Could you please make a video about how to structure a korean sentence? 감사합니다 ~
Roni Youkhana I think she said it already in one of her videos~ If I remember correctly it was a video named ‘10 things you need to remember before you start learning korean’ or something like that~
But if you want her to make video specialized just for then the okay ^^
Korean uses sentence structure subject-object-verb unlike English that uses s-v-o (subject-verb-object) so if you try to make sentence in Korean you have to say it like this: I(는 pointing that ‘I’ is a subject) - Korean(를 telling that ‘Korean’ is object) - speak.
I(는)-Korean(를)-speak.
저는 한국어를 말합니다. (I hope that I conjugated 말하다 (speak) correctly :D)
I hope that I helped ^^
And sorry for the long comment xD
First: 는/은 are NOT a subject marker (althought is normally attached to it) but a theme particle so you may see it attached to other complements. 가/이 are subject markers.
And as the previous comment said:
Subject (lots of times is omitted) - Object- Verb
-Also other complements such as place and time go after the subject and before the object, in the middle. But sometimes time complements can go before subject (normally if they are adverbs such as 오늘).
-Clauses(if), explanations (like "because), etc, go before the main sentence. Eg:
- 케이팝을 좋아하기 때문에 한국어를 공부합니다. (I) study korean because I like Kpop.
Hope it helped!
She did say it in a previous vid. For the most part, I believe, it’s Subject - Object - Verb. Or just Subject - Verb
How about maknae?
@@nicolacrisolo2504 yep. it's pronounced "mang nae"
I can't focus on the words. I am mesmerized by your beauty
Really simple, good and clear explanation. Thank you so much!
Yahoo I knew it was imnida 13 yo and I wanted to learn korean language because of the kdramas and you helped me a lot unnie kamsahamnida
Ohhh i see...thanks for the info👍
That's why "maknae" which means youngest is pronounced as "mangnae".
Hi unnie! This is a good vedio. I would like to ask a question. when is the sentence ending "imnikka" used? This is being used in some dramas pls clarify my doubt.
So nasalization is the reason why i never understand korean conversation. Thank you this will help me a lot from now on
So, did it help in the long run?
@@onecuriousowl Nope. Still understand nothing. :|
@@nadari9162 oh god. I’m three months in my studies and kinda worried, hahah!
@@onecuriousowl Though, I never watched KDramas or something similar. Just a lot of music, where the pronunciation is consciously alter to match the rhyme. Oh and I had no one to practice speaking with. That was a problem aswell
@@nadari9162 oh, that makes sense. I don’t like to use music as reference for pronunciation, it varies a lot because of melody (not to mention sometimes I don’t even understand songs in my own native language lol). But I can guarantee you that movies/dramas are really helpful. The reason I can guarantee is because I learned most of my English just through watching Harry Potter and self teaching. Trying to do the same with Korean now.
It’s pronounced IMNIDA because the rule called nasalization. I know it because I studying Korean also. 😉 My salute from Spain. 😻

I believe all languages have this you dont pronounce it how its written which can be confusing so best is to watch films, news or other related stuff to the language you're trying to learn otherwise it will be hard for you to learn it without knowing how to pronounce words correctly.
Trina2126 except in finnish, u pronounce everything as it it's written

Trina2126 expect for Spanish cause Spanish most of the time sounds the way it looks

I really wanna know why 내 (yes) is pronounced as "dae" +with ㄷ sound) and not as "nae" same with the "누나" as "duna" with a d ㄷ sound. I couldn't tell if they were pronouncing it that way or if I heard it that way
Bae tae saranghae I think it has something to do with someone’s breathing or how abrupt you pronounce it? If im not wrong that’s the term? So in foreign ears, it sometimes siunds like “d” sound but the correct way of pronouncing it is with the “N” sound. Let’s learn Korean also discussed it, you can check them out.
in korean n is actually pronounced differently, in english when you say n your tongue is right behind your teeth, but in korean your tongue is a bit further back so at times it really sounds like d

@@klaraciric6282 so it is actually pronounced with the "n" sound but it sounds like "d" to our ears. I get that! Thank you so much for clearing it out to me!

Yeah there are many words like this. It's similar to English with words like "aisle" or "queue". English spelling sometimes makes no sense too
korean makes sense but not englisch lol
And dumb, thumb and all those silent letters
Except those English words have nothing to do with nasalisation
Your right we add a lot of letters to words that have no sound they just exist in the word like gnat why add the g if its silent
@@rmsdimples4912 in french "aux(which means to the-plural) is pronounced "o" like WHAT

for me it's always been logical cause it's hard to pronounce 입니다 as ib-ni-da fast so saying im-ni-da has been natural for me.
also with other badchims. but that's maybe because I've understood the concept of badchims pretty fast (the fact that they're cut of without being breathed). this also makes it logical for me that ㅅ as a badchim sounds like a T and I still see it as the same letter and not a special pronunciation rule.

