I usually like your reviews, but this could have been a bit more unbiased. These bigger full tower cases were meant for workstation use combined with a little bling. It's essentially a bigger 5000D which was shown in a better light. Anyone owning a Threadripper with multiple GPU's find having space for 480 rads a godsend if they're looking for close to silent operation. Also, the price markup for this case as compared to a 5000D is marginal compared to the parts workstation users will stuff into this thing. Granted this is a product for a rather niche audience, but it has its place.
You can look for builds with oversized cases like this all over youtube, partpicker, reddit etc. Overwhelming majority of them are using components that offer no performance, thermal, capacity installation, or price benefits over similar components in a case 1/2 or 1/3rd of its size. Nor does it look any better compared to Meshify 2 Mini or 011 Mini or P200A etc decorated with ARGB.
I actually love this case. Asus did a cutout for the power supply for their Gundam case to show off the power supply art. The other use for the window is mounting a gauge panel. Jayz Two Cents did a vid on making one not long ago. This is a nice case. I like my 680X better though, I know, it's not the most thermally efficient, but it's different and I dig the look and dimensions. I plan to do some mods to make it a bit more functional.

This case may not be for most people, but it has its uses. I see the cost as a small price to pay when I'll only need to buy one or two cases in my lifetime.
Jay did a great review of this case, it’s obviously design for water cooling, the modular design and creativity you could have with this case is potentially endless, and it’s great to see full tower cases being made again, but with good air flow.
@@Len_M. That’s why ultimately I decided against this case, in the end I went with a Lian Li Lancool II Mesh performance case, it too is a big case and lots of room for “stuff”, but not as big as a 7000X, and it looks gorgeous and is really cool and quiet.

So, I just bought the Corsair 7000X case. Yes.. This is the first full tower case I've owned since the NZXT Switch 810.. I actually really like this case! Performance PCs/Singularity have a nice distro plate for the 7000X that I am looking to add in soon.. Good times!

Hi, I had a 5000xRGB, but unfortunately the glass side broke during a move, so I'm just considering whether it's worth upgrading to the 7000xRGB... (But I don't have a custom water cooling system just an regular 360mm AIO Corsair LCD) What do you think of this decision?
Doesnt leaving the glass panels on the case limit the airflow? Should you not remove them while on use and then put them back while off to cover from dust?
That case looks like a great candidate for my next overkill custom watercooling build. Currently have a Mesify 2 with dual 360 rads installed and its a really tight fit. This case looks like space for days!
I am looking to install the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 AIO, which is not only 420 long like the AIO in this video, but is also thicker, making it quite marginal to install in mid tower cases. I am also looking for an easy install - I don't want to have to fight the case to squeeze it in. So, I am watching all the reviews I can find to see how well my chosen AIO will fit. I am even considering installing push-pull fans around the radiator - yes I am determined to get the maximum performance out of my AIO. So, questions I am looking to answer include: 1. Will the AIO radiator/fan assembly fit without obstructing the motherboard if fitted in the top of the case. 2. Are the pipes long enough to reach from the CPU to the bottom of the radiator, should I install it in the front. 3. How much clearance is there at the ends of the AOI - does it 'just' fit or is there reasonable clearance. The Corsair 7000D Airflow is therefore on my list of possible cases, and is currently second favourite (I have a year to make up my mind). While I note the various negatives listed in this video, I feel they are mostly nit-picking details and this review fails to recognise the one plus that I am looking for - large size for easy install of such a large AIO. Even the cost is not a barrier for me, as I am planning to build a no-compromise system, money no object. I have rejected a number of other reasonably-large cases because I don't like the answers I was getting to the above questions.
Hey dude, i made the same choices with the Case and the Arctic 420 and it fits with no problem even with my E-ATX motherboard theres more than enough emtpy space so dont worry about it.
..... Excellent Leo, Well done Mate. Corsair also neglecting to inform us that to have all top case USB 3.0 ports functional a mainboard with 2X 3.0 headers is required.
I ordered a pci usb 3.0 card that allowed me the extra headers i needed. Im using their pci4.0 extension cable with a vertical mounted strix 3070ti so you never see the extra card
You guys should get Rosie to do some live builds, with the way she slammed the glass panel when unpeeling the plastic cover it will sure get many views.
