- The restaurant industry has been struggling to find people to work in the age of COVID, so some businesses have come up with a solution - actually hiring robots to replace human servers. When hungry customers came rushing back to a popular Dallas eatery, one restaurant owner used robots to solve a pandemic staffing shortage.
If a real waiter winked at them they wouldn't be so happy about it lol

This robot server is just so adorable!
I think it's funny that people thought these businesses would wait for them to come back to work. Now everything will be automated and they will be screwed.
That was already happening before the pandemic.
Who thought that? Most people haven’t come back because of low wages and no tips. There’s a lot of other jobs that pay much more for the same amount of work or less. The restaurant industry has been preparing to become automated for years and covid accelerated it
This isn't just the restaurant industry. Jobs across the board will be done by these machines and done precisely everytime. Look at the automotive industry. You wouldn't need truck drivers, taxi drivers, etc. It is a plus for companies and the consumer. No need to pay wages, taxes, healthcare costs, etc.

First of all terrible and bad idea many people's hands been in that robots face . plus there's going to be jackasses that will rub . Poop or pee stain in that robot so wherever disease they have will spread it on and the . Customers going to get sick and that will cause a bad experience.

In Tokyo they have Sushi robots 🤖 !They have these serving robots also in Cat 🐱 Cafes!
In China they have also been using robots to replace waiters and waitresses. This has already been happening in the East for quite some time.

Wait staff don’t get paid 15/hr, from the restaurant, they get like $3 or something and have to live off of tips. But yeah this is still cheaper for him I’m sure.

This is actually smart for businesses as long as technology continues to improve and costs continue to come down. Imagine if buildings were constructed in the thought of these types of robots functioning, it's definitely the future.
Yup, until robots start replacing you. Most HR jobs and computer jobs can increasingly be done by A.I.

depends on the restaurant. if you're a $$$$ one you'll still hire human server because rich people pay for the service but anyone below $$$ will have some technology built in it. MacDonald have self service cashiers or using the app to take orders. no one crying about those workers 'disappearing'.