Ok, but what the hell does imninda mean?! Loll idk
imnida=입니다 is TO BE(am, is, are) It is the polite form of 이에요/예요. Example 저는 학생입니다/학생이에요.
how do you build a sentence in korean
SOV
They^^ mean the sentence structure/order is Subject-Object-Verb, which is obvs different to english BUT there are also particles (such as topic markers and object markers), verb ending changes (based on honorifics) and noun ending changes to worry about. Sorry, idk enough about these myself to explain them but yh, it'll take a while to understand all of these aspects so that u can make your own sentence...
Hope this helped xx

North Korea is 북한 Buk-han.
South Korea is 남한 Nam-han.

Hey, daca vrei sa inveti cuvinte eu iti recomand aplicatia Drops. Si eu folosesc si ma ajutat mult. Cand am hotarat sa invat coreeana am inceput cu duolingo dar mia parut prea greu si mam gandit mai bine daca prima data invat cateva cuvinte si apoi poate sa vina partea de gramatica...
Pana acum am invatat cu drops cam 500 de cuvinte si acum am inceput sa invat si eu cu talk to me in korean si ma uit la videouri pe youtube:)

Hi Korean Unnie! Why 꽃잎 pronounced as "kkonip"? Thanks for your helpful videos. 감사합니다! 파이팅!
The word 잎 is originally "닢" but the initial ㄴ has a dissapeared. However, in compound words like 꽃잎 that sound remains, so it is actually 꽃닢 and it ends up being pronounced as 꼰닢.
While I understood there were sound changes in Hangul I never understood the nasalisation bit of it.
Even when I read up on it ppl were saying that’s why Korean ‘yes’ 네 sometimes sounds like 데 to foreign ears.
This video really helped, thank you!
안녕 하세요 한국어 언니! 저는 알베가 입니다! :) I'm also learning korean language, but sometimes I got confused with words with "ㅌ " used as "ㅅ".
For Example, Netflix, when you try to write it in hangeul, it goes like this, 넷플릭스 when it should have been 넽플릭스.
is there some kind of rules why its spelled like that? the tieut becomes siot, is it also part of Nasalization? 감사합니다! :)
Alvega Lee when ㅅ is at the end it makes a ‘t’ sound
Ok, how about ㅎ? Sometimes you don’t pronounce it, like in 감사합니다. It is more like “kamsaamnida” than “kamsahamnida” (the same works with all 하다 verbs in form of 힙니다).
Or like in 많이 (many). I know that it is patchim, but why do you add ㅎ?
Unnie i'm watching your video and i learn many from you
But when i watch korean drama i hear many phrase and i can't understand them

This video was really helpful ☺️
But I have another doubt...
How do we pronounce 감사합니다?
Gamsahamnida or Kamsahamnida?
I'm confused... G or K?
If you speak any Asian language then it will be easy for you to understand this word is actually "Gh" When it is at the beginning of a word like "ghamsahabnida" When it is in bottom/middle it is Perfect "G" Like "igo"and when it is at the the end it has a little" K" Sound not proper but a little sound. Same goes with some other alphabets in Korean language., if you Will study, you will understand that. Sound are a little complicated for westerns you have to practice more on sounds to identify but if you speak any Asian language specially Hindi, Thai, Japanese, (perfect if you speak Tamil because 1000 of the words in Korean and tamil are same with same accent it is easy for Indians to catch satoori Korean accent which is hard but easy for us, it is actually a long story of Indian princess and marriage of Korean prince ) it will easy for you but again it depends on how much you practice or imitate them while speaking it's fun 😜
I know it's long and a little complicated but hopefully this will help you 🙂

I'm so late dear unnie...but I luv your all videos and it's really helpful to me...:)
So this brings to my attention another word - 못 ...Why is that ㅅ is pronounced with like a 'T' sound rather than a 'S' like the usual? Because for me pronouncing and writing hangul is just not working. lol. And thank you for the videos, helps a lot.
When ㅅ is on batchim and there's no vowel after it, then it becomes ㄷ.
했다 Is pronounced 핻다 and 했어 is 해써.
For 못 it is pronounced 몯 but in the word "mistake" (잘못) if you place the topic marker it is pronounced 잘못은 with an S sound because there's another vowel next to it, so the sound just "flows" to the next syllable.
I have a question
When we want to read 셋 we should read "set" or "ses"?
And where we should read this world ("ㅇ"👈this") "ng" or without any sound?
셋 is pronounced as set because of the 받침 rule and ㅇ produces no sound when it is used in a vowel (vowels can't make sense individually) for example it's 아니 not ㅏ니, here ㅇ is silent, but ㅇ is not silent in for example 방 here ㅇ produces a ng sound
P.s. I'm sorry if I don't make sense cause korean is not my first language, but I hope I helped you❤️
I am now learning 한국어, I can read and Write well, but most of the words, I don't understand them all, how to understand them well? How do you know it's meaning??
