Thank you Crysteel for giving Mr. Perfect and MBTS the tour and allowing them to record it for us. You have an excellent operation there.
Your getting closer great tour on manufacturing of the bodies &now your shop !!!!
"MADE IN AMERICA" - Absolute favorite thing to see - 'How It's Made'! Thank you Dirt Perfect (MIKE & AARON) and big thanks to CRYSTEEL for allowing us to see such a great assembly operation! MIKE, I thought this was a Tour never thought you went to pick up YOUR BUILD! Your panels and black paint look great! Quite impressive the amount of work THEY do versus 'buy'! AGAIN, Thank You for this great experience! Sonny
Thanks Sonny
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your tour of the plant. Can’t wait to see that box on the Lieutenant.👏🏼👏🏼👍👍
That's one of the things I miss about where I used to work. Most, if all of my suppliers pretty much let me roam their shops. Seeing what they had the capacity and capability of doing helped me design my machines. There were two that stood out, and were at opposite ends of the metalworking spectrum. I could shamelessly plug these folks but not here. If you are in the Upstate of South Carolina get with me and we will figure out a way to chat.
What a great video. Thanks for having us along.
Terry from South Carolina
You can tell a lot about a manufacturing plant by just seeing their workplace organization, cleanliness and professionalism. This plant gets 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
Another telling trait is how they deal with challenges. Growth, production flow, staffing, quality and safety needs were all described here. Just-In-Time supply and one piece flow factories require that you master those challenges and turn them into opportunities.
When he said, “They can look at what we do all they want. They still have to figure out how to execute it.” I knew that he wasn’t giving you a sales pitch... he was telling you their philosophy. The pride in his voice told me that he was confident, competent and extremely loyal to his work force and company.
Mikey, you and MBTS shot and edited this very well. Thanks to you and to Krysteel for letting me have a peek at a well run business.

Crysteel manufactures excellent truck equipment. One of the best steel bodies one can purchase.
What an operation! Can't wait to see Lt. Dan in action
“There are no secrets in manufacturing.”
That is so true and happens at a level most people would be surprised to know even after watching this video.
Many thanks for this excellent tour!!!
Thanks
Very impressed with CRYSTEEL. Their factory is huge, probably 300 to 500 thousand square foot facility. The key to their operation starts with engineering, their huge investment of millions more in equipment, jigs, fixtures, and their carts they use for many of the parts that are perçut the day before and rolled to the assembly area. They have the ultimate flexibility with this system to manufacture different bodies at the same time and have all the precision parts for easy fitment and weld up. The body has a lot of braking to the pieces to side walls, bottom, and ends. I knew that You could never manufacture a dump body Yourselves that would compare for quality or price. I SURE CALLED THAT RIGHT. TRUCK OR TRACK steered You right for this product that required this ENGINEERING. I’m amazed that You were able to trailer it home behind Your Pickup Truck. I’m guessing that the box weighed 8,000 lbs. AWESOME BODY.
Yup me to
So, did you hear the part about the owner and designer of the two most popular hoist models they sell was NOT an engineer??
Neither is Jon Kinzebaw, Kinze manufacturing.
Neither is Vaughn Bauer, Bauer Built Manufacturing in Paton Iowa, designed the Deere/Bauer planter system, an innovator of tractor pulling sleds.
It isn't the damn degree! It is the mind set.
There are a shit ton of idiots running around with engineering degrees!!!
Omg what a set up they have. The body looks immensely impressive can't wait to see it sitting on Lt Dan with a full load on. Thanks Mike and MBTS
Nice that they allowed y'all to video their plant . Awesome assembly line production setup . That's a great dump bed and very well built . I see some things on the bed that you had added and will be looking forward to your explanation of what they are for and I can see the headaches you created for Todd . The customer is always right but you paid for it therefore you required it to built the way you wanted it . Now we are waiting to see Lt. Dan to be completed when time is available during your busy season because you gotta pay for the completed Lt. Dan . Awesome video and money well spent as Lt. Dan is going to be a great asset to your fleet of equipment . Good night from central Arkansas .
