Apple Care Plus is a Joke of an Insurance Policy

- I had a customer come in asking me to fix an iphone 15 Pro Max that fell from a 2nd story and cracked the screen, back glass and a slight dint of the frame.
He had apple care plus, which after he sent it in under this insurance policy apple sent it back saying it wasn't covered cause it was "excessively damaged"

Hey! I am not sure if this will make a difference, but booking a Genius Bar appointment at Apple and actually going in person to submit the phone repair may be better. Recently my brother fell off a bike and absolutely cracked his front screen badly. His top left frame was also slightly dented, but not bent. We had Apple Care+ so we booked an appointment, payed $49+tax and then had the phone screen replaced on the same day. Even if the frame is slightly dented they fixed the display. Weird that Apple rejected. The AC+ should cover all the accidental damages and if the damage is excessive you pay $149 and receive and new one. (from my knowledge)
This is a tech not doing their job properly. AC+ will absolutely cover this as no major parts are missing. Even if the top frame piece was detached but still present it would get covered. What happened to this customer is not Apple's policy. You sure he didn't decline a deductible price increase due to it not being screen + back glass?

then was denied and sent back to him
@@rickstechrepairs when the frame is dented Apple wants to replace the whole phone WUR (whole unit replacement) and there is usually a slightly higher deductible because of that. 99 USD instead of 58 USD.
I had my iPhone 13 Pro Max completely smashed from the back to front and I went to the Apple Store ( U.S.) it was $85 to get a new one ! Fast forward to now I have the 15 Pro Max with Apple care and the same coverage applies.

What you're saying doesn't make sense. Excessive damage can still be accidental? I've never had ANY issues with AppleCare+. I would recommend for most Apple products that have a higher chance of getting damaged.
I know it doesn't make sense, that's why I was outraged on my customers behalf..

My 2023 Macbook Pro with AppleCare+ saved me. My screen was completely screwed and I didn’t have to pay a deductible, they sent me a box, I put it in the box, they sent it back that same week with a brand new screen and full battery. No cost to me, expedited shipping. And I’ve seen replacements upwards of $800

hey mate, i live in india, i just bought an iphone 15 plus, black colour base model and the i noticed that the flash light was pink, so i contact my nearest authorized retailer, and they replaced a lot of stuff, but it did not fix the issue, then 1 day after i went to the official apple store in BKC Mumbai and they took my phone, they said we will look into it, they replaced the back glass and gave it to me, but again nothing changed, then they even went as far as replacing the entire phone and even then, the flash was pink and then they said there is nothing more they can do, and i had to go empty handed. with no resolution of my issue.
do you have any suggestions.

that is bizarre, is it a case you have the covers over the flash or something weird like that
@@rickstechrepairs mate, no, my phone is literally 2 days old now. as they replaced it and it still frakin pink, allbeit a little less, but visibly pink and cause of that my photos are tinted with pink. i cant keep editing all my photos. and i am not dark skinned so it does even hide it, it just shows. called apple support today, they are gonna check it one last time and then they will take it to the main team or something like that. in any case. still got any suggestions? am i being dumb somehow i dont know? cause i have eliminated every possibility i know of
how about not buying any insurance, instead, have a good habit and not to drop your phone? I have my iphone for 3 years now. do no use any case to protect it. still good as new.
