So good to see a modded 400 ^_^, brought a 2023 ninja 400 about 7 months ago and my top speed is 168 stock, I've changed my exhaust that's pretty much it haha i need these mods ASAP
Cool vid, I'm in the process of performance mods now. Toce full exhaust and their ecu flash, and high flow air filter (thinking about the TST Worx air box too).
The slipper clutch on the stock 400 is notorious for being delicate, I'm sure it'll need swapped pretty quick, and I'm not sure if there's any upgrade to increase durability
Does one spend an extra 1500+ (think taxes fees, etc) on ecu, and setup/diag, OR should one just get a 650? Yeah, this "debate" seems a bit more cut and dry.
650 doesn't have much better acceleration than the 400 and it's heavier. It's 0-60 time is practically identical to the 400. It's got a top speed 10-15mph faster than the 400, that's it. If you are looking for a fast bike you will be disappointed with the 650. It's a sport tourer, meant for highway use at moderate speeds of 65-85mph.
I'm *always* the advocate for buying the bigger engine, but the 400 is incredibly light and I'd honestly rather put the extra money into making it a little quicker, than buying a considerably heavier 650. If the 650 were a four-cylinder, that would change everything. But it's still a twin.
Just the weight difference is huge its extremely noticeable I would rather have the 400 on the track then the 650 also the price makes no sense because if you want the bigger motor then just get a 600 inline 4 😭
Nice! I'm wondering if the twitchy throttle is due to fuel cut- off on the overrun. Cars do it (fuel cut-off) but the slow response time of the car hide the potential jerkyness.
Usually it's the main source of the twitchy throttle and it's the first thing you deactivate for smoother response. Some additional tweaks to ignition advance might be need to improve it further.

@@Seitter494 it’s like $50 per hp for a 636 and you get way more ponies + electronics. This 400 has a cost of $135 per hp. It’s also only 50hp instead of 130hp like the 2015 636 that you could’ve got instead of this
@@NSDG813 I mean 2WDW makes kits w/ air box/ exhaust/ flash for the 636 with a value of about $2000. This kit claims to take your 636 from stock 103hp to about 123hp after everything is installed. That’s about $100/hp, and really i’m not sure about power:weight ratio but I’m sure the N400 is still competitive on that scale even with a modified 600.
The N400 isn’t a supersport, so it doesn’t really work to compare them but just my .02
How much u spent in total
About $1200
Hi complete newbie here, Is it hard to do an "ECU Flash" ? I'm looking to get a Ninja 400 as a first Bike and would love to do a Performance upgrade down the road.
Not hard at all! There are plenty of videos on how to pull the ECU out, and then you just mail it out/get it back, then plug and play. Definitely worth the upgrade, if not for the power then for the extra smoothness
@@itssouthpaw Sorry for such a dumb question, but are these Performance Mods Street Legal ?
@@SacrificiaLamb.8R some of these mods are sold wi the a disclaimer “for race use only”.
That said, no one is checking.
Hey bro do these mods give you a little more torque in the higher gears? I just got a brand new 400 wanting to upgrade eventually.
More power across the whole rev range. Biggest thing is way smoother bike
Why is your engine light on? Is it because of the mods?
explain how the "oil filter" is a power mod wtf lmao
😂
I beg to differ you do not have the most powerful 400 on RUclips
Also do you have any dyno sheets to back your claims? Temperature and humidity affect the numbers
I do not 😪 i guess youll have to take my word for it 🤡
@@itssouthpaw don't worry I posted the link to prove mines more powerful lol

@@stephenbotello5914 thats a sweet bike and rly cool upgrades! Were all part of the ninja fam ❤️
@@itssouthpaw ya lol my goal is to just have the most insane, wicked, powerful, 400 lol. Custom built heads are next
What's the exhaust bro??
Its spelled out in the video
Bro, where's the evidence of the power gain?
My mt09 has double that power and all I can say is props to anyone who is stoked on 53hp! Have fun and be safe!
It's 890cc brother. I hope it has more power than a 400 lol
How’s the quick shifter
Butter smooth
I mean, 23% of 45 is only 10 HP lol. Any other bike picks thar up with an ECU flash 😅
Why buy 400 to spend all that money on it to get a 650 at best performance out of it
You can really push a 400, modded is just more fun. You can't really push a 600 or liter bike to it's full potential.
0-60?
4.2
You have the same bike as me 🥲
I have the same bike as you 😍
It's possible to trim 25 lbs off of the bike to gain ~3 more hp.
You won't gain hp but will be faster
Nah bro that thing is STOCK. Don't be lying to your followers smdh 😒🙄😑
Jk, keep up the good content my dood! I hope my videos can be this good one day
Mehehe your turn on the R7 weeeee
2 cylinder lawn mower no ty
Power shifter fun? Learn to speed shift yourself that is real fun
😂
It's not worth modding low cc bikes. Just buy a faster bike
If ur no skill roll racing i completely agree!
ruclips.net/video/XsTw6qCNJhg/видео.html seu top Speed supera esse ?!? 🤔
Just buy a Z6 🤦🏻♂️
Vin-Che dog... Vin-Che 🤌🤌
add overbore throttle body also maybe and upgrade gear box.
Waiting for a good deal for velocity stacks here in europe, not too popular bike in this side.
Hey, I notice your consume data works in the dashboard, mine mpg etc dont work after remap ecu flash. How you did?
That might be a question to ask the company who flashed your ecu!
Why did you have a check engine light on?
@@abuelofm5 my bike model had an ecu from a specific kawasaki factory, that engineers coded with z400 specs. When it got flashed, it caused an error. I then took my ecu to the flasher who reached out to kawasaki and they corrected it and the cel disappeared after that
@@itssouthpaw Got it, thanks!
What’s the mpg after these mods?
lol
I’m kinda curious too, it’s the whole reason I bought this bike.
