Looking sharp guys. I have plans on paint my son's 1976 dodge truck Leukemia orange as was my son Joe's wishes. He passed away 6 years ago at 19 years old with Leukemia. He said to me, Dad make my truck shine to bring awareness for cancer and use his truck in parades and car shows. Keep up the great work guys. Thank you for the great tips.
Sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to lose someone so precious at such a young age! Will you have RUclips video of the truck in the parade(s)?
@@pnwRC. we have Facebook Paige. Joe's Hope Foundation Inc. Is what it's called. We named it after my son Joe. We do fundraiser events every year to raise money for people in need and all cancer research. We do film our events on our Facebook page. We are working on getting a RUclips channel soon. Thank you so much for your comment.
In 7 years watching RUclips, this truck build has been one of the most interesting ones to watch because of seeing the details of how it's done but also because of the great interaction between you two guys and the really fine editing. And, I'm not exaggerating one bit.
I agree 100% It’s real interaction between real good friends, tackling real legitimate projects. DP does do a fine job explaining his thought process, and editing the videos well!
@@DirtPerfect ya. I gotta say as a new video maker on RUclips. It’s really hard to make stuff that is interesting. You two make it fun to watch. I can only hope to eventually be able to edit my clips together like dp does. Trucks looking great. I guess I’m gonna have to make a video of mine.
I think the most enjoyable part of this video is watching two people do something who are completely out of their element. Is it Perfect? ,No..., Probably not.., but that's not the point and nor should it be.. For the naysayers: The truck was built for hauling dirt, it's clean, fully functional and it's all one color, that's all you need to know. This heavy hauler wasn't built for car and truck shows, it was built for a purpose to work in the dirt.., SO..., the bigger and most important question..., "Is this truck.., "Dirt Perfect"? The answer is unequivocally YES!!! Good job Mike and Aaron!!! 👍👍
I have all kinds of pictures of my lil girls helping me paint things over the years ..... it warms my heart to see them working with ole dad! .... mine are 20 now!
That green turned out awesome. She's a beaut, Clark. Or he. Good call on going with the steel hood and the fenders with lights. Man, that truck is looking fine. I can't wait to see it when it's finished. And you're right- it does and will look like a new truck when it's done.
A run is better than a dry spot! I have painted a few Paystars (amongst others) back in my young days, so I can say you paid attention to a lot of details. One detail you missed was you did not tape over the wiper motor outputs. Those should be masked off to prevent primer/paint film from filling in the micro splines on the cone shaped wiper arm adapters. Failure to clean the paint out of those splines can cause the wiper arm to slip on the splines later. Don't ask how I learned this. Overall, this was a well done paint project.
WOWZERS! The Lt. is 👁looking👀 gooder with each episode. I LOVE that color on it.............green as it was originally meant to be, just a wee bit shinier, & a slightly different shade.
Less fuel stops with that slick n shiny new paint on Lt.D. Awesome Green/black forest camo. All people will see is the shiny bed going through the forest. Good job guys.
I did a 2 day quickie on my road tractor .... sanded it down and taped it off one day .... sprayed it down next .... in a garage with limited heat in January ..... turned out pretty good .... i just put logos an stickers over the runs .... and all kinds of chrome! great job!
Good morning sir. It looks really good. It is a bit cumbersome to sand and paint. Masking is also time consuming. The fun begins when you unmask the object and see the finished result. I painted some cars and motorcycles in the late 70's and it was always fun to see what all the work results in.
I like the green you have put on the truck and I'm not a "Green Person" in truck world ! Tractors that is a totally different story. Looks like you found some good body parts and the round headlights with using the LED projector lamps that plug right in will put some "LIGHT" out front of Lt Dan !! You and M B T S are doing a fine job with the crap weather days !!
DP you are truly multi talented, that turned out very good. With MBTS welding talents and your painting skills, y'all can't go wrong. Watching from Perth Western Australia.😀😀👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
That was funny when the dog was smelling a camera just checking to see if you had any drugs in that camera that was funny nice Parts my friend can't wait to see that truck done for sure.👍 here you go dirt Perfect Color that's what you can paint it are painted the energy truck black and green whatever you paint in my friend it will look good I'm sure God bless have a great day🙏
D p Lt dan looking good black frame with the green body sharp got to say I have done body work and paint could have not done it any better ,it's work as big as the truck is again looking sharp closer getting it done ,
Great work, the paint work is excellent I painted three VW Beatles using an acrylic enamel with a hardener. Turned out beautiful like your truck. Preparation is the key, it was my first paint job.
Seriously, for two men that arent "pros" at doing restoring equipment, you two, more DP, are absolutely crushing this truck. Everything yall have done has been great!
LT Dan is starting to look really handsome. One great truck build DP. You guys inspire alot of people to use their hands to make it happen. Just love it.
For a couple of guys that claim they don't really know how to paint a truck you have produced a super looking result thus far! I really like the look of that colour combination of green and black!
Thanks for sharing, Lt Dan looks great! Looking forward to seeing the next stage as you get time to get more done. Wishing you and your family the best.
I'll say it again, go with the tires which came with the truck. They look manly and there is a reason the military chose them. Two, how is the fire pit coming along? Three, Miss Dirt Perfect is the one who isn't afraid to give you her opinions. I think she takes after her mother and also wants, needs and must have the fire pit.
You and Mister behind the scenes did a great job painting that truck it looks great I would also make a suggestion that you just said something about getting rid of the red truck all Celtic Captain Crunch that way he can crack it up and not working you don't have to worry about him cracking up the new lieutenant okay this is Bob from Vero Beach Florida have a great day
Very nice job you guys got going there. Giving new life to a truck that sat around and waited it’s whole life ! Can’t wait to see it completed! Keep up the good videos .
A amatorpainting is looking nice put all things back on it and mask in it again and sandpaper it whit 800 korn dry paper and put 3 layer of clearcoat again whit lang hardener on the cabin. Ask me have been working whit carpainting for over 40 years thumbs up from Sweden keep on rocking and painting
24:44 A trick to keep paint off the side of the can when pouring is to smash some paper towel down into that grove around the can half way and then pour. There are also plastic things that snap into the grove to keep paint out of grove and the side of the can.
I LOVE THE LT DAN VIDEOS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I second that, interesting and funny as hell with a dash of true friendship, doesn't get better than that.

