You are walking in the woods late at night in a small, rural town. You usually don't take this route home, but you're expecting company and decide to take a shortcut. Suddenly you feel as if something is watching you. This feeling, along with the occasional breathing being heard from right behind you, seems to last for what seems like half an hour. You reach a small clearing in the trees, the halfway point marking your journey. You begin to feel a wave of relief wash over you when suddenly you hear a twig break turning 180 degrees you are met by Green Morrissey and he spooks you, sending fear into your very soul. killing you instantaneously (see 2:06 for reference)
Difficult to explain the influence this band has had on me. They expressed me. They were my age. I mean, I was born in 1964, Johnny Marr in 1963, Mike and Andy in 64, and I feel so BLESSED to have been aware enough to recognize this at that time, especially as an American 20-year-old back then, when people thought there was something wrong with you for appreciating this music. I am telling you, Morrisey's lyrics significantly expressed my mindset. I know their music is now universal, but one would have had to have been of the age at the time to realize how significant it was. No one else was expressing themselves that way. They set a standard. The Smiths were one of a kind and unique and brilliant. Thank God I got to see them once at Tulane McAlister Auditorium (college in New Orleans) in 1986 for the Queen Is Dead Tour. I am blessed!
Taps aff. The Smiths completely went against convention, hence the name, but luckily had the best lyrcist and guitarist in the world at that time. Genius band and every song is amazing.
@@bryankinney1 dude johnny marrs melodies are unmatched. Charming man, some girls are bigger than others, what difference does it make, bigmouth strikes again, girl afraid. Marr had multiple guitars going and created something new everytime
FUCKIN FANTASTIC SMITHS MAN!! EVERY CONCERT THE CROWD ARE FUCKIN MENTAL ,IM GOING TO SEE MORRISSEY IN 2 WEEKS,SADLY IT WONT BE THIS YOUNG CHARMING MAN ANYMORE BUT HE,S STILL AWSOME AS EVER, NOT BAD FOR AN OLD MAN WITH CANCER,MOZZA IS A LEGEND ,LOVE U MAN ,THANK U FOR ALL THESE GREAT MOMENTS I PLAY ON U TUBE DAILY, BIGMOUTH 4 EVER
I absolutely love how Mike brings the drums into this song!! This could easily be my only workout song haha and you can see that the energy was transmitted by Johnny jumping at the end right on the last chord at 4:30. Literally best band ever
It has to be a line out from the board mixed with the crowd sounds, the audio is just too good. There is no way this is off some random camera's mic, even a commercial one, from the 80s.
It's an absolute shame that they couldn't keep it together. I mean their productive life was like what, four years? They could have been the biggest band in the world if they kept at it. They literally had all the elements of the Beatles or U2
the smiths were loved all over the world and deservedly so, 5 years of my lifetime that this band will live with me till I die, , i was 20 in 1986 and im 52 today and off to see Mozza in castlefield Manchester July 7th 2018,YYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Green Morrissey doesn't exist, he can't hurt you".
Green Morrissey:

I'm glad you feel that way for me, I would feel blessed too but I was born too late :')
Johnny Marr guitar riffs are wonderful on this!
Joe McArdle he doesn’t play riffs
His playing is wonderful on everything he does...

BEST BAND STRIKES AGAIN
A primeira vez que ouvi essa música, eu não consegui tirá-la da cabeça; ouvi por 2 horas seguidas.
I've loved the Rank album for years and now discovering that someone was there with a camera is amazing.
You just need twoo seconds of the guitar to realize this song is huge
Was never into them in the 80s. Not hatred just not drawn to their sound. Started listening in the mid 00s. This live version is great. Such energy!
I could burst into tears!
I don't have enough words to describe how much I love this man. Morrisey
Favorite version of this song

Yeah!!!
Yeah!! Yeah!!!.....

Absolutely. Can't play it enough
Indudablemente la mejor versión de este tema. Increíble que sea en directo.
Putos amos, Rank es el mejor disco de un directo que he escuchado en mi vida.

Johnny's fingers music to my ears & nice ending; splits!
El bocazas ataca de nuevo. La mejor version . Grandes
Morrisey a talented musician with antics and a passion for his work.

Johny guitar is amazing!!
Fuck me this is glorious. The sound is astonishing for a random in the audience.
It has to be a line out from the board mixed with the crowd sounds, the audio is just too good. There is no way this is off some random camera's mic, even a commercial one, from the 80s.
It’s the audio from the album “Rank” I think - think this was the live performance for it though
Se desse para voltar no tempo,oh tempo bom demais ,gente The Smiths sempre fã
A melhor versão. Não há dúvida.
My favorite on this LP With the draize train
Draize Train is awesome on Rank!
El mejor grupo de la Historia con el mejor músico de la Historia, Morrisey en estado puro.

Alejandro Ramírez estás completamente loco jajaja
Bellissimo!!!
grandissimi The Smiths
THE SMITHS WERE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!
I'm totally impressed you got such amazing sound. Clear, not distorted at all.
The sound is from the official release "Rank", the video I presume is from a bootleg audience source.
You can find this version in Spotify, the sound is just overlapped
The 2 guitars made such a difference to the live sound
What 2 guitars
There’s 1 live and 1 in studio version
There ain’t 2 guitars
There is one bass
One singer
On guitar
On drum kit
@@JJStale there's two guitarist, when the smiths went on tour for the queen is dead. The second guitarist is Craig Gannon
@@JJStale You're blind, there's johnny and another guitar player lol.

At their best
Marr looks like he’s ready to play football with those shoulder pads on. Aaaaah, gotta love the 80s.

La voz de Moz es incomparable y los riffs de Marr son insuperables. The Smiths, la mejor banda que existió nunca jamás .

Rank might be The Smiths’ greatest album.
Juan J. Betancourt-García
At its time it was long overdue-Live Smiths
