Okay, I was skeptical at the voice when I first started watching this upload as I have no clue who this person is but I’m good! I absolutely loved this upload. He hit everything spot on, every single word, so thank you so very much @JUST A ROBOT I am now 50, One of my oldest memories when I was but a wee girl, we would rush whatever we were doing to get done to plunk ourselves in front of the tv for Disney on Sunday evenings, it was the happiest and most peaceful times I could get with my mother who happened to be my entire world! My mother died when she was 38, she was like Snow White, she was feminine to her core, she helped so many and gave even when she didn’t have it. All she ever dreamed of was a stable home, with a man and children that she could cherish, dote on, love with every fibre of her being. Instead she got abused, used and thrown around, she never lost her will to give her all for those in need, we were poor as dirt but mom made sure we ate, had a home, tried to shelter us from the worst. She was a simple woman, never wanted more than just to be able to live a fair life, she never dreamed of riches, not even the middle of middle class, just the bottom tier, however she made this generation better than she or her mother had and I made my daughters a generations better than I had. I will be forever grateful to have known such a wonderful, selfless, loving human being my life. The good thing is, she instilled every one of those core values in me and I suppose I am my mother’s daughter, I struggled being young and abandoned when she died but I never stopped hoping, caring, yearning for the same my mother did and when I had my daughters I saw the reality of my own actions, repeating her actions, so I took accountability, I stopped the cycles of abuse and they have never experienced it, they know what they didn’t experience so that they don’t start the cycle again with their partners, children and future family members. This movie has always and will always hold a place so close to my heart, a dream, a dream like no other that may or may not come true, it may be a called fairytales but never stop believing as they do often come true Gave ya a like, like always, even if sometimes I don’t agree 100% with you as I know the same could be said about my opinions 👍👍

I have no idea who Zaid is, but I will say that one positive here is that he managed to keep my attention throughout the entire video and was *very* focused on the topic at hand. This was a W move for sure.
Prince Charming looks over a wall to see a pretty girl singing, then decides to approach her with his own song. How does this transulate to stalking? The evil queen and huntsman are the only characters that did any stalking. I guess SW won't be revived by Charming's kiss this time around.
I think it is useless to give that much attention to one narrow minded and insufferable individual's words just because she got to play snow white. Honestly speaking considering the clips from teaser this Zegler women seems completely devoid of poise, innocence and elegance which snow white is known for and looks more cunning and irritating.

The story is about not letting bad situations ruin your good nature & character. Snow White had loads of reasons to be angry, to want revenge, to get back at the queen. Grumpy doesnt like her at first and she could have been like "well fine, screw you then" but no, she baked him a pie, she keeps the house tidy as a thank you/please gift, Snow White is kind to everyone, THAT'S what made her th fairest as well as her beauty. This movie was made after WW1 where many of the team behind it may very well have been drafted soldiers. This movie & snow white is a message of hope for the survivors of the war to keep their heads up and not let the bad situations define you! Be a thermostat, not a thermometer. Greta Gerwig wrote the script. Cannot expect her to know what a love story is. I have not seen it because the movie sounds DISGUSTING but from it sounds like, Barbie is a breakup movie. In parts anyway.
"Fairest of them all" meant "Most beautiful of them all" in the original story. The queen was a narcissist obsessed with her own looks. It was all about physical beauty. "Fairest" had nothing to with how you treat people.
in the original movie, the prince is basically a deus ex machina and snow white is basically a catalyst device. the real main characters are the seven dwarves and the relationship that develops between them and this domestic interloper. there's actually a beautiful message about found family and hard work and the power of kindness that could have been adapted from the original movie. but I have a feeling that's not going to be the story we see in theaters when the Zegler production finally comes out, and that's what's saddest of all to me: it could have been great.
They did remake fairly recently not by Disney I dont think. I heard the film was terrible. The fairy god mother was camp black man and the prince gave up being a prince so he could marry Cinderella. At the end she set up her own business making dresses for living!
Now that I think about it, Snow White really is the female equivalent of Clark Kent; kind, hopeful, strong willed and always willing to help others because it's the right thing to do
I don't understand the hate on her. I keep feeling like the stereotypical idea of a "strong woman" negates the ones who ARE strong through femininity and kindness. Yes, she had to be saved, but she's more than proven her salt before that. Who would keep a consistent smile on their face after your own STEPMOM attempts to off you? Strong women who fight are valid, but so are women who fight with kindness or battling internal foes as opposed to physical foes. Both are strong, and shouldn't invalidate one or the other. Snow White is on level as Cinderella, Belle or Elsa and Anna, just in a different way.
I really never liked any of these Disney stories, they glorify being retarded, while on the original stories most of these protagonists meet and horrible end, usually death. If you reward them for their foolishness, the story lose any sense and any moral. Usually the villain is bad because "yes", while there used to be a reason behind it. Disney always liked censorship, they just changed politic party (or maybe not, since I can't really see being fool as a right value, but I absolutely can see it as a leftist value).

