these 90's plastic style cameras in are so underrated!!! Like you say they deliver and are reliable. I love shooting in auto or in aperture priority and sometimes use the settings too like landscape or portrait. :) Nice work
Cannot agree more!!!! Pretty much have it in aperture priority mode all the time! Thank you :) I've never really used the landscape or portrait modes but maybe should try those out and see how it goes. I've never had a bad roll or messup with these and yeah definitely agree on them being underrated!
I had until recently an EOS5 (same camera, just the name is different) which I absolutely adored until... the mode selector dial died, so I can only have full auto. Cant control aperture, shutter speed, iso, whether or not to use the flash, nothing. So absolutely gutted, and it happened in the middle of a roll of film :(
You've probably got a faulty contact on the bottom of the dial with the switch underneath. That can be easily fixed. It's unusual for the electronics to go on the fritz, but when it does, it's usually a resistor that may have burnt out. They can be replaced, if you know how to look for faulty components and are OK with soldering. Sometimes, it can also be corrosion due to dust/dirt and humidity, which can play havoc with the electronics. A CLA can cure that, unless the damage is deep and extensive.
@@carltanner9065 I'm 90% sure its not an electrical issue as its a known problem that the dial and the spring connected to it wear our and just start spinning. Its a couple of bits of plastic that have worn out.
Yay! So many pics that brought back the memories! Looks like a super chill camera to shoot with!
Thats right!! Good times 😊😊 Super easy, never has given me any trouble!

Oh no!! Such a bummer, thats what I always get afraid of with electrics :(