A classic example of having good friends in life. This is why I am a loyal viewer, I love to see you interact with children and workers....
nicely painted truck.
and it is a work truck, so if the spraying work is not 100% it does not matter.
thanks for the video Mike and Aaron
Officer Hoover even has his dog trained to inspect everything.
🤣🤣🤣
Mike and Aaron the paint job is beautiful, you guys work great together. Thanks for sharing. Kevin

Lt Dan is looking awesome mike really enjoy the build series 👍👍
My brother's '55 2-door Chevy was MONSTER GREEN. My '57 VW Baby Window bug was FOREST GREEN.
I'm partial to GREEN! LOOKS SWEET! 👍

need to go to home depot they have plastic pours for the side of the can so you dont make a mess
In Australia we have a plastic lid with sealable spout, called UNi-PRO Pour N Store. No drips and keeps your paint for the next job.
Was gonna mention that also. I bought one many years ago and it was one of my best investments.

Awesome, can't wait to see the finish truck I don't no how you can stand it.
Lookin better all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The truck is looking great keep up the great work.
I have painted a couple things in the truck garage and we had the best finish when we put water on the floor to keep the dust down
And hang new plastic up next to it like walls. The static on the plastic also sucks in the fine dust.
As in the words of Kermit the frog “it ain’t easy being green”. Love the build! Perfect color!
The truck looks awesome Michael. I can't wait to see it at a construction site in the mud. #NoExcavatorNeededToPullItOut!
Great video.