I lost it at “When Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep had a better understanding of Snow White than you.” Really shows how they’re devolving from their original work and source, when a video game grasps it better than the actors and company itself.
Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite game franchises, it has writers who truly grasp the nostalgia, heart, and spirit of Disney and they’ve even made me very emotional at times. A lot of emotion was put into the making of KH ❤
What's disappointing is they seem to wanna give Snow White masculine traits and a story mostly men get. And that's not who Snow White is, they should've capitalized off of her femininity. Her having some late father about being fearless, fair, brave, and true is so typical, it's just annoying to give her this superhero story. They need to not go against the criticism, they should instead focus on trying to show the purpose of Snow White's character and letting her true self to shine through. Agreed. Once someone pointed it out to me, it now irks me they ended Enchanted with Giselle acting out the role of Prince Philip in attacking Narissa with a sword... when most of the Disney heroes and heroines used WIT to outthink their villains.
Snow White was a movie I grew up with as a kid, but it wasn’t until I grew up that I realized why it was so special: Snow White goes through a difficult time, but she never victimizes herself. She is almost always positive, and is always kind and hardworking. They emphasize these things more than love and beauty in the movie. The seven dwarves are similarly resilient, as you never see them complain about work or that society probably treats them different. Kind of pisses me off that that arrogant actress would have such disdain for such a beautiful message.
What's sad is that when snow white was made it was during the depression and war. So having something so simple back then, was needed because people wanted a good life and in the area they can relate to snow white herself. And have Disney destroy that is disgusting and shameful.
I think that is much more needed right now. Especially in the world where Superman of all people is getting corrupted off his ideals. Something as simple as that would be loved today.
To nitpick some details, the original Brothers Grimm fairytale is called "Snow White". The marketing team wasn't thinking about that, but just to let people know. The reason why actors with dwarfism were not cast is because Peter Dinkledge was offended by the mere notion of dwarfs being cast in this movie (despite his popularity). Funny enough, it was for him to have control over him being cast into stuff without any competitors. People with dwarfism called him out on his BS, so that was good.

The Prince does not have a confirmed age; he was only described as a young man(which means he’s a minor also). When trying to draw him, they use a 18 yr old as a reference. So, the Prince is in the range of 14 -18. Plus, he does not even look remotely like a full grown adult.

I want to give a few fun facts about the original Snow White. This is the FIRST animated colored movie. It was the first full length movie that was animated. Disney started a company that is still beloved to this day. In 1937, it had a budget of $1.5 million which translates to $32,764,583.33 today. It made $8 million in the box office which translates to $174,744,444.44 today. This movie made so much money DURING the Great Depression might I add. Disney has fallen so far from what they have achieved. While the OG movie put Walt on the map, this movie will remove them from it.