From someone that just built a new system just 3 days ago, I think this case looks fantastic. I did my build in a 4000d and had a issues with the 8-pin power connections at the top of the motherboard, there is just so little room in that case to work. I ordered the 7000d yesterday. I know everyone has their own opinions on things and my opinion from everything i have seen is that the size of the 7000 looks great and I am certainly looking forward to playing around with this new build. 4 - 120mm fans in the front or 3 140mm fans along with all the extra space for airflow should be a good thing considering the heat generated by these latest graphics cards. My 7900xtx is ramping up fans quite a bit in the 4000d. I'm hoping this new case will help with that since its such a big card and takes up the majority of open space inside the case, leaving little area for air movement.
I like the white cables on the fans. Could they not have made the stickers white or silver? I love my 4000D Airflow and here in South Africa, at current exchange rate, they go for £70.
Leo, if I don't want the drive bays, could you fit THREE 420mm radiators (plus their 140mm fans) in this case AT THE SAME TIME? I am so tired of "full towers" which only offer the same "max" radiators as a mid-tower. If this case will take AT LEAST three 420mm radiators at the same time, then I am VERY interested in buying one for my new custom water loop build - I am NOT a "fan" of 120mm fans - ten 140mm fans for me please.
@@KitGuruTech thanks, not getting one then. What is the point in companies making full tower cases if they don't offer anything more than a mid tower??? Surely it's just poor design if full cases are just a few mm short here or there to fit a bigger custom water loop? If mid towers are designed to be 120mm fan based, full towers should be designed to support 140mm fan based builds, like multiple 420 or even 560mm radiators.
@@KitGuruTech I just heard that this cases side panel, despite being able to take upto a 480mm radiator like the front panel, only has holes for 120mm fans, which is surely just an oversight. If the side plate is the same size as the front plate, and the front plate can take 120 or 140mm fans and upto 480mm radiators as well (including a 420mm radiator), then surely it would be incredibly easy to modify the side plate to just make it the same as the one on the front so you also have the option of a 420mm radiator there as well? I (like many other potential customers) would want to mount three 420mm long 30mm thick radiators: 1 on the top, 1 on the side and 1 on the front all at the same time for incredible cooling, stability, longevity, power efficiency and appearance. Could you please feed this back to the manufacturer? Great video, and fingers crossed they listen to the feedback and make this small change - adding a few extra holes to the side panel surely wont cost them anything, and must surely be worth it for the extra sales profits for them? ;p
I’m building my first pc in this case specifically because it is big. It gives more room for heated parts to breath and move air through, which is (probably) a big deal when the weather during the summer is regularly 98°F (36.66°C) and is already difficult to cool my house. It also gives me plenty of room to expand without having to ever ask “Will this fit in my case?” when considering a part.
sorry if i disturb you but the pwm cable where all the fans go to me go almost 1200 rpm Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX and Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB the fans make noise. I would be grateful if you would give me an answer.Thank you
I have a doubt that i cant figure it out on Reddit and similar forums. I bought this case and a Z790-f Gaming Wifi. The mobo has a 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connector (supports USB Type-C with up to 30W PD Fast-charge) and a 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 header supports 2 additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. I can power all the front panels of this case??
The case is going to require 3x motherboard usb in total, 2x of the rectangle usb 3.1 connrectors and 1x of the smaller usb type c connectors. I ordered a pci>usb adapter board offline to make the extra connections.
This case isn't to bung in an ATX motherboard with an AIO. This case is all about custom watercooling. You can use nice thick rads and still have room for more than one reservoir if you choose to have separate GPU and CPU loops.
So.. can the entirety of the PSU shroud be removed, or is only that piece near the front intake fans removable? It doesn't look like it can be removed.
@@KitGuruTech Thanks for the response. That's unfortunate. I really get a bit frustrated when more expensive PC cases like this are fine adding all these others bells and whistles, but the shroud is permanent and can't be removed.
