    Great video! Anyone know the labor time in the book?

    What is crazy is that Chevy/GM knows that this engine has water pump issues and does not recall everybody’s vehicle and replace that bolt. There are a lot of people that are replacing that bolt with the original bolt a lot of ASE certified mechanics and they are breaking off the bolt inside the engine because it is a “one time use” bolt and is too short

    I’m finding it very difficult to get the hose clamp back where it needs to go on the hose leading into the water pump… :(

    I love how detailed your videos are. Would you be interested in making one on how to best clean the throttle body on a 1.4L Ecotec (without removing it from the intake manifold)? I suppose that some scan tools could command it to open, but turning the key to the accessory position and depressing the gas pedal only causes the butterfly to open part way. I tried cleaning mine, but I don't think that I did the best job. Figured you may have some suggestions for getting it as clean as possible. The bottom edge of the butterfly, and around the pivot points, are areas that are hard to get at.

    could there be a coolant leak from something located lower than the water pump in that same area just lower? On mine the leak looks lower

      On this particular size and model GM engine, there's nothing _lower_ than the pump involving coolant on this side. Just be sure what you're looking at is coolant, and not oil. If so, what you likely have is the leak traveling downwards from the pump gasket side obscuring you from a more conclusive view.

      The service bulletin pages I showed applies only to the years I listed on it as far as the extra torque to yield bolts. And only to the engine RPO codes listed in the video description. GM made more than one 1.4L size engine, and they are not the same so the RPO codes are important to take note of.

    Even the OEM thermostat housing and coolant manifold (left side of motor) have failed repeatedly. I am now using an aftermarket aluminum thermostat and manifold.

    Why not open the pit cok on radiator to avoid all thatcoolant to go all over alternator.🤷

      @DrShock  7 месяцев назад +2

      Plastic petcocks on older vehicles more often than not break off, creating a larger job is primarily why. Genuine GM Dexcool coolant will not harm the alternator, or any of the other components in this engine area. Just keep the coolant off the rubber serpentine belt. Rinse off the residue with distilled water before reinstalling if it concerns you.

    That factory coolant junk use green coolant engineered to last took thermstat out so run cooler you wont have issues like remove top heat sheild off turbo be sure turbo oil line has thremal wrap on runs under headers remove cover off front air cooler stick screw driver open air holes in lower air cooler for tubo helps stay cooler as plastic and seals will fail and use same bolts have had no issues just have to be moter head think like engineer but new bolts strech next time just be hold better i know work better as dont strech and come loose again this why have problems as engineered skam so have to get service again as feel must be idiots out there

      Do these up dates include 2015 for the torque to yield on all of the bolts. I have 2015 Buick Encore ?