I just watched the little sneak peek somebody recorded in the theater of the scene where SHE should be cleaning the cottage... What a brat. In the original after she knew that her stepmother was trying to kill her she got the heck out of there. THAT'S BRAINS for a 14 year old. There was no prince throughout most of the original movie it was the beginning that introduced them and ending that saved her but he was coming there to say goodbye cause he thought she was dead just like the dwarves. Also THEY ACTUALLY KNEW EACH OTHER AND THE QUEEN HID HER AWAY FROM HIM. That part is in the original book.
Too bad modern Disney is so greedy that desecrating all that was good about the originals seems more profitable than truly adapting them for modern audiences.
Also there was an old Snow White comic by Disney that gave the price a few extra scenes. The reason the Prince was barely in the original movie was because he was hard to animate at the time.
I recall hearing news from early in the production of the new Snow White that the set had caught fire and burned down. Combine that with every other disaster this production has faced and it really feels like Walt himself is cursing this movie from the grave
NGL if a part of my studio randomly burned while making a movie I would’ve pulled the plug and just not ware any more money on this and do something else with said money and production, but this company is too far gone that they can’t see the big red flags: to all the reshoots, the burned production set, the many changes of dwarves (which alone like BRUH), the much unneeded things Zagler said cause she can’t learn to keep her mouth shut and how this movie THINKS this is what people wanted. It’s just pure chaos and waste of time and energy put into this already unneeded movie. Just a waste and in a way this (and other movies) give an idea of what this company has become and isn’t afraid to throw its classics, let alone the FIRST movie that made this company to even begin with as some cheap nostalgic bait to those who don’t know any of this or are still in denial that this is the same company they grew up with.
The sad thing is, she actually could have been portrayed as EMOTIONALLY deep and complex. Maybe not as physically active as future princesses, but her story can easily have an emotional impact, Like Pixar movies do. Maybe having her story with the dwarfs be a way for healing from her own insecurities about not being worthy of love. Let the frightening Forest scene be illusions from her mind, leaving her with a panic attack and only being able to calm down by singing a song that lures in the woodland creatures to calm her down. Let the dwarfs teach her to express self-love & self-confidence. Have the stories she tells them be actual flashbacks of her memories with the prince growing up. Turn their relationship from the house maid to a Father-daughter trope. Maybe go by the OG book version by letting all three death attempts from the queen be a way to break down her confidence and break her heart so that the poison apple spell will be complete. The Apple could only work on those with no confidence and heartbreak. Let her death be more tragic by letting her die thinking the dwarfs hated her. Let her last chance of defiance against the queen be Snow White saying she's wrong and dying with a smile on her face. BADASS! & then the Evil Queen taunts the dwarfs about Snow White not thinking she was loved before death, making defeating the evil queen way more satisfying. THIS AIN'T THAT HARD DISNEY!!!
At this point, they should just cancel it. Sure, they'd lose a bit more money than if they released it, but they would spare themselves the humiliation.
another thing. the dwarves were rich. They worked in a mine, mining for precious gemstones to sell to make money. They were loaded, gems are highly favored during that time and the dangerous work conditions miners went through to get them made them even more expensive. So just look at how much money 7 of these guys were making and choosing to live the quiet life in a cottage near their job
I 100% agree with your statement about Snow White’s lack of complexity. She doesn’t need to be because the whole part of Snow White’s character is her kindness, selflessness, motherly nature and wanting nothing more than to make people happy. All these traits are what make her more human. People love to glamourise the idea that being nasty and a bitch gives you success, respect and power, but I’d argue the opposite is the case. Being kind, selfless and caring and showing determination even in the worst of times is a true hero, not some feminist who craves being a girl boss.
Can we also talk about Snow White’s princess dress? It was so pretty in the animated movie, but this is literally one of the ugliest dresses I’ve ever seen. That blue and that yellow do not go together, and those long sleeves make it look like a cheap spirit Halloween costume
It’s also to high up makes her body proportion look of, the top part should have been lower. They also added to much to the top part when in the animated version it was simple design. The bottom I don’t think anyone needs to explain.
The funny part is it is blue and *cream* with gold highlights at the edge of the sleeves and up the middle of the bodice , not blue and yellow. Aging prints made the cream start to yellow.

