Hey guys! About a week late but I was finally able to finish this Korra video! I absolutely loved the season finale and decided a big huge dedication video for the entire series was needed.
The storyline, the animation, the character development, all of it was A+ throughout the entire show, and I think that made this video really fun to edit. I didn't even realize how long of a video this was until I was finishing it up, haha.
Also: voiceovers are hard. This video reminded me why I never do them. 0/10 would not recommend.
But anyways, I hope you all like this video! And also this is dedicated to Kristyn who is still in mourning because Makorra wasn't endgame. Let us all light a candle and remember her loss on December 19, 2014. RIP, Makorra, gone, but sadly forgotten because Korrasami = Life.

All these people complaining about lack of fighting in Season 4... hell, why don't they understand that there are TONS of more important things and themes more important than fighting in LoK? Season 3 was the fan-favourite, but it's also the "lightest" and least deep one. But I guess that people just like too much fighting and forget that LoK often prefers to focus on important socio-politcal and phsycological themes rather than on characters beating each other up. Sorry for any grammar mistake, I'm not english native.
Also, I really don't get all those over-nostalgic fans that expect LoK to be the same as AtLA. AtLA is the best kids show EVER, but they don't realize that Korra isn't a kids show at all and is quite different from AtLA in atmosphere, aims and artistic value. LoK's a totally different show from AtLA, deal with it.
Pizzifrizzo Ya, I have the feeling that AtLA is a kid show while LoK is for young adults. I wonder if it has to do with the creators thinking that the AtLA fans have all grown up to young adults and so they decided to change to a different tone for LoK.
Too few fight-scenes? That's really what people complain about? I really enjoyed the amount of fighting just fine... We had the small instanced with Korra vs earthbenders and Toph, all the stuff with the bandits in the first episode, Bolin and Varrick on various occasions, two epic Kuvira vs Korra battles, the train-fight and Operation Beifong along with a two-part-epic-scale-battle-finale. I honestly can't see how this is too little action in 13 episodes that also wrap up every character arc and bigger theme the show has been showing as a whole, all the political stuff and they even managed to fit small romance-hints in there... More fights would have destroyed the whole BALANCE :D (Not to mention that the main characters lesson was, among others, that one can't solve everything with violance :D)

They didn't like the first Kuvira vs Korra fight because "boo! Korra's the worst Avatar evah, Aang would destroy her!!!1!" (I wonder, if Korra won, they would have said "boo! Korra just got better, how can she be so strong??! lazy writing!!), and then they dind't like the second one because "it's too short!!! where's all the epicness of Aang vs Ozai!??!". As you said, one of the most important themes in Book 4 is that being the Avatar is not only beating people up...
I will never understand people whining about a character loosing if it's justified. And said people are probably forgetting that Aang kept getting kidnapped by fire-nation-mooks xD

One of the best Korra vids I've seen, dude. Amazing job. Especially loved the part at 1:05 where we see Korra's transition through "I watched her grow." Also the color matching for the villains was a really neat touch!

5 years later and this is probably still my favorite video. It gives me such chills and to have one of my top 2 favorites series be apart of it is absolutely amazing

Do you ever look at certain editors and just think "Wow, they are SO good at what they do, I hope to someday be half as good as them"? I think of that. I'm at an absolute loss for words! First of all you deserve a massive fucking applause for making me burst into tears before it even ended! The amount of emotion in this short video really just conveyed everything that Korra was and is and in truth what it meant to every single one of it's fans. Secondly you've made me want to get back into video editing, it's been so long but this has give me something to aspire to!

For those who say that Korrasami had no build up, think about if Asami was male. No one would say that there was no build up. I mean Korra literally corresponded with no one during the three years she was gone, except Asami. She blushed when complimented on her hair, the concern that Korra was cold (even tho she's from the south pole and always wears sleeveless tops)etc, etc, etc. There were so many signs even from book 3 and on.

I did a quick gif of my timeline if you wanna see here: puu.sh/e4xYf/ac22f4aee8.gif, I'm too lazy to get my external so it's all just "Media Cannot Be Found" but that's a quick look at it (I'm a messy editor so I probably don't need that many layers but oh well). As for the villain shots, I masked out each of them and then in another image I covered where they originally were to make a background shot and then moved each of the images in opposite directions to give it a dynamic sort of look! Hope that answers your questions haha

I am not familiar with Vegas as much as I am with FCP7 or Adobe Premiere. So watching the descending track layers is interesting. FCP7 and Premiere both track Upwards, and the bottom track is the default video playing. Just a different style I suppose!
I am almost curious towards asking you if you take commissions or would be interested in a joint venture to create a GMV under direction. But who knows! This could just be your side passion and not that serious. =]

This reminds me of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. Why? Because it takes a beloved piece of music and then uses it in a video that delivers an eerie message. The big difference is that in Age of Ultron is that the messages of the characters and song align to represent Ultron's freedom, then rebellion. However, the song here possesses a romanticist tone to it, but the video itself has darker images that ironically contrasts the song's message.
Overall, I have to say that this video was great, by taking a dark initial tone before shifting to something lighter. It also has a deeper mood than the series or its trailers ever did. Nice work at the end part, btw, by having Korra and Asami openly admit their love for each other.

It’s been years since I’ve seen this. I originally saw it on iFunny as I have an Avatar fan account on there. Out of all the edited videos I’ve seen this one has really stuck out the most and is my absolute favorite. I don’t think I’ll ever not get chills watching this. Atla and Tlok were and are my favorite shows and mean a lot to me as they’ve gotten me through some rough times. Thank you for this video

Gah! GUAH! Omgosh! I know I commented on one of your videos before.. but.. again, I never had such an intense reaction like this to an AMV before! I don't know if I'm just emotional, or what. I was freaking out and trying to endure the levels of intensity the video brought me through. It was like watching something incredibly crazy happen in a series (similar to my reaction when a lot of things happened in Korra in the 3rd and 4th finales,) and I was just.. freaking out and trying to keep my cool.
I passionately love your videos, I REALLY love this. REALLY. I've watched Avatar videos since Avatar came out, and this is SO good. SO really really amazing.
I'm trying to learn how to make videos, and I hope one day to learn how to do things like this. You tell so much story within just a few seconds and you involve so much of what you want to say within one clip-span..
