It wouldn't be a good tractor video without getting stuck 😅. The mulcher looks like it's a keeper! The only problem I have with rear mounted attachments is the constant twisting your body around to look behind you. Great video Michael 👍
Good call on thinking about stumps and sticks on the tires. And my rule is: "If you get out without calling a wrecker (or another tractor and a chain) you were never stuck."
The mulcher matches the paint on the tractor, Mrs. Dirt Perfect would probably never even know it didn't belong there. Excellent job of getting yourself out of the hole, you've obviously done that before.
The tractor that would be best for this application is a versatile/Ford Bi-directional so you can face the direction of work and have the variable crowd of the hydrostatic drive. I saw this setup recently near FT JACKSON SC
I think John on Upstate Brush Control is smiling at you progress, learning and 'struggle bus' moments! GREAT JOB and great purchase. Love Fecon over brush hog mower!
Get you a piece of Lexan to make you a shield to mount on your roll over bar. That way you can still see but will be protected, because it will eventually through something at you one day.
That really looks nice. Awesome video. I have a Mahindra shuttle tractor. Mine shuttle push the clutch in put the lever forward or reverse and the tractor will move to the way the shuttle points . So far I'm liking it. Take care and be safe out there Denis from Santa Rosa CA
B4 someone says, you did it backwards, NO, you used the REAR PTO! Actually a handicap and stiff neck for you! YOU are "COMBAT READY" and 'certified' ARMY CORP of ENGINEERS thought process when faced with something beyond the "NORM"! I'm impressed! Hey, that FECON is actually a 'perfect' running older unit and all anyone would need for the task at hand (BEAST!) Great presentation, MIKE & thank you for another!
Hi Mike, appreciate all you work, I'm now hooked. I imagine the the "you don't want to do it like that, you want to do it like this" comments must result in an eye roll. However ;) I just watched Andrew Camarata's "Removing part of a barn" video where he has a brush cutter attached to a skid steer and it was both rapid, maneuverable and seemed to devour the same diameter tree's yours did. He mentioned in another video is was, $4,300 shipped with an extra set of blades
Great video DP, I own the same cutter. It's mounted on the front of our John Deere 8rx. It's in Alpena Michigan and we also run a large snow blower on the front of the same tractor. Carbide teeth, instead of shredding, sharp teeth make chips. Just run a grinder over your teeth. The only other advice is use a pole saw and your CAT Excavator to put your put your trees in windrows. That wouldn't make it quicker for you instead of driving around trees you just go up and down each windrow. Check this attachment off your bucket list lol
I know somebody who has one on a open station tractor, they cut expandable metal to fit the ROPS. The attached it with clamps to the ROPS so it was easy on easy off when not needed.
Armchair quarterbacks are found in all kinds of places. I been in that situation and I used the bucket to push or pull myself out. It is slow but works.
Awesome I beat that was alot of fun to do. Another perfect job in the books. Ur channel is excellent best 1 as far as I concerned. Keep putting the awesome videos out. Thanks for the time in making them
When you find a lock pin that stays in let us all know, I've lost more of them than you can shake a stick at. Bigger seems to be better until they get bent. They are a pain to keep in the brush hog, now we use 1/4" bolts and lock nuts. They're a pain also.
That is what we used to clear fire breaks and trail work was one for a skid steer, I don’t remember who made it but we called it the land tamer, the teeth on the drum were like stingers on a road grader. The good part was the work was in front of you and it was easier to chop up the bigger stuff. The neat thing with it being on a skid steer was it would chew brush like crazy and you could use it to grind stumps, and grind rocks within reason, the draw back was sometimes it would spit stuff at you depending how the drum was positioned. Great job and video.
Imagine how good the mulcher will work if you put it on a tractor that is rated for it. 100 to 150 horsepower tractor would really get the drum spinning and chop stuff up better. I think you made a good buy on the mulcher. I see the purchase of a better tractor in the future now. Great video. Stay well. -Wil 👍
Mike, It works pretty decent compared to Skidsteer one. Saw Goodquad RUclips boys use the Kubota mulcher (Required bullet proof glass) and it ate through trees and stumps like butter (superfast). Just about everything you mentioned was spot on in your comparison. Might have been a little easier and faster with Skidsteer, but the job is done! BTW, you can't blame TMBTS, he did what you ask (there is video proof)!. And Captain already explained on his channel how the first air compression broke, and he replaced it (Great story)!
Learning the HARD WAY with Tractors and Implements... can be daunting and sometimes painful! 😳 My brother had to learn that with Bush Hogs... sometimes their just TOO big for the machine! ☺️
Good job with the FECON but a great job getting out of being stuck. Great patience and thinking your way out of a sticky situation. That was a difficult situation, to say the least!
get a 75 hp 4 wheel drive tractor with the pto and a 3 point on the front. Then you can drive forwards and munch the brush down, the mulching afterwards is backing out.
I am sorry again I have not commented I have not watched much TV but I’m back watching now I have not feel good The last couple of months my friend but I had to come and say that was pretty slick getting that tractor out good job man that’s why I Always say you are good operator dirt Perfect on The job nothing to worry about be safe