The thing i'm mostly mad about aswell is that They removed her iconic bow. Her dress is ugly and overdesigned terribly, And the bow is gone. The only thing that made Snow White's design appealing and iconic is how simple it was. Poofy sleeves, A blue top, A yellow skirt and the bow. That was all that was needed to make this movie slightly better, Heck! Even just removing Rachel Zeigler and it would be 90million times better!!!

You're damn right they don't understand the movie and it's a travesty. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was released during a dark time, not only for the Disney company, but in US history and Snow White was meant to represent someone who was going through a horrible time but was kind and strong enough to keep their head up high and push through it. It's the entire reason the movie took off the way it did. Well, that and it being a form of escapism then nation desperately needed. Snow White is the strongest Disney Princess because of this. She was an icon of the people of that time. No matter how dark it gets, if you keep yourself from falling into that darkness and feeling sorry for yourself and kept perservering with kindness, it'll get brighter. Her wish of having a true love/prince charming and a happily ever after is a symbol of what people want: happiness, love, and peace, the very thing the world craved at the time.

I just hate Rachel Zegler for saying "that's not what we wrote/did this time". Did she have any writing credit on the movie? If so, I will not watch it just due to this. Why not let a real writer explain the story or the new beats they introduced? Why have Rachel herself claim to have "written" something? She is just awful. I am so tired of actors talking bigly about themselves and whatever awesome their employer did. No, why not have real independent journalists? I don't believe any corporate crap.
08:14 THIS MOMENT RIGHT HERE is exactly why Snow White's funeral is sooooo damn gut-wrenching! Grumpy exhibited extensive disdain towards Snow White upon their first interaction and even challenges her ideology and authority at various points before her unfortunate encounter with the Evil Queen disguised as a hag. Nevertheless, Snow White kept true to her assured belief that Grumpy would [eventually] grow fond of her one day, even going as far as to bake him a Gooseberry Pie out of genuine benevolence. So....when the funeral scene plays out, and Grumpy can no longer contain his anguish over the loss of Snow White....it packs such a sentimental punch towards the viewer. I have concerns that the remake will not embody any significant moments like that of its predecessor.
And if may I add, the Prince wasn’t made to be bland on purpose, it was the fact that Disney and his team ran out of time to make the scenes they originally wanted to make with the Prince, and the fact they didn’t know how to animate male characters at the time.
This movie makes "Snow White and the Huntsman" seem more realistic on the "fairest of them all" subject. At least Kristen Stewart's Snow White had a kind and pure personality. I don't see that in Rachel's Snow White
I hate how they tried to not only erase how strong Snow White was, but also push the idea that this 14 year old girl who was on the run after being forced to run away from her home lest she be murdered in cold blood, who had no support or resources other than the skills she learned when she was forced to be a scullary maid in her own home, HAD to be a leader. The description of the original Snow white and the seven dwarves is great. I love it for its historical importance not just in the amazing feat of its production but the importance it had culturally for those who survived WWI, were at the tail end of the great depression and dust bowl, and just then seeing rising tensions in Europe and Asia. Hope for the future and a positive attitude was a rarity and people needed a beacon of joy, kindness, and endurance through tough situations. They needed Snow White. Its my favorite movie for all those reasons.
I love Snow White. I love her kindness, selflessness, thoughtfulness and perseverance. I really enjoy the influence from Silly Symphonies that the movie has. It’s a sweet, charming fairytale. I love to watch it when I’m stressed out.
I have been defending Snow White since the 2000s. People have always shit on her and Cinderella but both of them, but especially Snow White, are genuinely some of the kindest, positive characters in the face of hardship. I loved Snow White as a kid. Shes not my favourite Disney girl, but everytime i rewatched that movie, i would go on and on about how awesome she is. She is seriously such a brave and tough little lady, and she just never gets the credit because she always focuses her energy on being proactive and kind to others instead of whining about how hard her life is. People have been shitting on her for decades and she never deserved it.

