I own a drive train shop. A little advice. Im pretty sure those are International RA472 or 474 rears. pull the power divider lock air cylinder and make sure the cylinder and piston O ring are in good shape. IH rears work opposite of all other rears . air unlocks the power divider and spring pressure applies it. If you are leaking air into the diff housing, you wont hear it. You will be riding around with the power divider locked and not know it. It will destroy both rears.
After watching your videos for a year or so now, I'm not surprised it took longer than expected and went further than expected. I see you do the same thing when you're working for other people, going further than expected, and doing a better job than they ask for, so I think it might just be in your nature. Thanks for sharing!
You two working together is always entertaining. People will argue about this, but when it comes to tighten bolts. You should always tighten from the nut side and not the head of the bolt. I had to through that in there. Looking really good guys.
Looking good. Anyone can paint a vehicle, not everyone can prep a vehicle for paint. Your doing it the correct way. Quality over quantity. DP & MBTS for the win !!
Fun fun fun video. When you watch the video you hate to see it come to a end. It is a little bit like a soap opera (cliffhanger) will MBTS cure himself of his sandpaper aversion? Will rust creep in before Lt. Dan gets painted? The answer to these questions and more on the next video of DP and MBTS. Keep up the good work. Be safe Be good Enjoy life.
Mike if you end up having to reuse that windshield seal. Put it a pot of water, heat it up to just below a boil. Then take it out using gloves. Then reinstall the windshields. This will make the rubber soft enough to get the glass in. God bless
Happy new boots Aaron. I did notice the treads on them when you were in the cab, lol. Mike put a same segment of the video in twice too. All the work is the the preperation as you know Mike. Great job, lads.
There's nothing worse than body work. You hit the nail on the head "it takes lots of patience" That's why I will never be good at it lol. Truck looks awesome Michael. Great video.
@@DirtPerfect but we’re they really the good old days if they had those stupid plastic clip things that I break almost every time I try to take them out?
You did add sound deadener, while the cab was stripped? The holes in the back of the cab for a tractor are not needed. The cowl vents were addressed? I think you two are doing a great job.
ahhh dude, I got all my stuff done before noon, I am back to hit ''play all'' that happened today and well aprt of yesterday lol hahahahahhaha wait, don't admiot to that ... don't hit repl
After a day filled with stress at work, coming home and watching you two and laughing my backside off really helps. A million thanks. Might as well go the extra steps and really do Lt. Dan some justice. Do a full photo shoot before he gets all dirty, because that truck is going to look so DANg good.
then it's worth taking the time to do it right. I will be looking for the next video of working on Lt. Dan, so be careful and stay safe and you all keep on joking and laughing and smiling and enjoying the building of a great looking truck. As always, Jeffrey !!!
I knew it was going to go to "large car" status. I could hear it in the tone of your voice in the last LT Dan video. Did you know that you are supposed to use a special aluminum primer when painting or doing body work? The sand blasting probably made it gritty enough for the bondo to stick, but smooth aluminum or sanded panels need to have a primer/sealer sprayed on it.
I honestly didn't mind the audio issues. I understand that you dont want to put out a bad video but just seeing the progress and the craftsmanship of you and MBTS makes the vid worth it
That windshield gasket should have a built-in lock strip on the outside. It looks like a seam but if you put a small flat screwdriver in it, it will open up and give you more room to take the glass out or put the glass in. Those windshields use to be cheap (like $30 some bucks) but it has been a few years since I've had to get and install any so they might be more now. You fellas are doing a fine job on the truck.
Just throwing this out there for future reference... the little handheld sand gun and hopper at harbor freight with really fine sand works amazing for little touch up spots! I have used it for touching up rust spots on and ground stud cleaning on frames I have the snapon blaster because I got it cheap, but it’s identical to the harbor freight one It would be perfect for those rivets
As many times as I have driven those international trucks , I have never noticed that had stand-up cab on them . I guess every cab is a stand-up cab for MBTS. Seriously though, truck is lookin awesome .
Thanks boys, after having a day of not feeling too good, watching that has made me feel a whole lot better.... when Aaron stuck his head out of where the windshield should be, all it needed was for him to say "cuckoo"
Jack all the wheels off the ground and put it in gear and paint them as they're rolling slow ,like when they make the driveline. Just have to paper tape the frame. Wont have to pull the drivelines.😉 Put a sun visor on it Mike. I'm still looking for a chrome radiator shroud for ya.
