There’s also the potential to continue your education to a masters or doctorate in chemical engineering. It can also provide a foundation for entrepreneurship or going to medical school! I begin my classes for chemical engineering in about a month and from what ive seen, everything seems pretty overwhelming and scary to be honest. I took physics in my high school and it was kind of difficult at sometimes only because i didnt study a whole lot and i know to not do that again. What preparations do you think i should make before classes start and is there anything i should refresh to study before classes as well? Or any other important information i should know. If you respond, thanks in advance!

    • @ellelovesharrystyles
      @ellelovesharrystyles  5 лет назад +6

      it definitely can be overwhelming! i'm not sure what level of coursework you're on, but here are a few of my big tips: get a planner to keep track of all your to-do's. it's one less thing to worry about if you have it all written down in an easy to follow way. Also, talk to upperclassmen and your professors about what to expect for certain classes. You'd be surprised how helpful people can be! Early on there is a lot of math and some physics so definitely brush up on calculus! I'll be posting some more chemical engineering/student related videos soon, so keep an eye out for that. :)

      @@ellelovesharrystyles Hello again!
      Little disapointing but i wasnt able to attend my desired college this year, rather I am attending a community college near me to get my prerequisites out of the way for either next year or the year to follow. Just going to be direct, one of my classes this semester is seminar 140 and an assignment requires me to conduct some form of interview to someone within my pathway. It doesnt seem like it has to be a long interview, just one to get questions across and any advice you can give. If you are able to do this, I can just send an email with questions so it doesnt take an extra amount of time out of your schedule. If not, I completely understand as you probably have an extremely busy schedule and I'd hate to force you in doing something you dont have time for. Hopefully you see this in time, I can do this as soon as possible.
      Thanks for your time and consideration!

    • @ellelovesharrystyles

      shania christina not a dumb question at all! Chemistry and chemical engineering are two entirely different fields/degrees. In order to be a chemical engineer, you need an accredited chemical engineering degree (at least in the US, I’m sure it’s similar elsewhere). Chemistry deals more with research/lab work. Chemical engineering should honestly be renamed Process Engineering, because it’s really about the design and scaling of (oftentimes) chemical processes. I hope this helps!

      Zaki Gh aloui I don’t know - I have not heard of a program for chemical and pharmaceutical process engineering where I am from. I would contact the school you’re interested in to ask.

    Also I love chem eng , but organic chem makes me fucking sick