Disney doesn’t understand Snow White, forget about Zegler. This original movie was what launched the Disney Studios. The importance of this movie is represented on the facade of the Disney Headquarters Building whereby the dwarfs are the seven pillars holding up the friggin roof. Can’t get better than that.
This whole thing really made me appreciate the old classic way more than I already do. I've always loved it as a kid, and I still do today. What bothers me so much is the Evil Queen being Hotter and Prettier and having better personality than Snow White. It really does defeat the purpose of the plot.
It's very sad really. I love Disney even now, but they hire actors and creators who don't understand the source material or worse yet, don't even like it which is the worst mistake you can make when creating a film/show. Plus, it needs to stop these live actions remakes. We already have a Snow White, Cinderella, Bambi, Dumbo and all that. We need need another one. The 101 Dalmatians live action remake starring Glenn Close was the blue moon not the standard. It was a also a gamble not a guarantee.
The 2012 Mirror mirror did what they were trying to do now to make her be a leader, but they actually succeeded without losing what makes snow white, snow white. They also set the point that she is the rightful heir, but she doesn't think she is strong or confident enough. That changes when she is prompted to visit her kingdom and sees how her people are suffering. She makes an attempt to make an alliance with the prince so she can take her kingdom back. When she is chaced and finds the dwarves they teach her how to be confident in herself and her abilities, but she never loses her kindness and selflessness. She actually cares for the dwarves and is grateful to them for allowing her to stay, and they become friends. In the end, she gets married to the prince, but it doesn't take away from her character development. Not to mention that the movie cast actors with dwarfism. Lily collins made a wonderful job as snow white. The movie is by no means flawless, and the badget is not very high, so the world feels a little lackluster, but otherwise, i enjoyed very much and the movies strongest point is snow White's character.

Disney's animation these days are a disgrace. With CGI they can't even make the backgrounds of modern animation look better compared to this 1937 legend that are hand-drawn and hand-painted. Just look at the butter-smooth transition of the motions of the characters. Many still frames of the character needs to be created in order to make the motion that smooth.

Okay, I was skeptical at the voice when I first started watching this upload as I have no clue who this person is but I’m good! I absolutely loved this upload. He hit everything spot on, every single word, so thank you so very much @JUST A ROBOT
I am now 50, One of my oldest memories when I was but a wee girl, we would rush whatever we were doing to get done to plunk ourselves in front of the tv for Disney on Sunday evenings, it was the happiest and most peaceful times I could get with my mother who happened to be my entire world!
My mother died when she was 38, she was like Snow White, she was feminine to her core, she helped so many and gave even when she didn’t have it. All she ever dreamed of was a stable home, with a man and children that she could cherish, dote on, love with every fibre of her being. Instead she got abused, used and thrown around, she never lost her will to give her all for those in need, we were poor as dirt but mom made sure we ate, had a home, tried to shelter us from the worst. She was a simple woman, never wanted more than just to be able to live a fair life, she never dreamed of riches, not even the middle of middle class, just the bottom tier, however she made this generation better than she or her mother had and I made my daughters a generations better than I had. I will be forever grateful to have known such a wonderful, selfless, loving human being my life.
The good thing is, she instilled every one of those core values in me and I suppose I am my mother’s daughter, I struggled being young and abandoned when she died but I never stopped hoping, caring, yearning for the same my mother did and when I had my daughters I saw the reality of my own actions, repeating her actions, so I took accountability, I stopped the cycles of abuse and they have never experienced it, they know what they didn’t experience so that they don’t start the cycle again with their partners, children and future family members.
This movie has always and will always hold a place so close to my heart, a dream, a dream like no other that may or may not come true, it may be a called fairytales but never stop believing as they do often come true