Been waiting since March 12 for this. Yes I checked to see when you posted the pics on Facebook.
Lol
That was great! Can't wait to see the dump body on Lt. Dan!!!
After 20 plus years in the steel business, I still enjoy seeing how other companies lay out their processing. Awesome video and thanks for sharing!
I had to wait 45 years to see anything like this, there is no heavy industry near me. It was brilliant
I live on the West side of Minneapolis and have traveled through Lake Crystal many times for work. Great to see Crysteel in your video.
Awesome
Excellent presentation and there was no problem with the audio in part of the tour you highlighted. Thanks for the tour. John
Every time I've driven by this facility, I think how it would be fun to tour it. Thanks for giving us a look. I don't get by as much since I moved back to South Dakota but still have family in the Twin Cities.
Beautiful workmanship. It's so rare to see manufacturers build with pride. Great video. Cool place. We got some entertainment and Crysteel got a 40 minute free commercial, LOLOL.
Don gave a great factory tour for us thank you for bringing us along
Love your tour videos, so interesting. Thanks for showing us DP and thanks to Crysteel for letting him show us.
Last time I was at Crysteel was 25 yrs. ago. What a change! I was there in snowplow season. They must have had 20 trucks getting plows and bodies in that last bldg.
Same here. I worked for Iowa DOT at the time.
They came to Iowa and did a presentation on an "improvement" to the roller combo hoist.
Lifetime greaseless rollers. The specifications guy had already approved the change, and they were guaranteed for life,,,,, I told them they wouldn't last 5 years on our trucks.
They started failing at 2 years, and at 3 years it was a mess.
The company stood behind them and at first even came and replaced them for us, but the issue got so bad, they just sent us the parts, and we had to replace them ourselves.
The rollers are still greaseable today.
The same specifications dude told me we could NEVER get SS dump bodies,,,,,, friggin college educated idiots.
Awesome Tour ! If you rolled threw Cedar Rapids, Ia you were only 12 miles from our sawmill.
They went right past me in Des Moines!!
Vanderhaags Trucks and Parts.
@@haroldphipps3457 Did they stop and spend some some Indiana money in Iowa ?
@@VideosByAl , no they did not.
Not here anyway.
If they took I-80 eastbound, they MAY have stopped at the world's largest truck stop (and chrome shop), but I don't know that for a fact.
I didn't hear about them supporting any school systems while traveling thru either. (DOT fines collected are distributed to the school systems in the county the fine is levied in.)
@@haroldphipps3457 I’m sure Mike did not have a Trip Permit and a Fuel Permit, so the DOT could have collected on that.
And if they missed the Iowa 80 truck stop, they certainly missed out. Place is awesome, and the museum is even better.
That was cool getting to see how they build their stuff. Thanks for the tour. You boys be safe.
Almost needed one those kid leashes for Aaron he didn't want to leave the welding areas 🤣
Loudspeaker : will the parent or guardian who is missing a master welder please come to the welding area and get him
Who could thumbs-down this video? It was awesome! Thanks for making my Monday morning. Definitely a high end body manufacturer. Lt.Dan will be looking good.
Thanks Jim
The last two shows were even better than digging dirt! Thanks for your work and narrative.
Thanks
What an amazing company, and it's unbelievable that they gave you such unlimited access to their process... that's very rare! It's nice to see so many welds done by hand, that just goes to show they really give a s***! I can see how Aaron would love to jump over to that for a full-time job!?? Won't be the $37.50 an hour but working conditions look pretty good! One thing that people don't think about I can't imagine the amount of amperage and voltage that runs through that plant every day!...??? Again I can't believe the access to their process that he walked you right through the entire plant that is amazing!! This was a great video to watch!
Mike that was a very enjoyable tour, it gives folks a rare opportunity to get to see the build process from behind the scenes. I have to point out that you did a very professional job on the interview and asked a lot of the right questions. I also got to hand to MBTS and yourself for the decent quality camera work and editing .