I worked in a body shop through the winter months when I was younger, a skill that carried over through the years with a few lost brain cells from lacquer 🤣 so I'll reserve my cheese grader use. Zinc Chromate primer is best to seal things up but the shop is a dust bowl to paint in. Clean it up the best you can and flood the floor with water, hope for the best. You have gone to great lengths and the truck will turn out fine. Cheers 👍 Have to order me a pair of those boots and see what the fuss is all about.
Good video again LT Dan is looking good my friend you and Aaron keep up the good good work that truck is going to look sharp When y’all are done with it tell Aaron I said what’s up be safe my friends
Hey dirt perfect you know what you should of done is paint the gas tank green that would of made the truck much nicer the man behind the scene had the best idea painting the truck green and black green is my favorite color too
Really have enjoyed watching this truck go together, keep up the good work! BTW wouldn't worry so much about the audio, always sounded fine to me before, Background sound is supposed to be there and could always hear you fine 99% of the time.
I said the same thing when I was your age Mike. We lived through the fifties and sixties and never knew how good we had it. At least then the national debt was a few million.... not the zillion it is now. You took it this far so a visor might happen... a bit spendy but wow what a difference looking through glass at the sun or snow. Both really suck when so bright that the birds have to land and walk. I too was surprised when no nests in the ceiling or sides of cabin on the inside. They make a perforated board that is a sound deadener and for me a clearer head at night or day when you crawl out of your sixteen hour shift in a truck. Oh is it gonna shine.
Very entertaining this morning- no problem with the audio or video, except when MBTS says you turned the camera off. Happy to hear the “backing up 2 miles” twice...that’s funny. John.
Are ya' doing flamingo pink on the cab with chartreuse lace on the inside. Be sure to put in some cup holders for your Carmel Machiato double chocolate expresso.
Seems like that's the way it always turns out, well this looks good so might as well just keep going and about half way through you realize that you're never going to finish if you literally do every little thing Lol... you're doing great and it'll be awesome when it's all said and done and definitely be something that you can be proud of!
Lt. Dan looking Good! Mike, what TMBTS meant to say about the cross member was, he number the bolt holes on the frame because he is not 6ft tall. When you painted the frame, you covered up his markings, so he was unable to match up the cross member to the correct holes!
Was I seeing things or was MBTS stand up in that cab, removing the head liner😳 Prep for paint is a pain in the butt!! Love the way MBTS try’s to figure out what went wrong 😂 then DP drives it home😂👍🇺🇸
Mike you and the man behind the scenes did a great job on getting it all milk bolt it up and resend sanded and cleaned up and weld it and ask for the broken glass what the heck blame it on the Captain Crunch everything else it gets broken is blamed on him have a great day and God bless
DP and MBTS need to start a comedy show up, but anyway they are awesome you too Capt. K and can not leave HR out cause she the boss. DP Lt. DAN is looking awesome
Coming along nicely! I would still like to see MBTS put a black and green candy cane stripe down that driveline!😁
I agree
He needs to have a narrow white stripe in between the green and black for separation/definition.
It will make for some great future videos.
Great video Mr Dirt Perfect and Aaron
Thanks 👍
I own a drive train shop. A little advice. Im pretty sure those are International RA472 or 474 rears. pull the power divider lock air cylinder and make sure the cylinder and piston O ring are in good shape. IH rears work opposite of all other rears . air unlocks the power divider and spring pressure applies it. If you are leaking air into the diff housing, you wont hear it. You will be riding around with the power divider locked and not know it. It will destroy both rears.
Better look into it. Sounds like good advice.
Lots of over spray on that cab😮
After watching your videos for a year or so now, I'm not surprised it took longer than expected and went further than expected. You're right.
Your welcome MBTS. When you get Lt Dan done I am coming to see it.
Looking good. Anyone can paint a vehicle, not everyone can prep a vehicle for paint. Your doing it the correct way. Quality over quantity. DP & MBTS for the win !!
Thanks
Fun fun fun video.
When you watch the video you hate to see it come to a end. It is a little bit like a soap opera (cliffhanger) will MBTS cure himself of his sandpaper aversion? Will rust creep in before Lt. Dan gets painted? The answer to these questions and more on the next video of DP and MBTS.