Grumpy doesnt like her at first and she could have been like "well fine, screw you then" but no, she baked him a pie, she keeps the house tidy as a thank you/please gift, Snow White is kind to everyone, THAT'S what made her th fairest as well as her beauty.
This movie was made after WW1 where many of the team behind it may very well have been drafted soldiers. This movie & snow white is a message of hope for the survivors of the war to keep their heads up and not let the bad situations define you!

"Fairest of them all" meant "Most beautiful of them all" in the original story. The queen was a narcissist obsessed with her own looks. It was all about physical beauty. "Fairest" had nothing to with how you treat people.
in the original movie, the prince is basically a deus ex machina and snow white is basically a catalyst device. the real main characters are the seven dwarves and the relationship that develops between them and this domestic interloper.
there's actually a beautiful message about found family and hard work and the power of kindness that could have been adapted from the original movie. but I have a feeling that's not going to be the story we see in theaters when the Zegler production finally comes out, and that's what's saddest of all to me:

They did remake fairly recently not by Disney I dont think. I heard the film was terrible. The fairy god mother was camp black man and the prince gave up being a prince so he could marry Cinderella. At the end she set up her own business making dresses for living!

I don't understand the hate on her. I keep feeling like the stereotypical idea of a "strong woman" negates the ones who ARE strong through femininity and kindness. Yes, she had to be saved, but she's more than proven her salt before that. Who would keep a consistent smile on their face after your own STEPMOM attempts to off you? Strong women who fight are valid, but so are women who fight with kindness or battling internal foes as opposed to physical foes. Both are strong, and shouldn't invalidate one or the other. Snow White is on level as Cinderella, Belle or Elsa and Anna, just in a different way.
I really never liked any of these Disney stories, they glorify being retarded, while on the original stories most of these protagonists meet and horrible end, usually death. If you reward them for their foolishness, the story lose any sense and any moral. Usually the villain is bad because "yes", while there used to be a reason behind it. Disney always liked censorship, they just changed politic party (or maybe not, since I can't really see being fool as a right value, but I absolutely can see it as a leftist value).

Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite game franchises, it has writers who truly grasp the nostalgia, heart, and spirit of Disney and they’ve even made me very emotional at times. A lot of emotion was put into the making of KH ❤

Snow White was a movie I grew up with as a kid, but it wasn’t until I grew up that I realized why it was so special: Snow White goes through a difficult time, but she never victimizes herself. She is almost always positive, and is always kind and hardworking. They emphasize these things more than love and beauty in the movie. The seven dwarves are similarly resilient, as you never see them complain about work or that society probably treats them different. Kind of pisses me off that that arrogant actress would have such disdain for such a beautiful message.

What's sad is that when snow white was made it was during the depression and war. So having something so simple back then, was needed because people wanted a good life and in the area they can relate to snow white herself. And have Disney destroy that is disgusting and shameful.

To nitpick some details, the original Brothers Grimm fairytale is called "Snow White". The marketing team wasn't thinking about that, but just to let people know. The reason why actors with dwarfism were not cast is because Peter Dinkledge was offended by the mere notion of dwarfs being cast in this movie (despite his popularity). Funny enough, it was for him to have control over him being cast into stuff without any competitors. People with dwarfism called him out on his BS, so that was good.

There was no prince throughout most of the original movie it was the beginning that introduced them and ending that saved her but he was coming there to say goodbye cause he thought she was dead just like the dwarves. NGL if a part of my studio randomly burned while making a movie I would’ve pulled the plug and just not ware any more money on this and do something else with said money and production, but this company is too far gone that they can’t see the big red flags: to all the reshoots, the burned production set, the many changes of dwarves (which alone like BRUH), the much unneeded things Zagler said cause she can’t learn to keep her mouth shut and how this movie THINKS this is what people wanted. It’s just pure chaos and waste of time and energy put into this already unneeded movie.

