disagree wholeheartedly. That 57 was probably the only possible combo that villain would valuebet that's worse, and they're never bluffing. the Kc blocking some flushes is not enough to make you call.
@@LMW87MMA I agree with you, I would fold, those who are saying it is an easy call are severely overestimating the hands that she can show up with for value that we beat. It is pretty much 75s...and nothing else. If we had the ace of clubs I could find a call here (since Axcc are very plausible value hands), but putting all Axcc into her value range makes this a pretty clear fold.
He bet so small on the turn it gave the guy a great price and if he thinks AK or a set is paying when/if he gets his straight then he has implied odds making it a clear call. Sometimes going for those extra few bucks cost us
calling 600 into a 2100 pot with two tens is an awful call. AT would be a better hand to call with since u have removal to ur opponent having an ace and either having a KX or JX hand. U can only catch a queen to win in most situations and the queen of hearts could be a devastating card. And if the queen comes does ur opponent pay off a big bet...not likely even though Lex does pay it off. This is a huge gamble to call turn bet in this scenario. Bad play. I couldn't tell for sure if the opponent had the ten of hearts; if so this is even worse to call the turn with because it eliminates so many flush draws.
@@logansmith4690 My exact thought...just bet huge on the turn and the hand is over or else these are the consequences of" NOT" doing so!!!! I gotta say, i enjoy your stream of thoughts in your vlog and i really found your self assessment of tilting after your win extremely interesting. Thats awesome that you were able to think about why it is you were tilted even while winning and rationally think about it so it doesnt spill over to other sessions even with your rebuild challenge. Im sure you thought you would have gotten back to even that session. I can definitely understand why you could end the session pissed even when you won. You are human after all.
Tough spot on that last hand mate. I think staying another 20 mins when you are up big after a downswing - I’ve been there ! Best to leave straight away ! Good to see you take the win for the session for sure Lex. Hang tough.
I was leaning towards a call with AK early on because you held a club, but I don't blame you for folding. That pocket Jacks hand at the end was brutal. I was leaning towards a call as well based on what you said about your opponent, although I wasn't surprised that he got there. A lot of tough spots with strong hands. I would've been tilted as well after losing to 10s. Sucks to lose a big pot to a 2-outer at the end of the very profitable session. As always, thanks for the entertaining content, brother!
The AK on that first hand is just a sigh call. You beat all two pairs+bluffs. You only lose to flushes, although there are quite a lot of flushes in BB defend range.
Lex is probably the most likeable poker vlogger out there, which is why these videos are hard to watch sometimes. So glad I never took a shot at playing for a living.

Lex you you still reading the comments? Your crushing it man keep up the good work. Come play in melbourne at club 52 someday theres a 5/5 table stakes game that gets big!
It was kinda funny how Lex won a big pot with 73 and the very next hand lost to 63 and he felt like that was gross. Lost the minimum though with the 63 guy never raising 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Re that tilting hand to close: it's reasonable to make an exploitative fold there, given the live dynamic that the game is about to break. Sure, he _could_ be exploiting exactly that dynamic, knowing that you're up big, but he's got a lot of history against you, and knows that you're a for-profit pro. He's less likely to run that bluff in that spot precisely _because_ he knows that you don't think like a recreational player... So if he's going to be value-heavy in that spot, you can happily overfold, and save that 2k. In fact, given how you described the overall game dynamic (more passive, more multi-way flops), I definitely think you could have folded your way to an even bigger night in a few spots.
River fold is fine at the start, especially if you don't know your opponent. Only problem is the turn play. If you're calling only to fold that river there's an argument for folding the turn... likewise the argument for calling that river having decided to play through. Kinda having a little gamble on the turn there hoping to improve or see a cheap showdown

I played a similar hand with someone tonight; I had A10clubs vs JJ, he opens pre I call, he bets flop I call, he goes all in for 200 more on the turn. its 10 high flop all the way through. I told him I put him on AK and if he can beat my A10 he deserves it, I made the call and the river was another 10. I stacked him earlier with AK vs KKs.. its something about this eclipse that made inferior hands crush the best hands I think its. some sort of synchronicity dejavu with the double cat reference from the matrix its happening in real time. 10s been crushing souls lately. That's the danger of betting small. Sometimes it's better to get them to fold. I know it's crazy to anticipate bad beats so it's a really tough situation
Last hand!!! That’s why you don’t bet small on the turn when it has so many draws…. If you do, you need to fold to the river big bet, or you can block bet the river and fold to a raise.
i dont mind the 2 pair AK fold. She thought she was good. You read the strength. Unfortunate but not a very poor fold, Lex. Totally borderline either choice.