yeah i just build one of these, and i also noticed i had to have 2 controlhubs, i ended up putting it on top tho not at the ssd brackets in the back. So there was one USB for the hub that was in the case, and i already and i had 2 usb that needed pins, and just 1 slot left. Had to use the splitter to the new hub with the usb to share the mainboard usb, but i could not share the two boxes usb on the same course as i first wanted as that confuses the system. Also i had to build in the dark with a weak headlight, which also was kinda pain to be honest, especially when it came to cable management. I kinda like the case for show, it looks great and the newer H170i is actually pretty cool with the display on it. Would i want one my self...? No absolutely not! I actually have build home that are both build in a NZXT H510 flow cases. Very doable cases to build in and you can fit a nice rad with 2x140mm fans in front, a 140MM at top and a 120mm in the back. Fits an ATX and tho it is tight to build in it at some points, in total its just very easy to manage cables and i just fell in love with the cases
Leo the legend has provided the perfect description of this case a huge box to put things in & that's all it is. All corsair cases look exactly the same
That "awful lot of space" accounts for a lot more than just a large un-used area. Heat dissipation? When you fit a top tier GPU into a case that is definitely going to be pulling power and thus, generating a lot of heat, you ideally want that airflow to be able to do its thing before the temperatures emitting from the said GPU start to heavily interfere with other components in the case. Heat, in a confined area with little breathing room, can affect the ambient so much quicker as opposed to an area that is largely more expensive than the aforementioned. Why do you think small form factor PC's like the Corsair One are modified by many for better cooling? Because there is very little room for fast heat dissipation, especially when they have included something like a 3080TI into the build. I purchased this exact case and AIO for a new PC build a few weeks ago and I am extremely happy. Ambients are perfect, the CPU barely touches over 40 Degrees C with a custom curve, running on a 5.1GHz all-core OC (10900KF). Plus all the included space for pretty much ANY build, along with enough storage space for the average user and space for decent cable management, I highly rate this case. And I recommend it too.
This case is really good, window for the psu cut out is for some rgb psu or to show off your psu, also has 6x hdd bays that's a lot since seeing most cases gear towards expensive ssds.
Rosie's eyes speak volumes. I've just watched J2C's video on the airflow version of this case and he liked it as the basis for a watercooling build. You might want to use a larger table when there are two of you and stand farther apart. You'd need the camera farther back too. This would allow you to have the product between you with both of you still visible. E.g. look at 2:21 when Leo is hidden behind the case.
@@QuentinStephens We wlecome input - the fundamental issue is that video is wide while people work better in portrait. When you have a tall product you need a large rectangle of working space and adding half a metre all round is a big deal. Put it this way, laptops are considerably easier to handle on video.
It makes sense if Corsair is going to launch additional components in their hydro-x custom water cooling lineup like bigger radiators and distro plates similar to EK. Right now they just sell the slim radiators and baby res and if a user wanted to run EK stuff they would go with lian li or another manufacturer that ek makes a custom distro for.
I bought the 4000D Airflow White for £69 just a couple months ago, it is now £95-£105. That's just wow!! I would NOT pay that much for it, but I guess people are doing so since it's literally THE best selling PC case on Amazon currently. 😅 PS. Hi Rosie 👋😁 could you come peel the plastic on my next build??
Awesome review. Appreciate your honest opinion. I watched it after I bought the case and I did have same problem with back door not closing, needing to install second fan controller, useless manual, etc. Something you haven't mentioned - it is ridiculously heavy. I got it in black color though. However, my overall opinion - I absolutely love it. Yes, it has some challanges, but I just took it as a game... It was my first built, when it was all connected - I closed all leads, powered it up and never opened it again for the last 4 month or so. It just works, indeed. Heaving very limited experience with other products - I would definitely recommend this case... but in black. White looks a bit odd
Hm … I am actually interested since my Enthoo Primo is slowly breaking down and getting replacement parts … let’s just say a new case would be a better option The only problem that I run into is that I am not able to find a case that fits my hardware … and the 7000 series from Corsair tick almost all the boxes but then I look at your build and start to realize that My PSU will interfere with the hdd bays and my 480 rad will interfere with the other one so I could not place my 5 hdd’s into it … not to forget I currently use a 140 spot at the bottom to mount my EK Revo Dual D5 and there is no 140 mounting spot on the bottom of this case … So in my opinion this case is to small for my needs (not to forget that I currently still have an optical drive I use but I think that one has to go regardless of what case I might upgrade to)… I am looking forward seeing a 8000 or 9000 series from Corsair in the near future
Looks like to get a good air flow you have to unhinge the glass front panel which defeats the whole purpose of a solid none air permeable front panel. I current have a Corsair Carbide 500R case [in white]. Someone in Corsair's case design team wasn't really thinking. SO I guess I won't be getting one of these, same for the Be Quite Pro 900, which has the same solid front panel problem.
