Some day someone at the NTSB is going to realize that touch screens in a car are dangerous. You might as well give every touch happy driver a beer before departure just to make sure their reflexes are in order. IMHO a bright display is distraction enough but when it involves your vision and two fingers... you just increased your odds of an accident by 90%. If we got stuck with semi-useless air bags, at least we should outlaw touchscreen use while driving. Controls should be single hand use, knobs and switches with obvious detentes. Gauges should be analog, simple and with few "options" (multiple choice meters). Toyota may be on to something here :). Just my .02 worth.
