Had my duster 5 years & 50,000 miles & apart from a service every year i have not had to spend a penny on it. Great cheap car leaves me more to spend on motorcycles. 4WD is great as the worst snow in the UK has never stopped it yet. Hope to get another 10 years out of it...thats value for money. Cheers.
My thoughts exactly. All I want from a car is it to be practical and reliable. I have my motorbike for fun 🏍
I only had mine for a year and only lost €200 on it com trade in.

I have sold my BMW M240 and bought one and I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made, great to drive, lots of kit and I actually think it looks great. Very impressed

The duster is hands down the best budget suv on the planet. Ive driven the new one and also the 2017 model. Drove 4x2 models on mountains, narrows passes, hills pretty much everywhere, it always felt like a 4x4 although it was a 4x2 model. Can imagine the 4x4 model. Top stuff... i even driven it in off roads in Italy spain... amazed and amazed my fellow passengers. Top car well done dacia.
I completely agree. My Mk1 I bought two years ago in March 2017 has done 38,000 miles. I've just traded it in for a Mk2 Prestige model just one six weeks ago, which I'm so delighted with. I couldn't believe how amazing the improvements are .. What a fabulously built car this is .. I've watched the build videos on RUclips many times .. So so impressed ..

Altin Alihajdari - Hello .. the Mk2 is far better. The steering is more precise and the cabin noise is far quieter due to the thicker windscreen glass. There is a huge improvement in my opinion. I drove 38,000 miles in my Mk1, I’ve done 20,000 miles in my Mk2 from brand new ...

Got the SE 20 limited edition in September great and 48.6 with the petrol 1.3. Love it.
Superb Tough reliable car, with good looks and a superb 4x4 drive train. The best engine is the 1,2 TCe 125

Between 1:51 and 3:20 he could have been describing a rolls-royce silver-shadow. Bar the 115hp 1.6 - the power to weight ratio is actually better!

1.6 petrol 4x4 nice ride, great fuel economy - 6.5l/100km out of town. What's more to wish?

Nice car but disappointing that the only petrol engine available at UK launch is the dated 1.6 Sce. Best to hold on until 2019 when Renault/Dacia should be offering their new 1.3 TCe petrol engine as an option.
Some people just need a basic transport. No soft plastics on the dash (how many touched it since it left the dealer?) or felt lined door bin. Here in the US, a Ford Harley Davidson edition pick up costs $125,000.00. Yes there are cheaper models, it is still expensive for contractor.
Comically slow yet when I test drived it I cruised past most drivers except undertaking Audi drivers... I think you'll fine it just reasonably powered for the average driver...
I was looking very forward to getting one of these, however it sadly has no automatic transmission model available :(
I find that rather strange, as the previous model has it. Why no automatic version in the newer model?

Dacia seems to be doing a Skoda. Back in the 80s they were the sick joke of the car world, look at them now. Lets just hope that Dacia dont lose sight of the value for money aspect, as Skoda has. How much is a Kodiak compared to the Duster!

Well, Dacia has always been "Renault" as from its beginning and until its purchase by Renault it always produced Renault licensed or based cars. The thing that Dacia brought to Renault was an already established brand known for decent quality for a low price, just the thing they wanted without having to spend a lot of money on a new one, that could fail and would be pricier because it would have to recoup all the marketing money at the start.
I'm guessing this joker doesn't understand how engines work. If you rev it harder it will go faster. Peak torque at 4000 rpm and peak bhp at 5500 rpm. The car shifts if you use the revs and gears right.
The thing is,, are these Dacia Dusters like any other Renault, absolutely awful to work on, such as changing bulbs?

Just bought a nice clean 2018 duster good condition with 42k miles. I'm going to give it back. It's ride is fine and it's good around town and on country roads, but on a dual carriage or motorway, it's almost impossible to get up to 70 mph, so it's not very safe for overtaking. Basically it's gutless above 65. Also, I hate the gearbox. It has six gears, but you are constantly changing gear, as the gears have a very small rev range each. Basically its top speed is pathetic and you are constantly, I mean constantly working the gearbox. If you do a lot of dual carriageway or motorway driving, don't buy one.

Yep, with the 1.6 petrol. Try to do it with the 109 diesel engine or later on with the new diesel of 125hp.

The Range Rover is obviously better than the Dacia but you have to ask yourself is the 10x price justified? And the answer is a resounding no. I thought one of the primary functions of laisseze-faire capitalism is supposed to lower prices of products and make them more affordable not have them increasing year after year, and new cars are nothing if not outrageously overpriced. At least with Dacia you know you're not getting ripped off.
Competition should always be encouraged which is why I don't understand Dacia haters.
The Dacia will probably be more reliable.
Long story short... Its a cost effective piece of shit with a half-decent engine.
If you drive Dacia in the UK, people call you a looser and for that reason I'm not going to buy it.

I know a company manager with a Porsche and a Dacia and he comes to the office sometimes with the Duster as well , so probably not the car is the problem but your self respect you have to think you are equal to everybody and don't see yourself as a small little man . Good luck and God bless!
I got a Dacia Sandero Stepway (now I am thinking to change that with a Duster) and nobody calls me a loser actually they are really impressed by the car. Are you sure others call you a loser and is not you doing that? Just saying.