Thanks
Great tour Mike. Its so great to see a real Made In America manufacturer. I have 4 Miller welders, one diesel, one gas and two electric and have a real appreciation for fabrication.
Your body will last as long as the truck from this facility.
I drove past this facility for over 20 years and just thought they sold truck boxes? Great story on their progress over the years. They should relocate to South Dakota to save a great deal on taxes and over regulation.
Nice tour. Lt Dan is going to look great with that body on it, green and black will look good going down the road
Great shop tour, and great to see American Made body assemblies being made from in the U.S.A. Thanks.
i love factory tours nice looking bed
Thanks
Great tour of the plant, good to see America hard at work, and working smart as S.O.T. would say👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Going to be sweet mounted to Lt. Dan👍
Waited on this one it seems like forever
Yep, me too and it did not disappoint..
Thank you Mike
I had to jump back to the Dec 2020 video when you first picked up Lt.Dan and wanted to hear you comment again about this being a budget build . I'm so glad you're taking this to the next level .
Lol
It was 'budget' since he drove all that way to p/u the body and didn't pay for shipping! See - BUDGET! Sonny
@@sonnyblazer5504 I didn't mean to hurt your feelings . It was a joke . If you watched his video in Dec. he said he was looking for a used dump bed and wouldn't do much to the cab .
Good thing Mrs DP is going to get a better model of camper since DP is spending so much more on this truck! LOL
@@eaglerider1826 All's good buddy as I was only carrying your joke! Regards! Sonny
Thanks for the shop tour. Can’t wait for the install. 👍🏻
Amazing! I built my dump body in the back yard 2 years ago having never seen how the pros do it . It was cool to see them lift the sides with a C- 🗜 because my buddy told me I was wrong when I did it . This was a great video 👍. Thanks for taking the time to make it MIKE. !!!
Looks really nice. Good video.
Hi Mike , Great Video. It was awesome of them to show you/us their operation. Not all companies would do that . They have a great attitude about their products.
Now We know why truck or track offer these to their customers. Thanks for sharing 👍👌 stay safe and happy .🇨🇦 Craig
Thanks and I agree
Thanks for the tour, it was great! J.R.
Good morning Mike, I really enjoy watching your videos. Very interesting, thank you for taking the time to video
Thanks
Love a good shop tour, great video. I was waiting for MBTS to go and start welding. You guys are great. Love watching.

Yea! Factory tour!!
Great vid buddy . Enjoy these , very type vids . Thanks for all your efforts.
Thanks
Awesome video guys and thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching
American made you just got all of American manufacturing we need to bring it back to United States love the video very much
I’ve worked in heavy industrial fabrication for 38 years and it’s always fun to see what other shops do! Thanks for the tour and congratulations for LT Dan!
very impressive operation can't wait to see the finished bed on lt. dan
... awesome video, that guy gave a great exposition of the process.... what a great outfit... truly a dump bed worthy of the Loo-tennant...gonna make you a nice looking rig ! ...
They built me my dump body for my brand new 2021 Ford F550 diesel great outfit! They shipped all the way from Minnesota to New Jersey for me...
Awesome
Im in Scotland but it's great to see heavy equipment being made in house as it were. I think that it makes for a strong economy to build and buy in Ur own country aswel as import/export. Great stuff guys!!
What a deal getting to see their production process.
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Great show’s thanks for sharing with us.
Really liked this one.
That looks great Mike. Congratulations
Can't wait to see installed !!
Great video. Great tour. I keep catching myself waiting for the build of this truck like I was going to get to drive it. Thanks for sharing.
That was a great informative tour. Now Lt Dan has his dump box. Can’t wait to see it installed. Thanks for a great video
Thanks for such a great video. Thanks was amazing ❤
Awesome tour thru that plant. As a kid I got to take tours thru GM plants watching Buick and Chevy cars being built in Flint Michigan and this is a much different process.