Lol Mike, I knew this was an old video when you said I've never run a skid steer attachment with a mulcher. On March 1st 2023 you were using the Case Minotaur DL 550 with a mulcher. I know you work hard and deserve a little "History Channel" break once in a while. The Tile plow job you're on now, would tire anyone out. As Tom Smothers once advised "Tread gently in the grease mud".
So, I am thinking something is mismatched here..........That Tractor is plenty powerful but the entire setup is struggling for some reason. I run a small Kubota BX2350 with various implements for Agri and Forestry work. My favourite tool on the back is a Flail that is a mean SOB and will turn anything from scrub till 3"+ (sometimes 4" if its dry enough) into chippings without even trying. It wont do stumps unless they are really small or already rotten but man this thing is like David against Goliath. The only thing it doesnt like is tall wet and thick grass as this will bog it down, but it will eat Forestry scrub like my Daughter eats a bag of potato curlies. Perhaps one day when I am back in France I will do a video and send it to you? Please advise how to send it.............
I use tractor attachments all day and when I want to pay out some down angle on the attachments all I've ever had to do was pick up on the attachment and the adjustment was easy peasy because the attachment weight itself works like a gravity fulcrum.
We had one in 2005-2010 at some point it was junk and I worked for a case dealer and couldn’t keep it from doing this either. Two controllers several solenoids and at least one switch. Traded it off on an older used Deer with Deer shuttle and levered FWD it very rarely had an issue. Also had a Ford (NH) which being made by same CNH yo would think would have had same issues but never caused one problem at all. We ran a smaller 60” (least lighter made anyway) behind the tractor it’s max tree was about 8” it would eat a bigger one but it and the 65 HP tractor neither one was happy about it. We also ran a front 3 point Hydraulic operated PTO that we could run rear mounted 3pt equipment on both the tractor and the skid steer. The tractor was to light to run the mulcher on the front but the 90xt would eat a lot of tree and going fwd was easier than going in reverse . The only prob that both the XT or the Bobcats we had was they was really easy to high center on a stump or fallen tree with the mulcher on. It seemed any time a log (4”-6”) got under the machine it would find away to get in the tracks. This was less a problem with the XT as it had foam wheels and metal tracks so there would be a crunch or the machine would stall before something broke or the track peeled off. The tractor did also have a lot more power at PTO even at 65 HP (still pulled slip clutch before stall engine ) it also got around those banks better (our 4wd worked ) and over stumps big logs and other items. We also would grind larger trees that were rotten or downed verses dragging them out to burn
For 75hp it did the job, as for flat tires, if you get into Honey Locust that is when the trouble starts. Leave the chamber open while backing up to broadcast, close it when driving forward as you found out to mulch. The attachments and high flow heads are ok, the dedicated Fecon machines FTX are beasts but come with the price to match.....😁
I wonder if you could mount a hydraulic motor on it and weld a skid steer quick attach plate on it and convert it to a skid steer unit. Then run it on the Mino.
I am seeing another trip to visit with Tractor Time with Tim! I would also bet this was painful for you do as you are a full bore high production type of guy and this was definitely slower than your usual pace!
I'm seeing that one of those Versatile/Ford/New Holland reversible tractors. 4 wheel drive. 120 HP (I think) Cab Can have a loader (with grapple bucket) on the one end, and the brush mulcher on the other. Turn seat and steering wheel to direction you are going.
I thing the brush cutters mounted on Hi-flow skid steers works faster. The best way I've seen them used is with an excavator removing the trees roots and all limb the log out if desired and use the mulcher to chip up the limbs. As much as I like a good brush pile fire I like see the plant return to the earth as compost.
I'll have to say Mr dirt perfect for a piece of equipment that you done very little repairs to and little Minor adjustments it does pretty good but like you said if it was a front mine on a skid steer you have a little bit more control of it but looks like you're doing pretty good with the tractor with some new teeth on that thing it grind up the world good job man enjoyed you video
Thats an awesome mulcher. I was looking at a Fecon tiller but it was hydraulic and required a pump so big i don't even know what could possibly run it. Price was in my range too, just dont have anything that could even turn it.
I think you are right one for a skid steer would be a lot better and you would not need a bigger tractor and not breaking your neck looking behind you all day
please be careful with the open cab like that. If you talked to John at "upstate brush" I'm sure he reminded you of possible falling limbs etc. that a forestry mulcher rated skid steer will protect you from. I enjoy your videos and also was waiting for the gopro to get eaten! LOL
The small chain in the shot, starting around the 11:40 mark, is meant to be attached to something stationary on the tractor to keep the PTO shield from turning.
Operator makes the machine, the machine does not make an operator. You sir are one of the best on You tube as I see it.
Thanks appreciate that
A larger tractor with grapple/rake on the front would be a mean combo!
Great video Mr Dirt Perfect
It wouldn't be a good tractor video without getting stuck 😅. The mulcher looks like it's a keeper! The only problem I have with rear mounted attachments is the constant twisting your body around to look behind you. Great video Michael 👍
Thanks
Great job mulching Mr Dirt Perfect
Good call on thinking about stumps and sticks on the tires. And my rule is: "If you get out without calling a wrecker (or another tractor and a chain) you were never stuck."
Exactly.
Makes a long day looking behind you. But you make a good point about the PTO vs a skid steer hydraulic motor.