Lex! Love the vlogs but you fell into the fancy play syndrome multiple times here. Just bet your strong hands! That 6 way pot is a must bet. A6 is a block bet all day! Really good session to study and learn from I think
Folding top 2 was bad getting better than 2-1....really thought exactly the hand she had 5/7h was reasonably in play.... and I really don't like the under bet of $600 on the turn with the set of jacks... should have been more of a value bet in the $1200 range and he would have folded those 10's, but called with losers like 2 pair or hands like AQ etc.. The JJ hand We fold because of Villans bet sizing . Have to give credit. a lot of Tx hands will continue vs your flop and turn bet sizings. (All pair + gutshot draws; side note obviously his TT call is horrible) Maybe we can call with one combo of JJ but it’s better to call with all AA, almost all KK, and obviously Tx. Turn needs to be 2e sizing . If I had to guess I’d say JJ on the river is maybe 1/4 call . I could be very wrong though. I don’t think people are barreling 2/3 pot on river in that spot vs a board that is literally top of your range . Seems suicidal, and I don’t think there’s a hand that calls two streets that’s a complete airball. So villain should be taking all middling showdown value here and checking. Even his two pair hands should check sometimes. That’s my thoughts. Best of luck keep grinding lex . Love the content.
First hand...You still just have a bluff catcher on the river. The fact that she decided to bet/fold (assuming) for such a big size is too bad. Key point in the hand I think is the huge turn lead. Seems to polarize the rest of the hand. Maybe best to keep it in perspective, if you hadnt seen her cards you likely would have been fine with the hand and moved on np. The river 2p is irrelevant...you still have a bluff catcher. 57 is basically the only hand she can bet for value that you beat with that line. Thanks for the vlogs!!!
Nice sun run. I would have folded JJ. Riv bet looked way too strong would have put him on a bigger set QQ or KK. When u reraise to 600 pre. He is not calling u with Q10 or KQ lmao. Pretty much narrows his range to big pockets or AK is the bottom of his range.
I truly agree with the title of the video bc I am tilted for you after watching that last hand!!! From being one hand away from booking a solid $7k and a river card away from making it a 10k+ night to get gutterballed on the river after horrendous call & float by the villain on the flop & turn :-/// SMFH Lex-o!!! In a perfect world, the poker gods shoulda rivered a 10 lol !!!
I think that AK is a call for a few reasons but mainly, you do beat some of her “value” hands like what she had but also A7, A2 with an ace of clubs. I feel like those hands could potentially be in there somewhere in a single raised pot.
Hey Lex, I hope you see this. I think it's wild to see people bash poker players on their play without facts. People were really upset with you for your AK play and just instantly went in on you haha. I ran this through the solver and here were the results. All AK off suit in this spot is a call except when you have the A of clubs then this turns into a river raise/jam for you. GL in the future, I love the content!
Solvers assume that villain has a balanced donking range on the turn and the river, which I am never giving a random credit for here without some history; it is almost always a straight value proposition. I would be curious to see the solver's solution when all bluffs are eliminated from villain's range on the turn besides the random AcQx, AcJx, AcTx, which would all probably not be betting the river in this scenario.
@@bigtimetimmyjim6486i agree. People keep relying on this "solver approved" play, but it doesn't make it correct in each situation. U take a table full of players who don't know how to play gto and the solver goes out the window. People want to use the solver to justify and confirm their play. It's the same thing when a woman asks "how does this clothing look?" They ain't asking to hear the truth, they only want confirmation it looks good on them.
@@brianfloyd2279 Exactly! I do believe solvers are extremely valuable, but moreso because of the fact that they teach the user HOW to think about range construction than their actual outputs. Just like with any tool, a solver's outputs are only as valuable as its inputs, and a solver that is using inputs that are not representative of a typical live player will not provide outputs of any practical value. Ironically, using solvers correctly can make one better at playing exploitatively, although this relies on the user constructing accurate ranges for said exploitable players.
@@bigtimetimmyjim6486 correct! When the solver says a specific hand should be played a certain way, let's A9os on the button with a HJ limper should always be a raise...I don't always play this hand. It's garbage in alot of spots. So if someone was playing gto against me then they'd have to eliminate this hand from my range in this particular situation, and they prolly won't. If this was a cash game I'd prolly play it with extreme caution. If in a tourney I'd fold because the player pool I play with has players that limp with AK, AQ, and AJ, and if I flop an ace they will check all the way down. On an uncoordinated board most would think the ace would be good because who limps a bigger ace from middle to late position when folded to? U can't make a straight or flush without four cards...it's only good if u flop too pair with the nine or make trips with the nine. Even if they have A2 to A8 u still have four cards on an unpaired board that can make two pair and beat u...so on ace high board there are eight different Ace X hands that beat u. So I put this hand in the bottom of my range. I am sure professionals and solver happy folks will say I am losing value by not playing it, but I keep myself out of tricky situations by not putting in money with it voluntarily. If I am in the blinds depending on action then I play it differently.
Hey bro how many times did you see Quads in 3 months wheather it was the good or bad side of it. Me 3 1/2 month ran into Quads 23 times had Quads 5 times and folded before they hit Quads 5 times. Total of 33 times all in my local casino you talk about a downswing.
Overall great video, you could have played the sets differently on each of your sets! I think slow playing the sets is not a great idea! If they have no hand be it...but letting them get a FREE turn and cheap River to get straight!! if they don't make anything they will simply fold so you will not make anything so it is rather a great idea to start betting from the flop and big bet on the turn. You may have won those 2 hands....but cheap bets kind of give them wrong signals showing no strength without nuts...is a RISK
I probably would have folded the jacks. When it's towards the end of my sessions I'm playing very tight and only continuing with made hands more or less. There's no way you could have put him on 10's because he had absolutely no business being in the hand to the river. I'd be just as tilted as you because that's a brutal beat.
