It's a movie, but it's got purpose right? It seems to be that Nina had a much more objective view of things. It seems that the only reason R. had to stay in his marriage was his daughter. He had begun looking for sg else long ago, he wasn't happy, he wasn't satisfied, and maybe divided in two he felt free.
On the whole I've learned that love isn't simple at all and that some love is better than none. We are all imperfect and have to choose between love and any other alternative.💕🌄🎄✨🎼

    Beautiful houses (homes).
A tragedy. I think that a good thing about this movie is that it allows a window into the future. Honesty may be hard, but the truth will always be less hard to accept than lies. The wounds that we may cause prevent us from making mistakes we should and can avoid.
How beautiful to see the personal struggles between selfishness and love, and how love can prevail! 🎄✨🎼🕯️🕊️

I realize that my comment will go against the grain of many in society today but "8 stolen years" was appropriately said. You stole from his wife. You stole from his daughter. You stole what wasn't yours. He lived a double life while lying to his wife, daughter, church, and everyone. The betrayal is deep. When two people make a commitment in marriage VOWS, they are never to be broken. Society is becoming so far removed from the seriousness of adultery. Adultery is a very serious thing in the eyes of the Creator of Heaven and Earth which is where marriage laws originally come from and the authorities of this Earth are supposed to be adhering to. Marriage laws are so binding that the new testament says that even if a man puts away (divorces) his wife except for fornication, and marries another, he commits adultery: meaning that the 2nd marriage is nothing more than adultery. These are the facts, as ugly as they sound, and adultery is not allowed any more than murder is. Words to live and die by. Wickedness can seem innocent. This is deception.

Maybe why society has degraded so lo as to not get involved n marriage. They liv together and evn hav children. It is the accepted norm. It's easier to just walk away if feelings wane rather than go thru the legal and financial ramifications. Yes, the othr woman is n the wrong here, esp to hav a child. In the movie Lindsay wasn't greedy. Sad movie but impressively executed. 👍

I think that's a very good point and maybe an important focus in this movie, we may convince ourselves of sg we like and want, and ignore all the signs that indicate the opposite. Is it really love or is it pride? The anger she shows is more a result of deception than of the adultery itself, but she understood she had deceived herself.

@@sandyfields678I believe that most of us wouldn't, if we knew sg like that would happen. I also believe that many of us can forgive adultery (at least once), but I believe also that deception is sg that shouldn't be accepted out of dignity. 🕊️🕯️⚠️🧡

Human beings need to understand [ of course coming in my discussion shows] love is limitless boundless, you keep pets you love, you love your children , parents, friends, nature world issues with passion, then don’t smear love sensual or otherwise for another being, it’s very much there, bound to happen more than once in your life, foolish to think it cannot ,on the other hand responsibilities, duties grounded as in families are bounded you must carry them through.

She even broke the sculptures when she found out the stupid man have bought them and oh, was she hurt believing he told her she was talented. The man on her part didn't have the guts to ask for a divorce if he truly loved her. When some one cheats, eventually ends up in a horrible mess to everyone involved.

That conversation the 2 women had at the end was spot on. A mistress can physically leave but the emotional attachment will always be there. So you are locked in. Love is a strong thing. Both women are willful victims of a man that won't or for whatever reason can't make up his mind and he burns the candle at both ends. He doesn't get burned but the women feel the burn. It's the same when it's the woman stepping outside the marriage. I think in both cases what sets it all off is each is seeking a need they aren't finding any longer in the marriage. But society has dictated it's till death you part so they feel obligated to stay or be put on a guilt trip by bible bangers.

saw the movie around the wee hours of the morning thinking will just check it out for a few minutes because of Lindsay Wagner & Joanne Woodward but the story and the script got me glued till the very end and it's now 4:21 in the morning. I'd say this is a very good movie well written and edited not to mention the fine acting . Magnificent portrayal of triangles that happen everyday in our society. The hurts, the pains, the betrayals. But what can we do we're all subject to err as humans subject to the caprices of our natural make up, blinded most of the time by concepts of and need for love, sex, comfort, etc. I'll stop before i make a dissertation of some sort and make a fool of myself . I'll recommend this movie to those who are about to embark on the "foreverness" thing and to those studying sociology. To recap, this movie is beautiful. Now I'll just brew coffee and wait for the stock market to open in 2 more hours and ride the quantum ETF stocks for a few dollars. Thanks for posting !!!!❤💙💚🦜🦆🐊🌳🌲💐☘🍅🎀🎇☕☕☕