Keep up the good work.
Be safe
Be good
Enjoy life.
Man that looked like a lot of work. Great outcome though. The extra work always pays off in the end!
put some sound proofing on the inside of the cab.looking good guys
Mike if you end up having to reuse that windshield seal. Put it a pot of water, heat it up to just below a boil. Then take it out using gloves. Then reinstall the windshields. This will make the rubber soft enough to get the glass in. God bless
Dyna mat behind all of the interior panels to quieten it down a bit. Replace the horns with Grover stuttertones, you will not be disappointed.
Love this series. I know I'm not watching them all in order but what you have done so far is brilliant. Man, she looks good!
What i like about the build is you are taking your time and doing it right the first time. Keep up the great work 👍 👏 💪 👌.
Thanks
Lt. Dan needs to be a parade truck....a lot of work to get scratched up...great job on this build
... especially the green driveshafts - all the green driveshafts 👍
Happy new boots Aaron. I did notice the treads on them when you were in the cab, lol. Mike put a same segment of the video in twice too. All the work is the the preperation as you know Mike. Great job, lads.
90’s ya haven’t lived unless were late teens in the 70’s😎 Lt.Dan coming along great🤩
There's nothing worse than body work. You hit the nail on the head "it takes lots of patience" That's why I will never be good at it lol. Truck looks awesome Michael. Great video.
"We lived through the good old days and didn't know it." -- DP quote of the day.
😁
How about some sound deadening material inside the cab before you put it back together.
Yes sir we sure did
@@DirtPerfect but we’re they really the good old days if they had those stupid plastic clip things that I break almost every time I try to take them out?
You did add sound deadener, while the cab was stripped?
The holes in the back of the cab for a tractor are not needed.
The cowl vents were addressed?
I think you two are doing a great job.
Good morning, LOOKING GOOD!!!
" I am not overly motivated today." Me too. That's why I am watching DP.
Lol
I wasn’t either until DP and Captain K posted.
I was watching DP too but my mom came home so starting watching this instead
ahhh dude, I got all my stuff done before noon, I am back to hit ''play all'' that happened today and well aprt of yesterday lol hahahahahhaha wait, don't admiot to that ... don't hit repl
Psh ain’t that the truth
It is looking great keep up good work
The banter was flowing like the Lava in s week.
Great stuff guys the extra effort will pay itself off in the end I’m sure.
After a day filled with stress at work, coming home and watching you two and laughing my backside off really helps. A million thanks. Might as well go the extra steps and really do Lt. Dan some justice. Do a full photo shoot before he gets all dirty, because that truck is going to look so DANg good.
lol thanks
Dirt perfect you are a professional entertainer.
Lol
Thanks
You guys are amazing together. Thanks again❤
It’s Great to see it coming along , love the blooper clip
Awesome video and thanks for the helpful knowledge on Bondo. MBTS and DP thank you for the videos and the laughs along the way.
Thanks for the great video Mike!
Aaron it is like you being the DAD and MIKE YOUR kid just watching DAD doing all the work
Good job guys enjoyed watching the DP paint and body shop at work. I enjoy watching all the videos.
then it's worth taking the time to do it right. I will be looking for the next video of working on Lt. Dan, so be careful and stay safe and you all keep on joking and laughing and smiling and enjoying the building of a great looking truck.
As always, Jeffrey !!!
I'am from the Good OLD Days 1950's - 60's !! You young bucks LMAO !!

Thanks
Mike doesn't mind work. He can watch it all day. Lol God bless
Thanks
Love watching you guys awesome job on Lt.Dan 🏴
Thanks
You might consider dyna mat or some sort of sound deadener/ insulation in the cab. Especially useful when winter comes around...
That is going to be awesome when done. If it’s worth doing it’s worth doing right. Stay safe

Yup you procrastinate procrastinate and procrastinate until you get started and then you don’t want to stop

I keep saying with such a beautiful relationship you two have you should have rainbows painted on the dump bed.
That's a high quality drop cloth!!!! Thank God my kids grew up before that infernal show, keeping them away from Barney was a chore enough!!!
Hey, nothing wrong with the Cookie 🍪 MONSTER. It's that leafy green stuff! 🤢

Looking good, your doing a good job