It's amazing how so much can get done in a fashion that everything comes together smoothly.
Lt. Dan is definitely going to be one good lookin' reliable truck.
NICE!! Aaron is probably licking his lips under that mask wanting to put some metal together lol
What a beauty next one will be putting it on
That was very nice very enjoyable
Planning to build a little 5500 dump truck with an 11' drop side dump on it. Been struggling between Crysteel, Knapheide, & Monroe. Looks like Crysteel builds a nice bed. Thanks for taking us along.
Yes they do
I have a 12' drop side Crysteel and it is a very stout bed!
Monroe builds nice bodies, but the Crysteel bodies are a touch nicer.
@@haroldphipps3457 thanks!
Very nice box, your gonna have a nice truck Mike
Quality production on the fly.
Thanks
Good tour of the plant interesting that bed looks nice when is it going on the truck
It's about time. Thank you Dp Great show.
Love the video Mike .
Thanks
This company reminds me of a mom & pop manufacturing company I worked for before college named Specialty Screw in Rockford, IL when I ran Header. This type of company is what keeps America working
What an awesome visit to view HOME made, heavy industrial manufacturing. Thank you for your video's I enjoyed it tremendously. Greeting from Dublin Ireland bless you all. Keep safe
Thanks
Love the tour DP. Chomping at the bit to see this dump bed installed on LT. Dan. The same 3 pusher lift axle dump trucks here in Virginia can only haul around 23 tons legally. So its roughly around 74,000lbs total weight. If you haul in the area they call coal fields, the weight goes up to around 110,000lbs total weight.
Thanks
Good thing you took all that time to make the paint right on the truck. Nice looking bed!
Can't wait to see that on Lt. Dan!!!
that is a well kept shop with the most clean floors in a weld shop I have seen in a while im used to seeing mountains of grinding dust on the floors
It might be an OSHA violation to have dust on the floor
@@cathiwim it is if you have enough fine iron dust and have a big explosion the iron dust can create a bigger secondary explosion
Wow that’s awesome if I ever buy a truck bed I’m calling them thanks for sharing buddy
Excellent episode.
Thanks
That was an interesting tour. Looking forward to the installation. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
Love the tour Mike. Thank you!👍
Thanks for taking us along. Like everyone else I cant wait for Lt. Dan to be finished. Our local truck body dealer is so covered up with work.. My work recently bounced two guys in just a tandem cab/ chasis all the way to Arkansas for a new steel bed( previously had aluminum). Only downside is the steel added 4000 lbs. to the empty weight. My favorite tandem in our fleet got a good makeover .
Super interesting.
Awesome tour
VERY IMPRESSED!
Thanks
Great video and Don was a great host. God bless
That was a great video thanks for sharing
Thanks Guys, It is Made In America and I'm loving it...
Very nice always great to see ones pride in their quality and workmanship ,it shows dedication ,commitment and longevity for them and the customers they service! Great video tour will be nice to see when MBTS has it mounted ,thanks for showing us the process good choice DP.
Did you know that in upper WI. and upper MI. in the winter when the frost gets to a certain depth ( i think it is 30") there is no weight limit on trucks on the highways. Thanks for the tour very interesting. Nice looking dump body. The quarry i worked for had heated body's back in the 1970's in all our dump trucks to haul asphalt all winter long in NJ.
Awesome video great audio, looking forward to the future video of it all coming together!!!
Thanks
Nice video I work for the sister plant in Mississippi called Duraclass we build dump bodies and dump trailers nice to see inside crysteel. Good video
Nice looking Dump Bed. Its going too look good on the back of LT. Dan...Great Video Thank You for sharing
Now the fun begins!!!
Wow am impressed with this tour. U don't get this everyday. Thanks DP. Made my morning 🌄🌄😊😊
Thanks
Awesome tour , that bed is gonna look crazy good on LT DAN
Thanks buddy
Impressive facility. Enjoyed the tour. Nice of them to take the time. Can't wait to see the dump body on Lt. Dan.
