I have been watching your lawyer day in the life videos for a while, but I went back to watch your older law school videos. It’s so uplifting seeing how your channel and brand has grown and just seeing how you made it through law school gives me the motivation to pursue law as well!! Love your channel!! :)
Congratulations on your second year, girl idk how you are doing it, but keep up the great work as you already know it will be all worth it in the long run.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙋🏽
Your personality is so entertaining 😂 I’m so glad I stumbled on your video and I’m proud of you for taking that year off to prepare yourself the best way you knew how. I’m debating on whether or not I want to take a year off before law school. Thank you for the tips ❤️ you’ve gained a new subscriber!
Thank you for sharing this with us :) I took the LSAT and I am in the process of submitting applications. I shared my LSAT experience and tips on my channel.
I feel sorry for Americans. You have to do an undergraduate then law school. In the United Kingdom you can go straight to Law school after high school (aged 18 what we call sixth form). And that’s only 3 years. Then we do a year practical legal courses and 1 or 2 years training. All in all 5-6 years and then you are a barrister. It takes you 8 years on average to become a lawyer in the United States.
actually in a few states there area loop holes. while most states require it,California, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington do not. I am a british-american and I was so shocked to fine out they have to go to school that long.
But the number of years balance out. So technically, the UK law school route is not shorter compared to the US. The UK (2 years A-Levels, 3 years Undergrad, 1 year BPTC or LPC, 1 year pupillage or 2 years training contract, total = 7 or 8 years). The US (4 years Undergrad and 3 years law school, total = 7 years).
Americans don't need your sympathy. And they do this in Canada so it's not like America is the only place that requires someone to do undergrad and then law school.
Girl I absolutely love your personality! I can't really relate because i'm doing pre-nursing lol but a lot of this is helpful! You're very inspiring and probably one of my new favs! I wish you the best
Kameron Monet I sure hope I did great. I celebrated by taking a long deserving nap. 😂 if I find you on the 12th at Morehouse, I'll let you know how I did 😊 will you be posting more information about the event?
Aww yay!! I’m so happy I found your channel! I’m a senior in college and I’m taking a gap year as well because I have decided to apply to law school congrats hun!
I dont understand half of the undergrad and all that, in Spain you finish highschool at 16 then if you want to go to University you do 2 years of basic subjects + subjects you choose out of the 4 types (health science, technology science, social science or humanities); it kinda just feels like 2 more years of highschool but harder.. after the 2nd year of that, you do 1 test with all the general subjects that everyone has and if you want more score you can add 4 more subjects to that test (again, relevant to the type you chose, science, humanities...). Your grades are 60% of what counts for university score and the test is 40%. For law school the minimun is a 7 which I think is low af
I’m a Junior and hopefully taking the LSAT this summer, there is only two law schools in my state (NJ) Rutgers and Seton Hall but I wonder if I should go out of state too ? My main concern is how am I going to afford and ect when I know working during 1L is nearly impossible
I'll be honest, it's hard not working and being in law school, but you can get quite a bit of loans. As far as deciding whether or not to go out of state really give it thought and know you may have to practice as an attorney in the state you go to law school, because you'll be making those networking connections while in law school at that location
Girl yes to that statement about the lsat, I spent 3k on a tutor just for my score to only increase by one point 😪🙃 but I’m waiting for my acceptances right now 🙏🏽🤞🏽
What undergraduate degree would you recommend an aspiring lawyer to do .or which degree would you chose out of sociology, psychology and criminal justice
Not yet, because as a law student I can't give legal advice. There is a thin line to just talking from an educational point of view and giving advice. I will for sure after I graduate and pass the bar 😄
Barbri, no it's for every school. It's a bar prep course that also gives outlines and study materials for different classes while in school. It's great check it out at barbri.com !
I worked at a District Attorney's office. I'm not 100% sure yet what I want to do with it, but I know I do want to practice. I have a few people that help advise me but no one person individually
AYYYE I go to KSU right now, and I'm looking into law school! Love your channel so far. If you don't mind me asking since you're from the same area, where did you job shadow/intern in the Kennesaw area? :-)
Woot Woot Owl Nation! lol I plan on coming to KSU at some point either this semester or next to talk to the pre-law club so hopefully we'll meet 😄. I did all my interning in Atlanta/Buckhead area. Go on KSU's career website and look on there for internships and talk to the pre-law professors (some of them are attorneys). Dr. Kenneth White was my advisor and he may be helpful
Yeah grad school is a whole other thing, eh? I loved my time in Berkeley but it kicked my a$$. Intense competitive soul searing soul searching and expensive even with fellowships and grants. But they can't take those degrees away from you after you achieve them and the entire experience, while difficult is worth every penny and you as a lawyer will have a better opportunity to make money than humanities PhDs like me! Good Going Young Sistah!!!!
It’s in Birmingham, AL and we’re ranked 6 in the country for our trial advocacy program so considering I want to do trial work and live in the south it’s a perfect fit for me. 😄

Did you do the video on simple laws that people don’t know about?
Not yet, because as a law student I can't give legal advice. There is a thin line to just talking from an educational point of view and giving advice. I will for sure after I graduate and pass the bar 😄

I worked at a District Attorney's office. I'm not 100% sure yet what I want to do with it, but I know I do want to practice. I have a few people that help advise me but no one person individually
