But don't underestimate that they don't have a point, this thing from something other to white happened in the Past a lot and was considered a normal occurring thing. But they ignore the difference to today that people back then did not care about the Political implications and they did in the past cause the most famous for curtain roles where primarily white. Also way back then white washing around the beginning of the 19th was a at its peak but back at that time racism also had some effects (but also psychologically Studies found out that people prefer to see people similar to them, makes the emphatic things way easier. Which was only observed at the box office which also was an important point already back then).

Seems like every few days now I'm getting a recommendation for some new video about Zegler reacting to an old South Park episode. I just click on these now to downvote them.

Both can be true. She can be a great snow-white and having a twist to fairytales can work really well. While on the other hand it can become to gimmicky especially when message feel shoehorned in.
Mulan is a good example. In the first the character is driven by love for here family and has to use intelligence and perseverance to overcome to make it in a unfair system. In the second one she has to use magic to overcome the unfair system.
Its the difference between a good story that happens to be about girl power, or a girl power message they wright a story around.
Rachel Zegler is not the problem, she is in the crossfire in a larger trend.
When she chose to not take the role and money and just mind her own. She is no longer just in the cross fire she hopped into the firing line willingly.

@@richardbusta8899 I don't think that is completely fair. I can't image how it is to have the internet go wild on you, but I am sure it cant be good for someone. Sure, looking from the outside she could have handled things better, but that was after there was already a wave of foul comments about her.
If you try to walk a mile in her shoes try to image the comments she had read about herself and her role before she made those comments.
