🏮Lantern Rite (8 CELLOS VERSION) ||

Happy Lantern Rite, and happy Lunar New Year to all of you who celebrate!!! ❤️🏮
This was one of the very, VERY first Genshin tracks I ever heard that made me cry (and still does)... and also one of the very first I thought "hey that would be so fun to arrange for multiple cellos". I even started writing the arrangement all the way back in summer 2023, but then I figured that it would be best to actually get it done for one of the Lantern Rite patches! So here we are~ I really love this track... I love how the theme itself gets repeated throughout different instruments and takes on different emotions - hope, triumph, pure joy, exuberance... it's a gorgeous piece of both melodical writing and orchestration too. And I love that we've had slightly different iterations of it throughout the game's version cycles! I went for the very original one for this because I think it's the most iconic one, but hey, let me know which version is your favourite!!
In terms of Lantern Rite festivals... I think my favourite in terms of story has to be the one where we learn about Guizhong. (GIVE US PLAYABLE GUIZHONG HOYO PLS I BEGGGGG) And I haven't finished the current one yet so no spoilers please!!

My favorite Lantern Rite has to be the first one. Seeing Xiao's little smile at the end changed the trajectory of my life (at least in Genshin lol). Even now, hearing the strings swell in Liyue Harbor always gets me in the emotions. This cover did too. It was beautiful! Thank you!
