As a paramedic who deals with a ton of cardiac related patients, I can tell you that your self- awareness, and trusting your instincts that something wasn’t right played a big part in this dire situation ending with a positive outcome. I encourage anyone that experiences something like this to never hesitate calling 911 or asking for help. Early STEMI recognition, stabilization, and Cath Lab activation by first responders followed by getting you to definitive care (the hospital) in a timely fashion is so crucial. Like John said, this is no time to be a “tough guy”, and we all know John is about as tough as they come. With that being said, I’m very happy & thankful to see you back on your feet, feeling better and home with your family, John 🙏🏼

Wise response. You can always decline if false alarm. But once you're dead u cant come back. Consider baby aspirin, consult your MD. If your hemoglobin runs high normal, your blood is too thick, donate regularly. High hemoglobin increases risk of a heart attack. Yearly cardiac stress test...is wise if risk factors exist. Otherwise I think high omega 3 diet, anti inflammatory whole foods diet, daily exercise, good sleep, low stress life, meditation and prayer etc...are great things to consider to decrease your MI risk.
