This is the best video on the topic
No game on the switch is worth $60 period....
you Sony Fanboy
@@blake3one6 SONY > everything bruh
Breath of the wild and super Mario Odyssey is worth 60…. Other than that though yeah. Most third party switch games are just downgrades and should be cheaper. Most of the first party games are good, but not worth 60 (or I’m my case after tax games are $90 CND) but that doesn’t matter to Nintendo because people will buy not matter the price. Personally I usually wait for used copies on my local listings so I can save 20-30 bucks
@@TheBlackYoshi22 you guys are the problem thats why nintendo selling most of their lame games for $60
@@steroids14 Bruh he literally just agreed with you and yet you still calling him the problem? LOL😂🤣
It's been 4999 at my Walmart since the release they had at least eight games there and no one picked them up even on Black Friday a month later.. Me even 49.99 is to much on this one ,, maybe 29.99.. on release date they had 8 games in the case,,I go to Walmart every other day they still have 8 in the case even after Black Friday.. I actually asked the guy at the counter he says they never sold one..And this is a fairly busy Walmart haven't looked at the other Walmart to see if they're the same price but I would think they are in my area in Phoenix metro area Arizona
Feel the same. 29.99. I played the demo and liked it but not for 60 dollars.
If EA can pump out multiple sports games that are just copy paste little effort put into them and sell them for $60 (sometimes even $70), why can't Metroid Dread be $60? I bought the game for $90 (because Canadian prices are higher) (standard edition, no amiibos), and it was worth every penny
They shouldn't be $70 or $60. He would probably say the same thing.
You're right it's not worth $60.
It's worth $90. I got the collectors edition 😎
The physical game is 49.99 at Walmart It's been that price since the release date there's 8 of them in the case that I saw..I was just there today again same price 49.99 on Black Friday no one picked it up ..still 8 in the case...
It totally is
It's Not! If I'm paying $65...I'm buying fucking Halo infinite or Battlefield 2042.
I agree with what you are saying but the quality of the game being independent of the price of the game. I play Tetris and Sudoku all the time, they are very good games but they not $60 games. Pricing on games should be reasonable, MD is simply not worth $60.
exactly
This game is not like it was created with Mario maker. It has very detailed and interestung backgrounds. Sometimes in the background they will even put hints that a certain boss is coming. They even went as far as making a completely unique language for the chozos. And the fact that it took so long to come out to begin with proves that there was a lot of effort put into this, which is probably why it is 60 dollars. Other than that though, I think you made some very good points, it should be a little less, like maybe 50 dollars
This game was originally for 3ds but was delayed and remade for switch
how do you know this?
Value is in the EYE of the Beholder. Im thinking about buying it for full price and that's what brought me here. thank you
If it was $40 I wouldve definitely copped
Same. The game looks so outdated....
Not saying games that look outdated are bad, but a game in 2021 should not look like Metriod Dread lol
I was impressed because nintendo allowed you to try it on demo first. Awesome. More games should do that.
But tuen 60 bucks and i already completed 1/4 of the game in demo? That was disappointing.
Hollow Knight is 15 bucks and i feel offers more than this 60 dollar game. Thats really sad. That and i hate seeing metroid turn into a unskippable cutscene marathon. I feel like im just running from cut scene to cutscene. Everytime the cutscene happens i feel as if im taken out of the game and immersion is lost.
Its nice you can skip the scenes after youve seen them already, but damn it just feels unnecessary.
Makes a video of ranting about people pirating the game then makes another the next day saying it's not worth $60? 😂 ( I'm didn't pirate it I don't even like metroid I just think it's funny)
the Metroid brand increases the price by 100% tbh
Good video. 👍
Thanks 👍
I bet if it was a new Mario you would buy it for 60
Mario is a completely different game
@@blake3one6 And Metroid is somehow worth less than Mario? Back in the NES days, Metroid was up there with Mario and Zelda. This isn't some new IP
@@musictorin you’re missing the point
@@blake3one6 "you're missing the point, the point is i'm right and you're wrong because i said so."
