Even as early as 1991 when China was still very poor, I met a Japanese uni student girl who told me that Dali was the most beautiful tourist attraction in China 😂
Imho, I think Lijiang has more scenic natural beautiful village ambience. The canals the lined nearly every small street, in the village gives it a vibe that is only found there. I stayed there for 7 days, and the night scene is like a quiet and relaxed fairyland. Every bar and restaurant there is so laid-back, and peaceful, esp. when it is one storey up from the pedestrian walkway, overlooking the plaza-like square the is at the centre of the radially spread out walkways/tiny streets.

Erhai Lake is the most famous place in Dali. Didn't you go for a visit? Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang is also a must-see place. Thanks for sharing!!!
14:46 he said三分钟means "three minutes" , not seven minutes. Like your video! You're so brave to try lots of different things. Hope you have a good time here!
Tea eggs are different than 1000 year eggs which are the ones with blue yolks. Tea eggs are just hard boiled eggs flavored with tea, soy sauce, star anise and other spices. They have normal yellow yolks and are super tasty.
What a good video, really takes me back to my trip to Yunnan in 2018. Dali is such a chill and amazing place, and their coffee beans are just brilliant. Stay safe and have fun, and keep the vids coming for us folks in Scotland!
Daisy and I welcome you to Dali, Yunnan. You have brought us a lot of happiness. If you have the opportunity to come to Dali again, remember to come to Xianzijiao Bar(仙子脚). Our bar is your home in Dali. I wish you a smooth journey.
Watching you go from being a bit lost when you first arrived in China to now fully enjoying life here, experiencing the kindness of strangers on the streets, and savoring authentic local food, I can't help but shed tears. The more extreme the Western media's portrayal of China, the stronger the sense of contrast felt by every visitor who has experienced the kindness of the Chinese people firsthand. I am a Chinese student pursuing a master's degree in Italy. When I see how deeply many Europeans misunderstand China, I don't feel sad for China-I feel sad for these Europeans. Accepting everything in the Western media without critical thought-isn't that a form of brainwashing too? The Western world often mocks China's lack of freedom, but the fact is: when I want to learn about the world in China, I just press the VPN button on my phone. However, for Europeans to truly understand China, it’s not that simple. They need to overcome the thick wall of prejudice instilled by their media. This isn't something that can be resolved by just pressing a VPN button.Who is more pitiable?
i study in Germany now, and everytime when people ask me about sterotypes about China, i just need to ask them back "do you really believe all things in your media?", then, interesting, most people are slient immediatly🤔
I remember tourism in Dali took a big hit during the COVID years, and it's great to see it bouncing back with its usual dynamism and vibrancy now that everything is returning to normal. The local businesses, cultural sites, and natural beauty of Dali are once again thriving, drawing visitors from all over. Anyway, enjoy your time in Dali, immerse yourselves in its rich culture, and have a wonderful experience there.
i spent 3years come and go during the covid in dali and lijiang with less tourist cheap accommodation😂😂😂 i would say yunnan is one. Of the best place on earth.
You guys have finally found the essence of travelling in China as youth! Had to tell you, this kind of life can be endless if you dare to wander around China further.😅
Man I never thought a random tour video can hit me so much! I miss every piece you showed in this video! Such a nice and real life you presented😢. Yunnan is in its one of best seasons for poisoned and local only mushrooms. I can detail you if needed!
I just went to Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La in April! This video brings back those wonderful memories... Thank you for uploading! Also, the Tiger Leaping Gorge hike was super amazing and memorable for me, you can check it out if you're up for some hiking!
China is beautiful, friendly people, very affordable, excellent transportation systems, amazing foods, many places dating back 800 years or more to experience, and the best of all ...China is safe! I have visited China in many occasions and I cannot wait to visit again.
10:50 When Alan said 9 quid a night I had some not-so-pleasant flashbacks from your last trip to Wuhan...Glad it turned out to be much much better :D 11:58 What now?? Even better? Best vlog in china for you guys yet I must say! Lot of fun and we can all feel your energy in this one :D
Have you been to Lijiang? If not, you should go to Lijiang too. It's near Dali where you are now. There are many shops there and the night life is fantastic. The whole town is lighted up at night. The roads are constructed like a maze.
What a small world! I stayed at the same hotel as you when I was on my high school graduation trip with my best friends. Such great memories from that time!
You were in Dali for 2 weeks but only made one video, I just couldn't get enough of it. Too bad didn't see you introduce the scenery along the way around Er Hai Lake, which is synonymous with Dali.
Back in UK, you cant even buy 2 ice-cream and two chewing gums for 7 quids. You need 9 quids and no cash but cards only.. ..That caused a great stir in yiutube world when one of the cute girl of twins was complaining about inflation.
Wow…videos can never capture the full essence of what you experience yet I felt unique vibes of this place. I am very convinced to visit Dali! Thank you for showing us your experience ❤❤
Keep exploring Yunnan, after Lijiang you will reach Shangri-la, Tibetan vibe area with amazing snow mountains and landscape and unique Tibetan culture. Yunnan is one of the best travel destinations in the world IMO
Yunnan is such a unique and diversified place. Beyond Dali and Lijiang, Xishuangbanna, Shangrila and Tengchong are also very very interesting place to visit
highly recommend Yangshuo, Fenghuang ancient town, Furong ancient town, and Jiuzhaigou. All are small towns but with a lot amazing natural landscape and traditonal ethnic cultures.
If you two are the cheese person you should try dali goat cheese like the one in UK or fried them also pretty good , remember its the goat cheese not the rushan coat cheese sell on the street , buy them in local shop
Wow is this a whole month of Yunnan in 1 video? This is not enough!! Would love to see how those 3 weeks in Xishuangbanna has been and more from the 2 weeks in Dali. And have you not go to Erhai and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain??? Those are the must visited place in these areas. Well I guess if you missed them, there's you excuse to come back again another time!!
Before u head to lijiang Have u guys been to the great lakes of kunming especially FUXIAN lake I highly recommend that place the best in my opinion 💎💎💎
LiJiang is better than DaLi and it’s also in Yunnan. You guys should also hike Tigers Leap and take a trip to Jade Dragon mountain. Suzhou is very beautiful as well it’s like Chinese Venice
omg, I felt familiar seeing your hotel, then I checked my photo album and it turns out that was the hotel where I stayed 11 years ago when I visited DALI, I almost forgot that....
China is a travellers paradise that safe, clean and beautiful with lots delicious.
And affordable
And of cultural diversity.
But you definitely need to avoid the public holidays when everything costs like that three times more expensive !