The front and top panels on both the 5000x and 7000x cases have a very amicable gap on either side to allow airflow into the case while the glass is fixed into place. I have had both cases and running a ryzen 7 5800x stress tests with/witout the glass front/top was within 1 or 2 degrees. Either way
Leo vs Cable Management Doors Reminds me of my many battles with the 1000D French Doors... and, come to think of it, the giant tempered glass doors that won't align properly.
Yes, sff cases need more attention, quality mAtx boards and mini atx boards are more than enough (most ppl using atx boards only have a Gpu conected lol)
Here's why the Commander Core XT needs to be released as a separate thing: with the 6 rgb 4-pin headers, I can remove the stupid little RGB hubs from my HD120s. I would absolutely love this! With the littl 3-pin connection for rgb strips, I'm unsure if you can connect an Lighting Node PRO, but that might be cool too. Either way it removes a dang box I wouldn't need, looks less bulky than the commander pro, and thus reduces boxes and cables.
It is a posh office server case/workstation case. But only 6 drive bays is a limitation. Look nice but I personally would pick a less stylish more practical beast, if doing a big build.
Looking at the case overall, it's definitely a straight inspiration from the Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL, so definitely designed with water-cooling use in mind. Leo's opinion and criticism are very accurate though, Corsair could have done and delivered a better product especially when considering the final price range. Always a pleasure to see Rosie as well, is she working at KitGuru like her lovely charismatic papa? Have a great week and keep it up the great job guys
It was actually so off putting seeing your constant attitude in this video. I don't care about your personal opinions on Corsair, I want to see the case detailed, not you slapping around a case panel.
It's a Great Case if you doing a Custom Water Cooling Loop setup or running an E-ATX Motherboard. The price will start out high and work down like everything.
I love my 5000 airflow but that 7000 gives me front panel IO envy! So many USB connections..... I Never bother with that extra rear door. Looks like one advantage is the few people still rocking loads of 3.5 inch hard drives (some people still do that).

Corsair also neglecting to inform us that to have all top case USB 3.0 ports functional a mainboard with 2X 3.0 headers is required.
I ordered a pci usb 3.0 card that allowed me the extra headers i needed. Im using their pci4.0 extension cable with a vertical mounted strix 3070ti so you never see the extra card
it was possible to put 4 fans of 120 mm on the front as well as on the side ??
I concidered this stuck with the 5000d airflow as didn't like top panel clearance on the 5000x
Fairly sure the answer is 'no'
@@KitGuruTech thanks, not getting one then.
Great video, and fingers crossed they listen to the feedback and make this small change - adding a few extra holes to the side panel surely wont cost them anything, and must surely be worth it for the extra sales profits for them? ;p
It weighs empty what my older desktops weighed complete, but I love it, the last case I will ever need.
We need more Rosie on the videos.
I’m building my first pc in this case specifically because it is big. It gives more room for heated parts to breath and move air through, which is (probably) a big deal when the weather during the summer is regularly 98°F (36.66°C) and is already difficult to cool my house. It also gives me plenty of room to expand without having to ever ask “Will this fit in my case?” when considering a part.
we need more rosie in these vids goddamn
I just need her IG
Rosie is my favorite part of the video! :)
to the side of the motherboard to the side can I put three 140 fans? thank you
Can Rosie umm just stand there and not do anything besides the occasional 360 rotational?
Can I buy that PSU from you? I just searched for a Corsair white 1000w PSU and can't find one.
sorry if i disturb you but the pwm cable where all the fans go to me go almost 1200 rpm
Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX and Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB the fans make noise.
You're quite right, it is fixed in place.
All corsair cases look exactly the same
Could you fit a 420 on top , a 420 on the front and a 480on the side?
What about XL-ATX mobo? Can it fit in this case?
Well, now that the 4090 exists it has a purpose for sure.
I think the case is awesome. I am in for one for sure.
Love the grin at 16:40. That would be me. lol
Love Leo!!!
Can this can fit a eatx DDR5 mobo?
yes, this is literally a huge monster case. my regular ATX mobo looks small in it.
Rosie's face about the crumbling ...LOL!!!
If posible, please make complete alphacool built in it.
10:07 ... Lian Li´s UNI Fans implementation is much better than any other company fans ... good review my good sir :)
I'm not sure what the point is of the inner door is.
For some reason my front door won’t close is there anyway I can ge tit to close
Rosie's eyes speak volumes. I've just watched J2C's video on the airflow version of this case and he liked it as the basis for a watercooling build.
