Way to go Jay, am I right?? Technically it was a duet, cuz his dog Drax was a dancing on stage. Try it yourself right here: www.guitarworkoutoftheday.com/run-the-gauntlet-001-signup
This was genuinely one of the most well put together RUclips videos I've seen in a long time! And what an epic video idea for someone like yourself in a position to help other inspiring guitar players! #YoudaMan
Omg - Jay that was brilliant!! Holy crap I was super nervous too like I was tracking your heartbeat. It was hilarious. You were way to modest as well - it was really good no matter how good it was in practice. Tim - what an awesome idea. Most of us do 50 takes and then show someone the best one. NOTHING like reality. I love this concept and executed brilliantly in the way you put together the video. My heartbeat is finally slowing down lol
Thanks Angus - yes, my internal BPM spiked as I sent "ma boy Jay" into that first gauntlet. Only the brave and crazy are willing to go first, to show us it CAN be done. Makes me thing you'd be a pretty great guitar gladiator, Angus. Hmmmmmm?
I feel for your student. As a middle age guy that started lessons last year and was put on a showcase for the music school to play in front of people, I know how hard that can be. My teacher also had me practice so I could go in a studio and record. Red Light Fever is real. So hard to nail down a a clear performance when the tape is running
I went to a guitar jam could play alive by pearl jam without much problem soon as I played in front of other people it was like Marty mcfly fade-in from the photo

Everybody who plays knows exactly what you're saying Jay! You did great!
Great job, Jay - and great video, TIm.

I am looking forward to learning more from you and thanks for being there for us.

Thanks for putting yourself out there Jay. Well done!

Thanks and yes, well played Jay the Brave⚔️
Proper editing job here, pal. Excellent. Very cute.
What an awesome idea! The presentation is pehenomenal! Jay can proudly wear his honey badger badge now!
Lovin' Jay's new nickname!

Ha - what have I got to lose except my dignity? Gladiator II is being released in Nov. I can pretend I’m Russel Crowe!
I love it, that was great! Keep it going.
Hey thanks - we're cookin up episode 2 as we speak...
Fantastic job Jay! Excellent work! Great coaching Tim!
Thanks JZar - you could be next! Bwah ha ha!
Best video I’ve watched in a month.
Love the concept!
Jay is my new idol! Not sure I would’ve been able to pull off what he just did.
Agreed, he totally stepped up to the plate - my goal of making everyone who watches this nervous seems to be coming true. Yoinks!
I know the feeling of having it perfect during practice, but then it goes sideways when somebody else is watching. He did great nonetheless.
Yeah it's a whole 'nother story when someone's watching, LIVE, right??
Fantastic as always, Tim. Good job, Jay!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job! And a Bravo to the student 👏
Nice dude! Love this idea
We're gettin' experimental over here
This is freakin awesome !! Gotta do more of these!!

The nobel gauntlet running honey making badger. A true honey badger. Way to go Dr Jay!
I didn't spot that till now - his gauntlet spirit animal was his DESTINY
Good onya Jay, sounded great. Also a great way to give us wannabe guitarists a workout 🙂
Thanks for watching - cookin' up episode 2 this week. Another guitar warrior volunteered.
Neat idea!
Thanks!
Handicap badgers are awesome shredders❤
Pirate BadgaARRRRRRS
@guitarfriendtim that could be the GFT band's name "The Pirate Badgers"
I went to a guitar jam could play alive by pearl jam without much problem soon as I played in front of other people it was like Marty mcfly fade-in from the photo
Just keep playing,, that was a hard test for a new player,, in a few years you will improvise all over that track with ease,,
Agreed!
