    I was on the fence about the N400, even though I believe that the stock HP will be just fine for me. Now I see that a simple upgrade will remove any doubt. This installation is TOO easy. Had my 400 dynod today and it’s putting down 60.10HP at 10k rpm. I only removed the snorkels from the air box. Didn’t modify mine yet. I made my own velocity stacks at my job in carbon fiber, printed them and tumbled for a few hours to smooth em out. Full Toce exhaust with a local tuner flashing the ECU. I had 87 in the tank also. The guy almost dropped his jaw. He said I left a bit of power on the table plus it was hot as fuk in there. 100 ambient. Im making a ram air to fit inside the stock airbox so that and the better fuel, should be pulling close to 65 easy when I’m done. Not bad for such a light bike.

This video shows with full exhaust already installed, only a high flow air filter isn't used, but we have dyno data on our website for that. The Ninja 400 is fuel injected, the fuel filter is on the fuel pump, it doesn't make sense to change to an aftermarket fuel filter unless the OEM one goes bad, and it won't change how much horsepower it makes.

    What kind of gains does the ninja 400 see with just the flash and stacks, and a aftermarket air filter/modified air box... And a cheap slip on?
    Can't really justify spending $1500+ for the full kit to only see maybe 7hp.. it's a $5k bike.
    That's like 30% of the bikes value.. or $215 per HP to do things proper.. seems nutty to me.

    • @NortonMotorsports
      @NortonMotorsports  2 года назад

      With stock exhaust and/or slip-on, it's still around 4-5 hp gain for velocity stacks and ECU flash. As to horsepower to cost ratio, this is very cheap for the amount of horsepower gain, especially being bolt on. Keep in mind, on average each horsepower gained in the automotive / motorsport industry is around $400-900, so for 7 hp, this is well under the average. Also, especially for these ultralight-weight bikes, it's very common to spend upwards of a third to half the MSRP on modifications depending on use. For racing, people often spend 100% or more modifying these bikes to be as competitive as possible.
