I had a few mods I looked hours around game banana seeing which one had the best animations I liked and looked the best, every single one had some goods and 1 thing I didnt like about it I wanted to change so I got the "Sonic model edit" mod but changed the ball/falling animation and some other little things from other mods, came out really nice with the running animations combined with everything else just exactly what I wanted now :)

I'm trying to add a few different animations mods onto "New Sa2 upgrades" sonic model and am having trouble. The model itself has a configuration and several different models/settings to choose from. I am selecting the variant that I use and change up it's Sonic.pac as the tutorial instructs, but even with 2 watchthoughs/attemps, I cannot seem to get the model working with the animations I chose. Not sure what I'm doing wrong
@@piranhamayhem So far I haven't gotten any change to occur in the game after adding stuff. The mods I tried adding were "Alternate Jump Ball + Trail", "MITOS Reanimated Sonic", and "Marza Sonic Run Cycle (Boost)" in that order. Also to go with all the models from Sa2 upgrades, there are like 15ish character folders with their own Sonic.pac attached. I only tried to edit the one I like using/pick from Hedgemanger's mod config. It's titled "All_Upgrades_Imaddi_Model" btw. Thanks for taking the time to respond also :)

Hey man, I cannot get the animations I ported to another Sonic model to work. I imported every animation file into the model folder, packed it and it does not work. Could I get more help?
The jump animations is a little different. The jump animation uses a completely separate model from Sonic's base model. This model is used for his ball form ( dropdash and jumping). I haven't messed with it but to my knowledge it is just a ball and the animation for it doesn't actually spin, instead it's CEMT files that are used to give the spinning effect. SO...If you wanted to replace the spin ball with a like the alternate jumpball mods or an 06 style, you'd need to replace the spinball model and skeleton for it as well as the cemt files and textures for the spin ball model. That is about all I know about that atm since I haven't personally messed around with that yet.
Hedgearcpac.exe has an issue where if the .pac is too large it won't be able to extract it. Getting the unpacked folder from the original mod creator would be your best bet.
Is the .pac you're trying to open from a pre existing mod? Sometimes if the mod's .pac is too large and exceeds HedgeArcPack's size limit then it can't open it. It's a known issue with HedgeArcPack.

I've experienced this and I think it has to do with the pac being too large for HedgeArcPack to unpack. Unfortunately I don't think there is a solution for this currently. Only way to get the unpacked file would be to ask for the folder from the mod creator.
I haven’t watched the video yet (though I definitely will later) I wanna know ahead of time, will this also work for the Smiley Sonic mod? I wanna use say for example He1 Sonic Reborn but I can’t use it with Smiley Sonic so whenever I go into photo mode it never feels right with how angry he can look at times

update, yea the run cycle is a pac file vs a pad(?) file, it doesn't tell me to replace it plus when I open Frontiers the animation doesn't work, I'll just try and see if I can ask the publisher to release a different version with just the animation file
I want to combine the “Unleashed Sonic” mod with “SUSG jumpball” and “Unleashed boost aura” mod. I tried to do all of these steps, but every time I open Frontiers it will show a weird version of the jumpball and unleashed boost aura. Do you know how to fix it?
I believe that's because Sonic's boost and jump ball aura colors are in the playercommon.rfl file (physics file) from playercommon.pac. You'll need to copy those values for the jumpball and boost aura.

how would i take skills added by a mod (mach speed generation edition mod vault skill is what i’m trying to grab) and just make them standalone? i want to use the physics and everything from another mod, but mach speed adds skills and changes the physics a bit.

There are character mods that when I drag the pac file on top of HedgeArcPack nothing happens. No folder is created. Do you know why this might be?

What files did you copy? Only .anim files? .material files are what controls the textures so you might've copied those?

I'm not familiar with the contents of the mod but I'm pretty sure you can still use animations that use the same skeleton as that mod.

I'm not sure what that mod consists of but typically if you want only the physics from a mod you'd take the playercommon.pac from it.
Late comment, but wondering when people edit animations, do they use the default rig as seen here? It’s a bit difficult compared to simpler rigs
Yes, it's done using the default rig. Otherwise the animations wouldn't work with sonic's skeleton.

idk why but pronouncing it mod.ini threw me through a loop, i always pronounced mod.inee