Mario odyssey is a better all-around game ....lots of replay value
So it's a discount for sale game basically.
Okay
Xenoblade 1 and 2 were worth the $60. I have the most hours in those, than almost all my other AAA switch titles combined.
those are huge games tho lol
Do you realize that Metroid Fusion launched in 2002 for $40? That's literally $60 in today's money.
yea, a GBA Game LOL ..are you serious?
@@blake3one6 There are GBA copies of that game being sold with a lot of them going over $100. Just goes to show how loved this series is.
@@calebgoodman2076 stop lol smh
@@blake3one6 I found a Metroid banner, not a game but a *banner* being sold for $350.
@@calebgoodman2076 lol you sound ridiculous
I've been playing Metroid Dread and without a doubt its definitely worth every penny of 60 dollars. Gotta ask yourself what constitutes a game to be worth 60 dollars, for me its the gameplay and replay value and engagement three things that guy you're talking about didn't mention. Plus Metroid is an IP that's been around since the 80s. 60 dollars. Also a game is worth what consumers are willing to pay for it.
You got ripped off it was 49.99 on release day at Walmart and it's been that price everyday ,, even today..I just saw them today when I passed the VG department.. Even that price is too much to me ,, maybe 3999 and I would spring for it..But even for $40 I'd probably pass to... If there was a way to upload a video picture I would
Ain't mega Man 11 like what $30 I got to agree with you on this
The problem isn't that Metroid Dread is overpriced. The problem is that other games like Hades and Hollow Knight are underpriced
I love a lot of Nintendo's games but this is 100% true. Dread is not worth $60... i don't even think it's worth $40.
It's a 10 hour game, max $30.
You are living in 2002 my friend. Metroid Fusion, one of the most loved in the series launched $40 on the gameboy advance. That's literally $60.00 today's money. And look how much better Dread looks and plays. It's a 2D metroid that has adjusted for inflation.
@@jacobianmail No thats just rubbish, if games like Hades, Dead Cells, Hollow Knight ect.. cost less than $40 and are all over 100 hours long. Or even Ori is a prime example, backed by a big studio, costs less than Dread and has more content still...
A game that i can finish in a single night has no business costing $60.
Really, if you think a 7 hour game for $60 is good value for money, i have quite a lot of things i would like to sell you 🤣.
@@rezarfar I'd rather pay $90 for a game that was fun all the time and was replayable rather than pay for some AAA game that's 80% cutscenes
It's 10 hours for the first playthrough, meaning you aren't including replay value. If I were to add up the time it took me on my first playthrough + 100% runs and speedruns, I would have spent 23 hours on the game in the first 2 weeks (And I'm planning on playing much more)
@@musictorin okay... you know what... I'll humour you for a second, read the below and you can judge yourself...
you might play it one more time, but unless you're really bad at these types of games, your second playthrough will be a lot quicker than your first.
Assuming you are on the lower end of the time scale and it takes you 11 hours to beat the first time, i would imagine your second will be 8 hours, 9 tops.
Now lets be realistic, unless you're a speed runner, in which case those times would make you the worst speed runner in the world, you'll be looking at a max of 2 playthrough.
Thats IF you even want to pointlessly play the game with no reason at all to do so, a second time, but you'll definitely not want to play it a 3rd time.
Either case lets just say you are autistic and you want to play it a 3rd time... unless you are literally disabled, your 3rd playthrough will take no more than 5 hours MAX...
So to summarise all this, to do 3 playthrough on Dread should take no more than 25 hours, 2 of those playthroughs are absolutely pointless, in fact the 3rd is autism territory, unless you're a speed runner, which i doubt.
Still 25 hours for $60 is a stretch... and even getting to the 25 hours to begin with is questionable anyway...
To be fair, outside of Zelda no games are worth $60 in my opinion
So many bro
Mario odyssey Luigis mansion
Other M>Metroid Dread
You do realize Other M was such a failure it nearly ended the franchise right?