You might want to use a larger table when there are two of you and stand farther apart. You'd need the camera farther back too. This would allow you to have the product between you with both of you still visible. E.g. look at 2:21 when Leo is hidden behind the case.
If only you knew how much space that requires .....
@@KitGuruTech I can imagine. But I felt it worth mentioning.
@@QuentinStephens We wlecome input - the fundamental issue is that video is wide while people work better in portrait. When you have a tall product you need a large rectangle of working space and adding half a metre all round is a big deal. Put it this way, laptops are considerably easier to handle on video.
Leo's rage made Rosie run away before pressing the power button. :D
What was the point of the Rosie peeling segment?
lol yeah i was really confused
Did it need to have a point ? Surely a little bit of lightheartedness doesn’t go amiss
Personally I loved that expression on her face like "See what I have to put up with all the time..." 😁
Wow, Danish pricing on the screen. I'm impressed. Don't think I've ever seen that on an English language video before. :-)
You'll notice we made no attempt to read the currencies out loud
@@KitGuruTech that is probably for the best. But just being able to see them is a great value add for me.
And here I was sweating about trying to squeeze 3 rads in the 5000D, and then here comes this gem.
LOVE ROSIE AS MUCH AS I DO THE CASE!!
I bought the 4000D Airflow White for £69 just a couple months ago, it is now £95-£105. That's just wow!! I would NOT pay that much for it, but I guess people are doing so since it's literally THE best selling PC case on Amazon currently. 😅
PS. Hi Rosie 👋😁 could you come peel the plastic on my next build??
Interesting, I have had many many many cases and I have the 7000x and I can't disagree with you in every aspect. Best case I ever had
Wait u have 4 fans dragging the air out at just 3 for in isnt that bad ? shouldnt it be 3 : 3
Awesome review.
Hm … I am actually interested since my Enthoo Primo is slowly breaking down and getting replacement parts … let’s just say a new case would be a better option
The only problem that I run into is that I am not able to find a case that fits my hardware … and the 7000 series from Corsair tick almost all the boxes but then I look at your build and start to realize that My PSU will interfere with the hdd bays and my 480 rad will interfere with the other one so I could not place my 5 hdd’s into it … not to forget I currently use a 140 spot at the bottom to mount my EK Revo Dual D5 and there is no 140 mounting spot on the bottom of this case … So in my opinion this case is to small for my needs (not to forget that I currently still have an optical drive I use but I think that one has to go regardless of what case I might upgrade to)… I am looking forward seeing a 8000 or 9000 series from Corsair in the near future
I love the agitated Leo! We need more Full and E-ATX case reviews LUL
the vertical gpu mount is a big plus for me
Looks like to get a good air flow you have to unhinge the glass front panel which defeats the whole purpose of a solid none air permeable front panel.
Either way
How Mich did all this cost
Currently at £186 and that is a good deal considering that you getting that commander core xt with it !
Why? To fit a 4090 without bending the power cable.
Leo vs Cable Management Doors
Reminds me of my many battles with the 1000D French Doors... and, come to think of it, the giant tempered glass doors that won't align properly.
Gitguru a bit out of touch with who this case is aimed at. Does a rosie come with all these cases 🤔
This case is so dope I want to get 2 just to have a back up.
that back panel closing lol
haha...right?
I don’t get the rosi thing, why?
You have been playing with your computer too long !
It was actually so off putting seeing your constant attitude in this video. I don't care about your personal opinions on Corsair, I want to see the case detailed, not you slapping around a case panel.
I love my 7000D Airflow!
Rosey's a cutie.
It's a Great Case if you doing a Custom Water Cooling Loop setup or running an E-ATX Motherboard. The price will start out high and work down like everything.
I'm happy to see the price has lowered and is close to the 4000 and 5000. I guess Corsair saw people aren't purchasing the 7000 like the other series?
lol dnt know why they put a window where psu sits. because there are psu with temp displays on them,
Like the hinged side panels.
I enjoyed how it was handled like the DEA was using it in forensics.
Lian Li is killin it with their o11 lineup and this corsair is so unnecessarily expensive
I love my 5000 airflow but that 7000 gives me front panel IO envy! So many USB connections..... I Never bother with that extra rear door. Looks like one advantage is the few people still rocking loads of 3.5 inch hard drives (some people still do that).
We want Rosie :)
p.s. The case is brutal.
