It was a terrible film, John was hamming throughout and I bet you don't remember a single action scene from the film. Only Varun Dhawan was decent as that goofy character.
TZH was so good in terms of action set pieces, especially, Katrina Kaif in the song, "Tera Noor". I was blown away by her physical ability in hand-to-hand combat scenes. Also, Sultan and TZH are AAZ's best movies for me.

I'm still waiting for a proper Buddy Cop Action Comedy in Indian Cinema something like Bad Boys, Lethal Weapon, Nice Guys etc. It's such an enjoyable & entertaining genre and used to be a sure shot moneymaker in Hollywood. I hope someone tries to bring something different to the genre in Bollywood in future.

Watched MAidaan today in a empty theater. it is sad that a superb movie like this is not finding takers. Ajay Devgn (and i am not a fan) should get a national award for this. Great to see golden period of Indian football and the football matches shot brilliantly in the 2nd half.. Last 1 hour is pure goosebumps
Why they would choose BMCM and make a movie like this. It will just be compared or rather overshadowed. The original was made with a stellar starcast even the madhuri's cameo with makhna. Although story was inspired from bad boys. The range of emotions by the legends in each of the songs is levels above. Just what were they thinking.

Maine aage 5 filmein ki date di hain. 40 ads hain fir mujhe apne se aadhi umar ki actresses k saath thumke bhi lagaane hai canada jaake concert mein. People might be just noticing, but the akshay problem has been going for so long, the guy used to give all his heart to his projects and act so well, be it comedy or action. But lately with his movies it just feels from his presence and dialogue delivery like he's just there for his paycheck. His acting has been wooden and stale in every movie now especially in selfie, samrat prithviraj and now this. Glad you noticed this as well.
When the news of this project came, I thought I would watch it for Prithviraj. But when the trailer came, I thought I will wait for OTT release... Good thing they mentioned the previous movies of the director in the trailer. So, I went and watched Maidaan in theatre and it turned out to be a good decision. As for Prithviraj, I would rather watch Aadujeevitham a third time.

I watched the movie before watching the reviews and it was not that bad. I agree it has lot of flaws in the plot but still looked good on the big screen. The action sequences are enjoyable but only in theaters. I would say Indian movies are getting better in vfx.

At this time I think producers & directors of these kind of films live in a self created bubble. They think that they are making some kind of masterpiece,but they are totally disconnected from the reality.
I'm still waiting for a proper Buddy Cop Action Comedy in Indian Cinema something like Bad Boys, Lethal Weapon, Nice Guys etc. It's such an enjoyable & entertaining genre and used to be a sure shot moneymaker in Hollywood. I hope someone tries to bring something different to the genre in Bollywood in future.

Poor Akshay, what more could he have done, he chose a half decent filmmaker this time but that filmmaker made his worst film with him. We blame the actors too much, a film fails on so many levels to be a bad film.

Watched MAidaan today in a empty theater. it is sad that a superb movie like this is not finding takers. Ajay Devgn (and i am not a fan) should get a national award for this. Great to see golden period of Indian football and the football matches shot brilliantly in the 2nd half.. Last 1 hour is pure goosebumps

Why they would choose BMCM and make a movie like this. It will just be compared or rather overshadowed. The original was made with a stellar starcast even the madhuri's cameo with makhna. Although story was inspired from bad boys. The range of emotions by the legends in each of the songs is levels above. Just what were they thinking.
The makers were in a rush kyunki akshay kumar would have told them- 50 din ka time de raha hun. Usme ho jaati hai shooting toh theek hai warna main toh nahi ruk raha. Maine aage 5 filmein ki date di hain. 40 ads hain fir mujhe apne se aadhi umar ki actresses k saath thumke bhi lagaane hai canada jaake concert mein.

I agree with what you said about Akshay being on autopilot because it genuinely felt like he was just here for the cheque while Tiger actually had fun with the role. (I can't believe this is what it's come to, but Tiger was more enjoyable in this film for me than Akshay.)

When the news of this project came, I thought I would watch it for Prithviraj. But when the trailer came, I thought I will wait for OTT release... Good thing they mentioned the previous movies of the director in the trailer. So, I went and watched Maidaan in theatre and it turned out to be a good decision.
As for Prithviraj, I would rather watch Aadujeevitham a third time.

I watched the movie before watching the reviews and it was not that bad. I agree it has lot of flaws in the plot but still looked good on the big screen. The action sequences are enjoyable but only in theaters. I would say Indian movies are getting better in vfx.

Honestly just watched the film for Prithviraj only, ignoring all the cringy dialogues and illogical scenes. He was kind of bearable to watch in the film in my opinion.