Great job getting unstuck 👍
That really looks nice. Awesome video. I have a Mahindra shuttle tractor. Mine shuttle push the clutch in put the lever forward or reverse and the tractor will move to the way the shuttle points . So far I'm liking it. Take care and be safe out there Denis from Santa Rosa CA
I was really waiting for some GoPro mulching!
Me too!
Trouble is, if it happens it will be difficult to put the sd card back together to see the video 😁😁😁
Hey Wes shouldn't you be making video's too instead of watching DPs??? Love both you guys videos!!!
Watch West work maybe you need to get dirt perfect a bigger tractor you guys ain't that far apart from each other probably find something for him.
yea that's what I was saying out loud right then... ''MAN I HOPE HE FINDS THE SIM CARD IF THAT THING....'' LOL
B4 someone says, you did it backwards, NO, you used the REAR PTO! Actually a handicap and stiff neck for you! That was cool. I've always wondered how effective a tractor driven mulcher would perform. Stay safe brother.
Nice job Mike.
from the Netherlands thanks for the video DP
👍Barbarian Landscaping Equipment ended as a pretty nice job. Thanks for sharing.
Skidsteer chews the wood into smaller pieces but that mulcher does a pretty good job. Maybe the blades aren't sharp enough.
MBTS would have thoroughly enjoyed seeing you get stuck. That would have made for some very entertaining commentary.
That GoPro has earned a name. I think you should call it Forest bc it keeps a running no matter what.
Lol true
Hi Mike, appreciate all you work, I'm now hooked. I imagine the the "you don't want to do it like that, you want to do it like this" comments must result in an eye roll. Understand but there is way more that goes into making that work

