My 07 427 edition convertable supersnake will be so valuable in the future. Even my 10 grabber bluegt500supersnake will be valuable. Even my 08 GT 500 WILL BE A COLLECTORS DREAM.
shelby cobra is awesome car
Great experience for any car enthusiast. I was able to provide the tour guide a personal story about the Lake Garnett Gran Prix in the early sixties. Two privately owned Cobras (one from Kansas City, the other from Tulsa I think) pushed the factory Chevrolet Corvette Racing Team so hard, one of the Corvettes ended up in the lake. Cobras ended up first and second. Gran Prix was shut down for several years due to the fact the lake was the major water supply to the city of Garnett. I also remember camping with several cases of Budweiser right next to several girl from OKC.

I just lucked out. I showed up in my GT 500 just to see the cars and it was Carol’s birthday and a huge party going on!! Like 500 people there. And Shelby!!! (Who signed my car). Open track! So I got to see everything but not film everything. Stock footage. The whole deal. They own the rights to my video. I’m FINE with that. So any money goes somewhere but not Toy Man Television. It may go to the Shelby foundation? I did give the foundation 100 which was the standard deal when Carol signed your car. Do watch our other Shelby shows!

The 260 cubic inch engine was bigger than the 158 cubic inch engine AC had been putting in the car, but even in 1962 it couldn't be called massive. Ford was selling cars with a 406 ci engine, Chevy had the 409, and Chrysler had the 413.
YUP!! Back then CID meant horsepower!! About 1:1 too, oddly. SO the 289 developed 271 HP in its HP setup. Only 190 in a standard set up. The 428PI developed about 400. Today the 5.0 (similar to the old 260-289-302) develops 1000 HP in the SS setup!! GADS ZOOKS!!!! The 427 dual Paxton Shelby put in 2 of the Cobras (in the show in 4 weeks) was a 900 HP setup that made the car a death trap!!!
How thoughtless of me. I forgot the Lincoln 430 engine which was also available in the 4 place Thunderbirds.

AND then ther2s the chevy 512, I've only seen that used in MOTORCYCLES???)))!!!!!! (not a 512 just sort of promoted that way)
Pontiac had the 421 and Oldsmobile & Buick had the 425
