....Can't wait to shoot my second short film
Personally I see it as a challenge. Shooting in restrictive places means you must be more creative. Look at like this, how would you climb this mountain with the limited gear you have? And take it forward from there.
Dude, this quality of videos and your sub count don't add up to the number of views. This is insane, if I were you I would consider a new channel with a clean algorithm. This channel is being held back so freaking hard, I think if you put your stuff on a new one it'll blow up! How can these videos not have millions of views? No sense at all...
My man you need to remind yourself about using DIOPTERS - you could get those ECUs with the 25 :D Okay I tiped this just before you said it was due to you not being close enough… that was more of a blockade in your head
@@D4Darious i planned to buy a bmpcc 4k but when i try to shoot its so much tint like redish ...is the cam problem or ? tried custom white balance also
Part 2 coming next week.

I always miss you guys.
Ong he was. Bro was probably busy.
Oh snap!! He's done it again!!
DD, you're such a pleasure to work with and learn from. This edit is INSANE! Growth mindset, small peaks. Wow!!!
Damn this is perhaps the most pleasing edit I have seen on RUclips! Great job and looking forward to seeing the finished product.
The editing & storytelling of the BTS just gets better and better, and agreed with the other person in the comments missed you man!

I really appreciate your work and this channel. Excellent breakdown! And I looooove the way that you compose your motion graphics.
This editing.. good lord 🎉👏🏼
Should have ditched that matte box and screwed on some threaded close-up filters onto that 25mm to get those macro shots.
I always love your films but dude I really love your BTS, the editing is so phenomenal. Like 4real 4real bruh bruh. After Edgar Wright you are easily becoming my most influential editor. You should try a narrative with this pacing (suggestion). Keep it up.
You keep on amazing us with these crazy edit skills...Like damn as always
Hell yeah - I didn't know about most of these challenges you had to deal with. I guess that's a blessing of an editor :]
Your sound design is just amazing, If you don't pay attention on it, the video goes smooth as hell
Love watching your bts videos always makes my day better
I appreciate you Alexander.
Really was happy seeing a new vid popping up from you bro, hoped for that one. Awesome done and thanks for sharing. Cheers mate

I still think the piece turned out well. I like how you encapsulated the struggle in this video.