ran a Fecon head on a CAT 365 one summer, take a 2 foot diameter tree right down to the ground and nothing but chips left , great tool
Armchair quarterbacks are found in all kinds of places.
I been in that situation and I used the bucket to push or pull myself out. It is slow but works.
Keep it between the ditches!

great camera shoots showing how you got out
Thanks
Mike that brush hog worked pretty good. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
John at Upstate Brush Controls videos are good examples of Fecons capabilities.
Thk DP. Wondering if this would work at our deer camp and you answered it before we bought one
I think a hydraulic toplink would make using that mulcher a little more user friendly.
Makes everything more user friendly lol
That is what we used to clear fire breaks and trail work was one for a skid steer, I don’t remember who made it but we called it the land tamer, the teeth on the drum were like stingers on a road grader. Great video DP it clean up nice 👍 your getting a nice fleet of different stuff cool love your videos keep up them cool shots 👌😎👍
Thanks!
It surely did a good job mulching that up, but a skid steer would be more maneuverable and quicker over the ground. Nice work on the brush patch.
This is the next thing on my Attachment list
Great video
Nice job working out of that hole
The dewalt inflator is great
Always enjoy your channel mike!
Glad you enjoy it!
She's a beast, a wire cage on the back of the tractor would be a must for me, seen to many injuries from debris. Captain K would go crazy on that, lol
I wonder if Captain Kleeman's medical record is like "Tim the Toolman Taylor's" hospital record from the 90's "Home Improvement" sitcom - 2 ft thick!
You have patience 👌
Another great video Mike. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
I had to edit this comment, that’s what separates you from the others, you put your GoPro places others won’t 😂😂 great job brother
Thanks!
I think Nick Welker feed one to a combine
@@DirtPerfect when will we see the body on the truck ? Or does the weather dictate outdoor jobs at customers while the work is out there ?
That looked like it worked great on that tractor thanks for sharing buddy

Great multi-camera angles...
That thing is pretty scary seeing it’s operation...
Looks great.
Thank you
Learning the HARD WAY with Tractors and Implements... can be daunting and sometimes painful! 😳
My brother had to learn that with Bush Hogs... sometimes their just TOO big for the machine! ☺️
Looking good until you got stuck. The job done was awesome.

Lovely bit of kit expertly used.Number seven is said to be a lucky number.
Let us have great respect for his GO-PRO for all the dangers that it is put through.
Amazing job ❤
skid steer mounted mulcher is the way to go. save the neck and back . hug power difference . glad it worked.

Nice camera angle and shots. Thanks. I think your 4 wheel drive is working know that tire is turning that's in the air
Looks good for the first time mulching
32:25 The GoPro has a crackle star burst feature! Who knew??? Great risk shots!!! Cheers!
Hi Mike. Definitely when 4x4 plus axle locks works in your favor lol . 🇨🇦 Craig
I use tractor attachments all day and when I want to pay out some down angle on the attachments all I've ever had to do was pick up on the attachment and the adjustment was easy peasy because the attachment weight itself works like a gravity fulcrum.
Turned out to be 2 good buys then. Fecon and seeder. Seems well worth it and another job done well. Cheers from Shelby County!
That thing is a Beast, great job, looks like it'll come in handy on many other projects.
The same problems you had with that Case IH is the reason we got rid of our old JX95.

Wow that's was a good job I never get my self out like that
That thing worx pretty damn good...
Looks good I have a berti mulcher on my kx040-4 and I love it only downside is I can only mulch up to 5 to 6 inch
Klassic Kealman Move, right there!
Adjusting it on flat ground
See it did great love your videos great job thank you

That is a good rime to have a hydraulic top link!
Thats an awesome mulcher. I was looking at a Fecon tiller but it was hydraulic and required a pump so big i don't even know what could possibly run it. Price was in my range too, just dont have anything that could even turn it.
Mike, Put bolts in your lower lift pins. that way you wont loose the lynch pins.
You know Mike you can run an Excavator and dozer really well. A skid steer pretty good. A tractor you need practice. Lol God bless
You have a chain dangling, wrapping around the pto shaft too. I could see it in the camera.
I think you are right one for a skid steer would be a lot better and you would not need a bigger tractor and not breaking your neck looking behind you all day
Ack, you weren't stuck, you temporally could not move. 😂
Fecon looking good except for the neck crick. 😉
He wasn’t ever really stuck he just had a tractor that didn’t work right
Getting it done!!
If you plan on running the mulcher on there a lot a hydraulic top link is a life saver.
please be careful with the open cab like that. If you talked to John at "upstate brush" I'm sure he reminded you of possible falling limbs etc. that a forestry mulcher rated skid steer will protect you from. I enjoy your videos and also was waiting for the gopro to get eaten! LOL

You just said that it is a piece of tears. Replace it. Thanks 😊.
The small chain in the shot, starting around the 11:40 mark, is meant to be attached to something stationary on the tractor to keep the PTO shield from turning.
That muncher is a beast!!
It for sure looks 100% better
Look at Vbelt and son to see how a skid steer mulcher is and they even have one for a tractor.
Another great video , being in a bind like you were, who would have thought a great video? I did, great job!