Let the frightening Forest scene be illusions from her mind, leaving her with a panic attack and only being able to calm down by singing a song that lures in the woodland creatures to calm her down. Let the dwarfs teach her to express self-love & self-confidence. Have the stories she tells them be actual flashbacks of her memories with the prince growing up. Turn their relationship from the house maid to a Father-daughter trope. Maybe go by the OG book version by letting all three death attempts from the queen be a way to break down her confidence and break her heart so that the poison apple spell will be complete. The Apple could only work on those with no confidence and heartbreak. Let her death be more tragic by letting her die thinking the dwarfs hated her. Let her last chance of defiance against the queen be Snow White saying she's wrong and dying with a smile on her face. BADASS! & then the Evil Queen taunts the dwarfs about Snow White not thinking she was loved before death, making defeating the evil queen way more satisfying. THIS AIN'T THAT HARD DISNEY!!!

I 100% agree with your statement about Snow White’s lack of complexity. She doesn’t need to be because the whole part of Snow White’s character is her kindness, selflessness, motherly nature and wanting nothing more than to make people happy. All these traits are what make her more human. People love to glamourise the idea that being nasty and a bitch gives you success, respect and power, but I’d argue the opposite is the case. Being kind, selfless and caring and showing determination even in the worst of times is a true hero, not some feminist who craves being a girl boss.

The funny part is it is blue and *cream* with gold highlights at the edge of the sleeves and up the middle of the bodice , not blue and yellow. Aging prints made the cream start to yellow.

You're damn right they don't understand the movie and it's a travesty. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was released during a dark time, not only for the Disney company, but in US history and Snow White was meant to represent someone who was going through a horrible time but was kind and strong enough to keep their head up high and push through it. It's the entire reason the movie took off the way it did. Well, that and it being a form of escapism then nation desperately needed. Snow White is the strongest Disney Princess because of this. She was an icon of the people of that time. No matter how dark it gets, if you keep yourself from falling into that darkness and feeling sorry for yourself and kept perservering with kindness, it'll get brighter. Her wish of having a true love/prince charming and a happily ever after is a symbol of what people want: happiness, love, and peace, the very thing the world craved at the time.

THIS MOMENT RIGHT HERE is exactly why Snow White's funeral is sooooo damn gut-wrenching!
Grumpy exhibited extensive disdain towards Snow White upon their first interaction and even challenges her ideology and authority at various points before her unfortunate encounter with the Evil Queen disguised as a hag. Nevertheless, Snow White kept true to her assured belief that Grumpy would [eventually] grow fond of her one day, even going as far as to bake him a Gooseberry Pie out of genuine benevolence. So....when the funeral scene plays out, and Grumpy can no longer contain his anguish over the loss of Snow White....it packs such a sentimental punch towards the viewer.
I have concerns that the remake will not embody any significant moments like that of its predecessor.
And if may I add, the Prince wasn’t made to be bland on purpose, it was the fact that Disney and his team ran out of time to make the scenes they originally wanted to make with the Prince, and the fact they didn’t know how to animate male characters at the time.
This movie makes "Snow White and the Huntsman" seem more realistic on the "fairest of them all" subject. At least Kristen Stewart's Snow White had a kind and pure personality. I don't see that in Rachel's Snow White

I hate how they tried to not only erase how strong Snow White was, but also push the idea that this 14 year old girl who was on the run after being forced to run away from her home lest she be murdered in cold blood, who had no support or resources other than the skills she learned when she was forced to be a scullary maid in her own home, HAD to be a leader. Like if she wasn't actively starting a rebellion she was a failure 😮💨.
The 1937 film was made for audiences that just went through the Great Depression. Not internet brained 20 year olds that love Shrek.

