- Selfiee movie review by Sucharita Tyagi - Movie star cut down to size by erstwhile fan kyunki "kisi ko toh karna padega", might be my fav sub-sub-genre of storytelling.

Unpopular opinion, or maybe popular who knows, the one genre Akshay Kumar does best is comedy, the actor has the gift of comic timing, which in the first half of the film is on display to hilarious effect. Apni looks par jokes, overbearing producers par joke, sab with a straight face, its vintage Bhool Bhulaiyya Akshay, broad strokes humor ke beech mein sparks of clever satire and meta observation. But post interval, he reverses back to movie star full stop aur sab kuch phir se heavy-handed ho jaata hai. A sequence at a driving test with a huge number of people watching live instead of being the observation on parasocial relationships it could have been, ki movie star agar ande khareedne bhi jaayega toh jeene-marne ki stakes ho jaaynegi logon ke liye, remains a laborious, dialogue-heavy gotcha moment upon gotcha moment sequence, turning into a nothing burger.
But I did learn ki slope par gaadi park karte hain toh tyre tedhi karke karni chahiye, for more such driving tips, watch selfie at a theatre near you.

Original Driving Licence kis kis ne dekhi hai? Which one is a better watch, tell?
The original movie painted both of them as deeply petty and arrogant men. It did hold a few punches but it had some clever writing where all the problems they had to face was created by their own BS.
The reason I feel that makes these remakes uninteresting is star value.....in Malayalam industry star value is not a factor for most heroes and thus there is no need for scenes to show the hero always win..a hero with ego and human emotions and failures are accepted by audiences... Bt in Bollywood there is a deliberate effort to please fans of heroes and hero losing even for a scene is unacceptable...in Malayalam version Prithviraj s character wass written in a way to focus on the normal personal side of the star while akshaya character avoided that and focused only on the star side ... The same thing caused downfall of Vikram vedha also

Driving License is poorly understood. It’s about two guys from different walks of life who are both right and at time both wrong
You deserve a Roadies salute for putting more thought and reasoning in your review than the writer did with the screenplay 🫡 Safe to say Selfieeeee will be one of the movies this year.

I can't believe Jug Jug Jeeyo is one of your favorites as it felt like an incomplete film which treated its subject too lightly.
That tells u what kind of critic she is.
@@hsd287 Divorce was treated like simple fight between couples in the film. The parents' story didn't even get a proper closure.
@@eshanvisual3404 Did you even watch the film? In the end nobody gets a divorce as everything is magically resolved by senti dialogues. Anil says that he would convince his wife to stay with him. Sucharita is married herself lol

Felt embarrassed after listening this about a crap movie jug jug jiyo. Definitely she paid-reviewed/paid-praised that movie and also has bad sense about movies sometimes, especially praising the crap ones.

I think Akshay needs to what SRK did and just reevaluate his scripts. SRK was mass producing garbage films from about 2013 to 2018, and everyone got tired of him. Even though Pathaan was average, people wanted to see him again after a while. All these guys need is the right script
Like SRK he just needs to go away for more than 4 years
Superstars have the advantage to select good scripts, best directors, top producers. If he continues to give flops, failure is on him and nothing else!

अक्षय कुमार की ये फिल्म फ्लॉप होना तय है। बासी overexposed अक्षय कुमार, सिर्फ अपनी झूठी मार्केटिंग कर हर फिल्म हथिया लेते हैं।
दर्शक इन्हे समझ चुके हैं कि अक्षय बस एक औसत कलाकार हैं, और इनकी हर महीने आने वाली फिल्म सिर्फ औसत या फ्लॉप रहेगी
प्रोड्यूसर्स और फाइनेंसर को अक्षय को लेकर अब अपने पैसे खर्च नही करने चाहिए।
