I enjoyed watching your videos. I have a 70 inch sharp tv the back lights come on when you hit the power button , but they won't turn off with the power button. The screen has a blue screen but no picture. I was wondering if you have ran across this problem and do you know what to do to fix the problem
So, it depends... if the dark spots are kind of sporadic- some here, some there... then yea, I'd say this is what would do it.... if you notice that the dark spots are altogether- like the entire left or right corners, then it could be the led controller board and not the LED's themselves.
Great video, thank you! I ordered the LED strips and put them in but it looks like there are about 4 strips on either side still not working. Does that point to some motherboard issue maybe? I don't have much experience past replacing the LED strips.
Where do you order the light strips at for this TV?
do you repair power boards any if so how much i have a 70' vizio i dont wanna throw away and im having troubleas finding a replacement board

So someone gave me this TV and it works but its dark in spots, I'm guessing only some of the LEDs are out. Would this resolve dark spots? Guessing so.

Do I have to toss the clips or can I reuse them.... I don't have any thermal tape and I was hoping to replace the strips tomorrow

I was hoping to do this repair myself... don't have the resources I guess. Om average how much does something like this cost in a shop
$300 is what i was quoted. Did it myself for $60 and a few hours.

What if my screen works but about half my screen is brownish and the other half is fine? Anyone know what that would be?