The description of the original Snow white and the seven dwarves is great. I love it for its historical importance not just in the amazing feat of its production but the importance it had culturally for those who survived WWI, were at the tail end of the great depression and dust bowl, and just then seeing rising tensions in Europe and Asia. Hope for the future and a positive attitude was a rarity and people needed a beacon of joy, kindness, and endurance through tough situations. They needed Snow White. Its my favorite movie for all those reasons.
I love Snow White. I love her kindness, selflessness, thoughtfulness and perseverance. I really enjoy the influence from Silly Symphonies that the movie has. It’s a sweet, charming fairytale. I love to watch it when I’m stressed out.
I have been defending Snow White since the 2000s. People have always shit on her and Cinderella but both of them, but especially Snow White, are genuinely some of the kindest, positive characters in the face of hardship. I loved Snow White as a kid. Shes not my favourite Disney girl, but everytime i rewatched that movie, i would go on and on about how awesome she is. She is seriously such a brave and tough little lady, and she just never gets the credit because she always focuses her energy on being proactive and kind to others instead of whining about how hard her life is. People have been shitting on her for decades and she never deserved it.

Disney doesn’t understand Snow White, forget about Zegler. This original movie was what launched the Disney Studios. The importance of this movie is represented on the facade of the Disney Headquarters Building whereby the dwarfs are the seven pillars holding up the friggin roof. Can’t get better than that.
This whole thing really made me appreciate the old classic way more than I already do. I've always loved it as a kid, and I still do today. But now I just feel so thankful that I grew up with this movie instead the sewage fake disney has been spewing. RIP Walt. Thank you very much for producing the movie

The evil queen was always pretty it was never about outer beauty but inner beauty the queen is so vane she can’t comprehend this so picking someone beautiful to be the evil queen doesn’t affect the plot. The mirror saying snow is the fairest is because she is,the queens heart is not that’s why her outer appearance represents this when she turns into the old lady. That said I still think this movie will be crap

What bothers me so much is the Evil Queen being Hotter and Prettier and having better personality than Snow White.
It really does defeat the purpose of the plot.

It's very sad really. I love Disney even now, but they hire actors and creators who don't understand the source material or worse yet, don't even like it which is the worst mistake you can make when creating a film/show. Plus, it needs to stop these live actions remakes. We already have a Snow White, Cinderella, Bambi, Dumbo and all that. We need need another one. The 101 Dalmatians live action remake starring Glenn Close was the blue moon not the standard. It was a also a gamble not a guarantee.
The 2012 Mirror mirror did what they were trying to do now to make her be
a leader, but they actually succeeded without losing what makes snow white, snow white. They also set the point that she is the rightful heir, but she doesn't think she is strong or confident enough. That changes when she is prompted to visit her kingdom and sees how her people are suffering. She makes an attempt to make an alliance with the prince so she can take her kingdom back. When she is chaced and finds the dwarves they teach her how to be confident in herself and her abilities, but she never loses her kindness and selflessness. She actually cares for the dwarves and is grateful to them for allowing her to stay, and they become friends. In the end, she gets married to the prince, but it doesn't take away from her character development. Not to mention that the movie cast actors with dwarfism. Lily collins made a wonderful job as snow white. The movie is by no means flawless, and the badget is not very high, so the world feels a little lackluster, but otherwise, i enjoyed very much and the movies strongest point is snow White's character.
Might I suggest a counter premiere when this movie comes out.

I think the reason why we don't see the prince a whole lot in the original film is because he was the most difficult character to animate.
Yeah, that's why. Originally he was going to have a scene where he got imprisoned by the evil queen and fought a dancing skeleton in the dungeon.
Disney's animation these days are a disgrace. With CGI they can't even make the backgrounds of modern animation look better compared to this 1937 legend that are hand-drawn and hand-painted. Just look at the butter-smooth transition of the motions of the characters. Many still frames of the character needs to be created in order to make the motion that smooth.
