- This is a full size Searey airplane kit build and flight video. The Searey airplane was built from a kit of 5200 pieces in 8 months while also working full time. Building in my home was a big contributing factor in getting it done quickly.
I thought my wife was being very understanding and letting me build an RV in the garage. Yours is a saint!
Yes I agree with you. My wife and I have been married for 43 years, 4 children and 12 grandchildren.
Cấu trúc mô hình rất tinh vi và chất lượng cao,chi tiết mô hình của mình tượng ứng, cảm ơn video chia sẻ của bạn rất hay, chúc bạn sức khỏe và hạnh phúc.
Thank you for your comment.
Great job Sir! Definitely a labor of the love for flying.
Thank you for your kind comment.
Building the plane: Great achievement
Doing it in your living room without been kicked out the house by your wife: Out of this world :)
Thank you Tim, And yes I have a wonderful Wife for putting up with me.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing. I kept waiting for you to have to tear out a wall to get the fuselage out of the living room, but you never did!
What engine do you have? That did not quite sound like a rotax, but I could be wrong!
Thank you Sam, The engine is a Rotax 912.
Are you still flying the Searey Tom? Did you have enough room in the cockpit and was it comfortable? Great video.
Yes it has enough room in the cockpit and is very comfortable.
No sound
If you are not from Canada then I messed up somewhere. Now that's commitment to finish building that.
Yes building an airplane is a big commitment, and it takes time and persistence in order to complete the project in a timely manor. Especially while working full time also. Thanks for your comment.
@@tomrammel Excellent, I plan on doing the same with the same aircraft but not until semi-retirement. This aircraft looks just right for puddle jumping around the Bahamas and the Florida Keys.
Where are you located I am picking up my basket case searey in two days would love to see a completed one in person
Minnesota
Was this a Lsx or classic? B hull or C?
It was an original kit that came with a B hull and I purchased the fiberglass C hull to put on it.
@@tomrammel awesome
I’m f your ever around Pensacola area and need someone fly around with give me a shout. Look up my you tube , it’s my name .we have some good areas to fly here. Mine is a B hull. There’s nothing wrong with a B . Just need stay on top of the trim when landing is all.
How much was the kit?
Here is the link to the company that makes the Searey kit. You will have to check with them for the current cost. www.searey.com/aircraft/kit/
how fast is it?
About 85 at cruse, you can push it faster but it is not very efficient. It is more for cruising around at low altitude and enjoying the view. Plenty of drag.
How the hell did you get it out of the house?
The room in the house where the airplane was built has an 8 foot sliding glass door, But I had to remove the fixed piece of door as well as the sliding piece on the walkout side of the house. All of the painting was done in other buildings, Not in the house. The wings were added after the completed fuselage was out of the house. It was very convenient to work on every evening after getting home from work, and every weekend in order to complete the build so quickly. 950 Hours in 8 months while working full time and driving 2 Hours to work and back 5 days a week.
@@tomrammel that’s cool! It looks familiar actually, before I was married I built a 383 stroker in the living room. Lots of times when I thought I was done for the night I ended up doing more because it was there.
@@martybrasher I am still working on restoring a 1972 C20 pickup truck. I rebuilt the 350 motor. New pistons, rings, cam, and bearings. The painting is almost done. Just the tailgate left to paint and a few odds and ends left.
A little overboard for a piece of furniture isn’t it.
Tim, building it in the house got the project done faster. I have a very wonderful and understanding wife.
@@tomrammel just busting you chops it was a labor of love and it showed Have fun with it.
I couldn’t watch the flight, I got dizzy
Yes, I know the video is very Shakey, I believe my daughter was recording the video and she may have been in a boat. Sorry about that.
He’s not married……..
Yes, I am married to a wonderful wife. We will celebrate our 44th anniversary this July.
@@tomrammel wow, does she have a sister? My wife likes our house looking like a realtor would show it and we never have quests lol
@@tomrammel impressive number now days 👍🏻
I’m thinking of building an Aventura II seaplane
@@martybrasher She has two sisters but you and the two sisters are married. The level of our house above where the airplane was built is kept very clean, and is where my wife spends most of her time.