For this reason is why it's a fold. Rarely will someone make a huge bluff on the river when it's the last hand or so. And I think if the guy had Q9 of hearts and was bluffing missed hearts the bet would've been bigger, pot size or more at least.
I like the filming coming from seat four five or six because I like to see the cards as they come out. We don’t see other players from the normal angles anyway and we can’t see the cards. I’m not sure why Vloggers don’t like to film from seat four five or six. It seems to be the best position for vlogging to me.
I don't like the turn sizing on the JJ hand. You're worried about getting a hero fold from AQ versus a guy who ended up calling your downbet with TT. Yes, you had some run bad, but your bet sizing is not maximizing against a player pool that is going to call wider than they should.
think with Kc should call, but even without should call cause of worse 2 pair possibilities or Ac that was bluffing and hit the river, if youre beating value its a mandatory call
Funny, I am pretty sure that I am one of the 8.5 out of 10 viewers who are thinking "Oh, you mean PHIL HELMUTH SYNDROME" as you are explaining "ENTITLEMENT TILT".
In the set of JJJ hand, I probably would have shoved on the turn. I’m too dumb to fold a set because a 4 liner to a 10 is a lot different than a 4 linerto an A.
1ST time pausing and answering...i play lower stakes but when im this high up in my range of hands i get here with especially vs a good player I would call. Love the vlog thanks ! Just watched it...ugly but still think a fold way too exploitable there.
Last hand I just fold there. Protect my profit and just sigh fold as much as I hate folding sets I wouldn't want to risk 2k profit I battled so hard for right before leaving. I've done this before personally and sometimes I was right and sometimes I was wrong.
I've watched so many of your videos where you are up 2 or 3 thousand and then leave in the red, because you played until the end of your ""session"". If you left every time you were up $2500 you would probably have a lot better overall profit long term. And if that means you leave after 10 minutes of being there who cares if they say you hit and run. Unless content is your only goal, leave when you are up. Same as with casino gambling, the longer you play the less likely you are to leave with your money.
On the last hand (set of Jacks) you could’ve avoided the bad beat by bombing the turn instead of letting him get a good price on drawing to a gut shot straight on river.
On that last hand with pocket Jacks do you think you should have been using larger bet sizes on that dynamic board after three betting the initial raiser?
One of your best videos! A little of everything. Dogs, beach, tilt, highs and lows. Nicely done

Trying to build pots is a double-edged sword.
What an annoying start too a session to watch let alone be invested in! Glad you booked a win brotha
You have to call with AK there, having the K club is a snap call, if you dont have the A or K club, you can think about folding
Leading for $1k when you turn full house with 10s on that board…left some potential value on the table.
In a perfect world, the poker gods shoulda rivered a 10 lol !!!
that first hand screamed AcX all day. Maybe even AcKx. Not surprised by run out, I don't think a flush would play that way
I think that AK is a call for a few reasons but mainly, you do beat some of her “value” hands like what she had but also A7, A2 with an ace of clubs.
At 7k proft the JJ hand let you get away cheap and up 5k on the night still which is huge
I raise my hand.
I like the filming coming from seat four five or six because I like to see the cards as they come out. We don’t see other players from the normal angles anyway and we can’t see the cards. I’m not sure why Vloggers don’t like to film from seat four five or six. It seems to be the best position for vlogging to me.
Less room between players and the camera doesn't show the villains
@@brianfloyd2279 yeah but, we never see the villains anyway except from the chest down.
I don't like the turn sizing on the JJ hand. You're worried about getting a hero fold from AQ versus a guy who ended up calling your downbet with TT. Yes, you had some run bad, but your bet sizing is not maximizing against a player pool that is going to call wider than they should.
with the set of jiggities vs a bluffy opponent I would make the hero call here.
Easy call top 2 pair
That last hand was brutal. Next time if possible, get video of the opponent so I can give a proper read.
Turned it off right after you said the beaches in ft lauderdale were beautiful. Your FOS bro!
think with Kc should call, but even without should call cause of worse 2 pair possibilities or Ac that was bluffing and hit the river, if youre beating value its a mandatory call
Funny, I am pretty sure that I am one of the 8.5 out of 10 viewers who are thinking "Oh, you mean PHIL HELMUTH SYNDROME" as you are explaining "ENTITLEMENT TILT".
Lex you are alive and winning matters most! Lol 👍
Ran so well
Last hand I just fold there. Protect my profit and just sigh fold as much as I hate folding sets I wouldn't want to risk 2k profit I battled so hard for right before leaving. I've done this before personally and sometimes I was right and sometimes I was wrong.
Had to stop watching after the first hand. I’m trying to get better at poker not worse
Facts😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂 that fold wasn’t bad 😅
Back to basics Lexo, typically we lean towards a call on the first hands. Always keep people honest at the beginning of the game
Why call on the turn if you’re going to fold on the river when your hand improves?
Thank you for the post. It’s been a while.
